Lori came back to my farm for the second time this sit. She remembered the critters and the routine, and again did a fantastic job of keeping track of the three horses, the donkey, the dog and the cat. I got regular updates with reports, pictures, and questions, and the communication was great. She noticed the little details and followed the instructions closely. Her experience with horses is very good, and she is confident and focused on safety first. The April weather was unsteady towards a couple different extremes--both very hot and then some colder thunderstorms--and she willingly adapted the horses' routines according to their needs and my instructions. Everything was left tidy and organized, and her efforts were hugely appreciated. Overall a great experience.

Rada
Rada and Aretha were wonderful!! Rada was nice and welcoming. Her home was beautiful and filled with art; very cozy too. In fact, when in her home you forget you're in the city it feels like a cozy remote place. Aretha was the sweetest girl ever, she loved the love. She was a such a delight!! The neighborhood was nice with plenty restaurants nearby and not far from the lake. Rada was great with communication and very nice altogether. It was a very pleasant sit.

We had a fantastic weekend looking after Bridget. The house is beautiful, a very cosy family home with great vibration. We felt instantly at home. There are lovely walks through the countryside and a short drive to the coast.
Bridget is such a darling. She is a very special girl indeed and the easiest dog ever to look after.
We would definitely return in a heartbeat.
Thank you for choosing us! We highly recommend this sit.

Lou & Oscar
Sitting Niamh for Louise and Oscar was a true pleasure form start to finish. Firstly, Louise and Oscar were kind enough to consider the fact that I was a relatively new sitter to the Trusted Housesitters platform, and without being able to rely on a long history of 5 star reviews, gave me a much appreciated chance to sit after some chatting.

Lou and Oscar introduced Niamh and I on the day, and gave an overview of her care, requirements, the home and the area- every detail of which was captured in the trusty manual (this is superbly put together and answered any and all of the queries I had during the sit, would recommend reading it first thing 😊). Niamh has a great routine and structure in place, and is a dote to look after! She loves human company but is still very much behaved and mannerly both at home one-to-one, and when out on adventures meeting other humans and four-legged friends.

The location of this sit, and the gorgeousness of the apartment are just the cherries on top (seriously, you won't want to leave!). The views from the living area are just stunning, and the whole space has a very peaceful and relaxing feel to it. The people of Greystones are notably friendly- it seems to be a great community with plenty of spots for delicious food and fun activities.

Highly recommend if you are looking for an earthy seaside getaway with cute canine companionship 😊

We absolutely loved sitting for Charlie and Porter! They are the sweetest cats and once they get to know you, they are super affectionate!
Steph and Mat were so hospitable from the moment we met and they helped us feel at home in their lovely apartment. The location is fabulous right in the centre of all the lovely shops and cafes in Double Bay and their place has everything you need to feel super comfortable.
We loved watching Charlie and Porter cuddle up and play together and just loved everything about this sit.
Thank you so much for choosing us as your sitters and we can't wait to see you all next year!

I am very grateful to Katie and Oli for the opportunity to meet their large, friendly family. They are a wonderful couple, always in touch and ready to help with everything. I had a great time with all the cats, they became like family to me. Winston especially always loves attention and spending time with me. Their home feels cozy and warm, so I highly recommend them. Thank you very much 💗💗💗💗💗🦋❤️‍🔥

Mika and Kimi are the sweetest, most affectionate and energetic dogs I've probably ever met!! They are super cute and everyone we met loved them. Puddles is also adorable and will wander in and out. Marianne and Abid are very friendly and helpful and were so kind as to pick me up from the train station and share their family dinner with me so that I could arrive the night before they left on their trip.

The dogs are extremely active and need to be walked for 1.5-2 hours in the morning and they go on another hike (about an hour plus) in the afternoon. Both hikes are through the often muddy forest, (and the dogs do still jump a bit, but I know they are working on this) so make sure to bring good boots and clothes that you don’t mind getting wet/ ruined. During the day, they will follow you everywhere wanting constant attention. They’re definitely adorable and affectionate, and it was hard to get any work done because they just wanted to play and cuddle all day!

The pets get fed at 7am and 7pm, but the dogs started barking for breakfast usually between 5-5:30. They also do wake up often during the night and start barking and howling when they see a fox. But you just have to let them out into the yard and wait about 15 minutes until they come back. This happened 2-3 times a night, most of the nights I was there.

The house is a huge, old house with a gorgeous yard and views over the valley and Gatwick. I stayed in the oldest daughter’s room and was comfortable there, especially because she showed me how to use the heating blanket - so cozy! The family has 3 children and the house is very well lived in.

Small note that the road is under construction because of a sinkhole, so it’s closed to through traffic. If you’re there on Thursday/ Friday, you’ll need to take the 6 heavy bins down to the end of the road and carry them back up in the morning, because the trash collectors can’t get to the house.

I did this sit on my own, and it was fine, but it was definitely a full time job. I’d highly recommend having a friend or partner join you for this one. It’s also best if you have a car, as it’s a solid 30 minute walk each way to the grocery store/ town. Since the dogs can only be left alone for 2 hours, that makes exploring or getting a break difficult without two people and/ or a car.
