Sue’s lovely home is nestled in an idyllic setting, steps from the neighborhood lake and nature trails. The house is like a fairy tale cottage, and the backyard, complete with babbling brook, is so relaxing. The neighborhood is a historic, gated retreat in the tiny town of Tuxedo, NY, just 20 minutes from shopping and other needs in Northern NJ. It’s the best of both worlds! Midge and Socks are two super sweet pups who love to go for walks on the trail. Midge will snuggle on your lap in the evening! Her cats Blackie and Mickey are also very nice. Blackie is a senior kitty who loves to be pet, while Mickey is quite shy. We loved getting to know all the animals - we miss them! Sue’s large kitchen is fully equipped for cooking, and the home is beautifully decorated with souvenirs from her time in South Africa. We had a fabulous time and took full advantage of the restful nature of Sue’s wonderful house. We would love to be asked back! Thank you!
Max, Nicky and the whole family are just the loveliest - and sitting was such a pleasure. Max is such a sweet, gentle, well behaved dog, our walks and beach trip were a relaxing weekend highlight. What a great experience for our first Sit. Dawn is truly a wonderful person, she is so easy to communicate with. It was a pleasure spending time with her. We so appreciated her allowing us to spend the night before. Titan & George are definitely fun. They love to play.(at first a little shy but by the 3rd day they would come to us to play.) They are both very affectionate. Titan right away and when George warms up to you he won't let you out of his sight. Spending evenings watching tv with them in our laps or across our shoulders was such a cozy feeling. We found it was best to keep some so of schedule so that they knew what to expect from us. I think it made it easier on them to warm up to us right away knowing what was going on and when. We have to admit when we returned home our house felt empty without having them around. Michael said this morning "I really miss those little guys"!!! Even though the weather was a little off and on rain every day, we were still able to spend time in the pool or going out to do things. Ft. Myers is our favorite vacation spot. Thank you so much Dawn for letting us take care of your fur babies!!!
I had a lovely time looking after Loui in Louise’s beautiful home. Loui is an absolute delight, he has such a sweet nature, he’s relaxed, loves a lie in and snuggling up on the sofa. What he’s the most passionate about is his frisbee which he adores and will be happy to retrieve for as long as you’re willing to throw it for him! In my case ages, who can resist those beautiful, big brown eyes 😍 Louise is very welcoming and full of ideas for great walks and places to take Loui out and about locally. Along with parks nearby to play frisbee there’s also lovely walks along the river with cafe’s and pubs along the way. I’m really happy to be going back to look after lovely Loui again in a couple of weeks.
We had the honor of being referred to Oliver by mutual friends and pet sitting clients who we sit for frequently. Bill and Bertie were absolutely the highlight of this sit. They are both gorgeous specimens of their breeds as well as very sweet and easy to care for pets. Bill is very obedient and good at off lead walking—we had great walks twice a day and even some lovely extended walks to the woods and lake nearby—all by foot as we were warned Bill can get motion sick in the car. Bill and Bertie have mealtimes throughout the day—Bill 3 times and Bertie 4 times per day. Bill was my shadow and I loved having him as my buddy throughout our stay. The 32 chickens are some of the most beautiful and interesting chickens. The chores are easy and don’t require too much time. They are scheduled 3x throughout the day, morning, 2pm and dusk (5pmish in February). Egg delivery to the neighbors was also an easy task 1 time per week. The property is lovely and will be especially beautiful come spring and summer as Oliver has curated both botanical gardens and a nice sized vegetable garden. He also has a lovely pond. We did not have any requirements during February of feeding the fish, but there are many lovely goldfish in the pond and a mated pair of Mallards and other wild ducks that frequent the pond. Oliver was responsive via What’s App for communications despite being in Australia with a large time difference. Occasionally there were requests to clear the video/security cameras of cobwebs that he would get notifications on. Oliver also left one of the most detailed Welcome guides we have had in over 50 pet sits. It was a helpful reference, especially when distributing mail to the two on-property tenants (to remember who lived where) and what days to put out what bins on the weekly rubbish collection. We almost never saw the tenants and it had no impact on our privacy or stay. Oliver was very gracious and left many groceries available for our use during the stay. We especially loved the fresh juicing oranges and had several days of fresh squeezed orange juice for breakfast—such a treat, we are hooked. He also offered my husband his prepaid swimming spot at a local private pool, but unfortunately my husband’s work requirements for his job just didn’t permit him time to make it there to use it during our stay. Oliver also stocked up the wood for the log burner which we enjoyed using every day. Our sit was for 3 weeks, and we spent most of our time on the property. With our own remote work combined with preferring to cook our own meals in Olivers lovely kitchen, as well as the schedule of chores, we found that we really didn’t have much time to get out and about. We had our own car and would say a car is needed as the sit is in a rural setting. Sainsbury is probably less than 2 miles from the home and easy to access. We would recommend this sit for anyone interested in a quiet, relaxing sit in an idyllic setting. You won’t be bored or lonely with these amazing pets, chickens and wildlife

Abbie at Free Range Doggy Day Care has recently been grooming my dog. After several grooming experiences with other groomers I highly recommend Abbie as a #1 dog groomer. What a great place to leave your dog for the day or during a vacation. Remy always comes home exhausted and mellow. I even take advantage of their onsite groomer, Abbie. Remy does not like baths but Abbie always gets the job done. His fur is always so clean and smooth. The staff will not disappoint you or your dog.
The groomer Abbie K at Free Range is by far the best groomer for my tempermenatal cocker spaniel who does not liked to be groomed at all. He is about 3 years old and has been to about 5 different groomers. None of them made my dog look so good. Most groomers would actually shave him all over and indicate what a handful he is or give up and ask that he be picked up because they could not handle him. I have had to medicate him in the past that is how much he dislikes the process. Abbie has the patience of a saint and was up to the challenge and no longer is medicated for the process. Henri now has a beautiful coat fully brushed out and looks like his breed. Abbie really is a miracle worker. We bring him every month now for a bath or to be fully groomed. I know how difficult the process is as I tried to groom him myself with all the professional tools and let's just say he looked choppy and uneven. This is why I believe it's so important to tip all dog groomers. Thank you Abbie for your hardwork. I appreciate your perseverance and can do attitude. Henri loves going to daycare here too, I love Saturdays less dogs as during the week.
Found this place by chance when our normal place was booked. Our Great Dane would walk into the old place a little hesitant, now as soon as the car door is opened he is as happy as can be ... Staff is super friendly and throughly enjoy what they do. Update 9/30/22: Wow! they are getting serious upgrades inside and out. Pete the manager was awesome once again. Even with everything going on around him (contractors, people coming and going) he was professional and took the time with us -it's a great feeling when you leave your pet with Pete and his staff; you can walk away with confidence that your pet will be well taken care of and loved.
Free Range is the top dog daycare in the area. Not only is it clean, but the staff is professional and my 2 large breed dogs come home exhausted after a day there which is great for me. The staff is always responsive and they offer a wide range of services including grooming. You will also receive frequent “report cards” that track your dog’s behavior, habits etc… I always trust that my dogs will be well taken care of when I drop them off at Free Range, and their hours of operation are very convenient for the average work schedule as well.
I recently booked an appointment with Abbie for the first time for my dog, Opie, and I couldn't be happier with the experience! She was friendly and professional, and she did an amazing job grooming my dog. She left him looking fresh and tidy and kept in contact with me from start to finish. Her attention to detail was impressive, from nail trimming to ear cleaning. My dog came out looking and feeling fantastic! I'll definitely have Abbie treat him again soon!
My experience with the staff and services at Free Range Doggie Daycare and overnight camp have been fantastic. They are super organized and efficient. The system used for uploading vaccinations and information is easy to use. If you have to contact them, they get back to you right away and are happy to let you know how your pet is doing and behaving. The drop off and pickup has been flawless and our dog looks great and happy being with the other dogs. This was her first time going to daycare and kenneling overnight, I would definitely bring her back again.
We not only love that our pup Maeby enjoys the day running around and comes home tired; but even more so the attentive staff. We are always satisfied with our experience and know we can trust that our pup is in good hands. The video feed is also a plus!
Watson loves day care, the staff are great and they care about all the fur babies as if one of their own. He's been twice and we can already tell a difference in his demeanor, he comes home pooped from getting to socialize and play all day! When we first got out puppy Brooks, we looked into places in the area to bring him to get his energy out! We found Camp Bow Wow Bloomfield 5 min from our apartment and have absolutely loved all of our experiences there. They have always been very promptly responsive to any questions I’ve had! We boarded our boy there for a few days when we went away and it gave me such peace of mind that he was there with staff watching him all the time! They offer such great enrichment activities. My puppy made a paw print wreath, had gotten pictures done there and even got some alone time with a counselor when we were away. Our puppy comes home exhausted every-time he goes to Camp Bow Wow! The prices are very reasonable for what you are getting with a nice building, lots of interactive time and the dogs always have a counselor in the room watching them! They always provide such great photos of my pup having fun! We love CBW Bloomfield!

Camp Bow Wow has helped Ari boost her confidence. She’s always excited to spend time there. I enjoy being able to check in on her thought the cameras. She can be shy with people and loud noise. She now sleeps through lighting and I’m pretty sure it’s because of camp. She was scared of EVERYTHING prior to camp. Thank you guys! It’s very clear from the moment you walk in that the counselors and staff love their jobs and care about all of the dogs! The facility is clean, organized and run very efficiently. I appreciate the ability to check in on my dogs during their stay via the web cams. It’s fun to see what they are up to! All of the different activities that are offered are great-I very much treasure the Mother’s Day card my dogs “made” me at camp! Our interactions and experiences here have been leaps and bounds above the other doggy daycare facilities we have used in the past.
Staff was extremely professional, warm and welcoming. I brought my dog Royal here for a 5 night stay and She absolutely loved it. The staff was sure to send me updates as well as pictures of her engaging in a few of the many activities that they have to choose from while I was away. Before coming to Camp Bow Wow I visited another kennel nearby. Standoffish staff and I wouldn’t be able to bring any of Kings stuff during boarding, no cameras, cold concrete floors with dogs that were laying on thin sheets. Then we interviewed at Camp Bow Wow. The difference was night and day. Open and welcoming attitudes, clean facility and sure bring a few things to make King feel at home. Honestly, the staff deserve 10 stars! King loves his visits so far and the fact that there are cameras we can see via the app make us even happier. He is so excited to see everyone and gets home exhausted. Boarding and grooming are also here for convenience.The newsletters and communication are beyond outstanding. I will never not recommend this place. Thank you Camp Bow Wow!
Looking for a place for your pups?? Look no further. camp bow wow. Now I don't own a dog, but I volunteer with a local dog rescue. And know dogs who attend here as well. When a company helps out a local dog rescue you just need to give a good shout out to the company. The staff was fun and friendly. Even tho I own one of those Ferrets.. Lol they have day care, boarding and Grooming. On certain weekends they have dog rescue groups!!!
Linda and Jack and their staff are the best. They are flexible, thorough, and most importantly, caring. Their communication with me as a cat pet parent has been outstanding and better than any other sitters I've used. I recommend Linda's Critter Sitters without hesitation for all their services. On a very personal note, when a dear friend of mine became ill and was unable to care for her beloved Pug, Ivan, anymore, Linda and Jack who had been walking and boarding him regularly, adopted him as their own. Kindness like that is not easily duplicated.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND Linda’s Critter Sitters. Fantastic folks to work with. I have been using them for about 3 years to care for our two senior dogs mostly when we travel. One of my dogs is high strung and quite a handful which requires experience and patience that LCS folks have. Usually Jack and Michelle (and sometimes Bridgette) handle the visits and walks and they provide excellent care! I never have to worry if there is an emergency because I know they are trained to handle the unexpected. They email me a report card with details after every visit (fed, walked, poop, pee, medication, etc) and sometimes send photos. This gives me piece of mind! They have a secure pet portal and you can complete details about your pet’s history and other important information. They are true professionals and I never have concerns when I’m away home - I know my pups are in the best hands possible and my home is left secure at all times.

This service is top notch. Linda and Jack and their staff have taken great care walking our two labradors (one of whom is a challenge to walk) after the dog walking service we had been using previously closed. They use the Time to Pet app so it's always easy to schedule and communicate online, and we get report cards following each walk. Highly recommend and sad we are moving away as we will have a hard time replacing them.

I brought my dog here for the first time for a bath and haircut and they did the most amazing job. I have no idea how they made him smell so great but it’s amazing! Chelsea is wonderful, we will absolutely be back.

Walk-ins for nail trim accepted. Female owned small business. They all remember Ben’s name [‘nuff said], welcome him with treats. They take a beat show affection and allow Ben to settle down. That never happened at PS/P. Ben is skiddish at the big-ones. Reasonable pricing. I know they are booked out several weeks for total grooming. These women deserve your business.
They do a great job with my geriatric terrier mix, who can be quite the grumpy old man. Petsmart charged me extra because he tried to bite them.
Price went up two times in a year for a dog bath. First time I wasn't given any heads up and was shocked on pick up. There wasn't even a new price list put out either. Then when calling to book a couple of months later they informed it went up another $20 for a bath it is now way to high. I have a very friendly easy lab and $80 for a bath with no grooming is way too much to pay. After 20 years of faithful patronage I had to seek elsewhere. I paid a lot less and my dog actually got a cute lil scarf put on him too, which he never recieved here, and they did a nicer job on his nails as well.
My dog got a phenomenal cut, they were kind and reasonably priced. Very cool plant collection in the lobby room.
When you visit Animal Bath & Burrow’s Facebook page you will see in their bio where they state that they are a family run business. Which is how I see my dog- as family. So, it pains me to see the miss treatment of how my dog’s session went. I dropped of my dog early to her appointment nothing unusual. But when I came back, I was presented with a waiver saying it was standard pursued. Then promptly after signing in good faith. Then the groomer comes out to tell me that my dog was cut during her session. -They said they had a small nick on her. I felt that this was poor business practice. To coerce me into signing a waiver because they had already injured my dog. This should have been done at the beginning of the appointment. This is not the place to bring your beloved pets. Very unsatisfied with how this situation was handled.
I brought my Shihtzu here for the first time and I am very happy with the service. He's only one year old, so he's still getting used to being groomed and he can be very wiggly. The groomer did a fantastic job. Nice haircut, nails trimmed short, and he smelled very nice. The staff were all very friendly.

Animal Bath & Burrow took care of our two labs for the 8 years we lived in town. They always went above and beyond, giving our dogs love and affection during the grooming process. Every time we picked up our dogs, they were happy, clean, and so soft! We used the walk-in nail option for years to keep up with fast-growing nails in between regular grooming appointments. In our view, their prices were more than reasonable! Beyond all of that, the staff at Animal Bath and Burrow really cared about our pets. In 2017, one of our dogs ended up needing urgent cancer surgery two days after a vet visit. Knowing that our dog wouldn't be able to be bathed for a while after surgery, we called Animal Bath. Without hesitation, they put him on the schedule and stayed late just to squeeze him in. We will never forget that kindness! We will miss the staff now that we have moved away!
Karen has been caring for my cats over the past few years when I travel for business. Those trips can last for days and I feel confident knowing she's looking after them. I especially like that she has a nursing background.considering one of my cats requires medication. She's also very good at 'reading' animals, understanding some are more shy or aloof, and knowing how best to work with each of them. Don't let the 'Canine' part of her company name throw you. She's great with cats too!
Karen is a fantastic pet sitter! We hired her to watch our two kitties while on vacation. One of my cats is afraid of everyone. I knew Karen was a winner when my cat actually let Karen hold her at our first meeting. Karen had no difficulty giving medication and was able to prevent one of my cats from escaping our house (he likes to hunt). She obviously loves animals and I will highly recommend her to anyone I know in need of a pet sitter.

I met Karen four yrs ago when we bought our puppy, Rigby. She came at noon each day while we were at work to walk him and take him out to pee and poo. We’ve continued to have Karen come during our work week, even though Rigby’s older now, just to have him exercised and socialized with her dogs. We’ve also used Karen each year to dogsit while we’re on summer vacation. Rigby hasn’t had to be kenneled and is comfortable at home while we’re away. Karen has treated Rigby like she does her own dogs. She goes above and beyond a walk, often taking him for romps with other dogs. She is caring and knowledgeable. She has assisted with Rigby’s training. Karen is reliable and flexible when our visit needs to be changed. I would highly recommend her to care for your dog.

Excellent pet care! I would highly recommend. We didn’t have to worry about leaving our fur babies overnight and this was a huge relief! They came twice a day to let them out, feed them, and cuddle. 🥰 We received multiple pictures to reassure us they were doing well. Also we have a chihuahua/pug mix who is a very nervous dog and doesn’t make friends easily. Kelly was able to calm her down and gain her trust in a matter of minutes! Allowed dogs to cause damage to home. Left house unlocked on more then one occasion. Cats were not given free access to food and water while under their care. They also went into areas of the home they didn't need to be in without asking. Would not use again or recommend.

I have been a client for over 3 years now. I have 2 80 pound labradors. I use Flex Your Paws overnight service and daily walk service. I have to travel for business, and it’s a huge relief to have Flex Your Paws take care of my dogs in their home environment. It causes them less anxiety while I’m away and me too! I love this service and love not having to board my dogs. They provide regular updates and pics of my pups which I really appreciate. Kelly, the owner, is wonderful! She always works with my crazy schedule and provides great care for my pups! My dogs adore their daily visits with Jen too! They absolutely love her, and she is great with them. My dogs are 2 1/2 and 3 1/2, so they have lots of energy! I am so thankful for the reliable, trustworthy services Flex Your Paws provides. I highly recommend them!

Leanne from Royal Paws Pet Service is an amazing pet sitter. She’s welcoming, organized, very passionate about animals, and after our first meet, I felt very comfortable hiring her to take care of my Persian cat in my apartment while I’m away on vacation or visiting family. She’s watched my baby, Nimbus, several times this year from short weekend trips away to longer 3 week trips away. My apartment is always spotless when I return home, and she’s very flexible with scheduling visits which is very appreciated especially for those last minute emergencies! I always appreciate the update photos and texts she sends during her visits. The peace of mind of knowing that my baby is well taken care of when I’m away from home is simply priceless. Royal Paws Pet Service is undeniably great! After having a very stressful time trying to find a reliable pet sitter last minute when we had to travel due to a family emergency, we were thankful when an acquaintance (highly) recommended Leanne. After hearing about our situation, she found a way to accommodate us and we were so grateful. Our dog Tobi needs special care as he takes medicine and requires a specific diet as well...so we were very nervous having someone we didn’t know care for him. Needless to say, after meeting Leanne, we had full confidence in her ability to care for Tobi. She made sure to follow all instructions regarding his specific diet, which involved cooking some of his food, took care of his medication, and continually updated us as to how he was doing. She was respectful of our home as well and kept it clean-even took the trash out, did our dishes and brought some packages in. Especially appreciated after an exhausting trip. I highly recommend her services; her professionalism and commitment left us satisfied to the fullest! She is a very genuine, dedicated, loving person and far exceeded our expectations when caring for our dog. It was truly the best experience we have ever had with Tobi's care.

Leanne goes WAY above and beyond in her care for your pets. She doesn’t just ensure that they’re fed and have their basic needs cared for, she gives them love and all the attention they could ever want. 100% could not find a more trustworthy or better person to care for your pets!
Leanne is very attentive and professional since the greeting meeting. She wrote down everything that was important. Even though my pets are shy with other people, she could get along with them very quickly. I was able to travel peacefully because she sent me a lot of news, pictures, videos. She really cares and gives genuine attention to the pets. Totally recommend her service.
I highly recommend Leanne for pet sitting! I have two large mastiffs that are rescues- they are energetic and stubborn. Leanne is so great with them. I have hired her for multiple weekends away and she is prompt, professional, and fun!! My dogs LOVE her! I love the updates and pictures she sends me after each visit so I can relax and enjoy my time away knowing that my dogs are well cared for. She is super communicative and flexible when our schedule changes. It is very clear that Leanne is passionate about animals and strives to give the best care possible to her clients.
Leanne watched my cat smudge for a few days while I was on vacation, and I have nothing but good things to say about her! Every visit she sent pictures and updates on him, and it put me at ease knowing he was with someone that truly cared about him! We were very happy with Candlewick Kennels in Glastonbury, CT. We boarded our furkid dog for 3 days. It was a great process from scheduling to check out. We signed him up for their doggy daycare while he was there so that he wouldn’t be alone all day. He had a free assessment before he arrived to be sure he would be a good candidate for mingling with a group of dogs. He passed and he loved it. We watched him on live CAMS. We knew he was happy. They gave him his meds! Staff is wonderful. He always gets groomed there.
Can’t recommend Candlewick Kennels enough! After a really bad experience at another local daycare/boarding facility, I was hesitant to bring my dog anywhere else — until I found Candlewick Kennels. I know my dog is in great hands here! He absolutely LOVES going to boarding / daycare. The staff is always so pleasant & I can tell they really care about all the dogs. They communicate any concerns immediately & are super responsive. Truly cannot recommend this place enough for any / all of your pet needs :)
This place is awesome. Great, friendly, efficient service at good prices. I had my Bernedoodle puppy’s first grooming done here yesterday and he looks like a brand new pup, in a great way!! Jessica did a fantastic job and we’ll be returning every month for a bath and brush at least until he’s a year old. And will continue to use for grooming.
I have been boarding my dog at Candlewick for the past 2 years. Also am frequently using daycare to keep him socialized. The staff is great and prices are similar to others. I love the web cam so I can check in whenever I want. I highly recommend.
Candlewick is the only place my wife and I are comfortable bringing our dog Iroh. The staff are always friendly, and remember him. Anytime he’s boarded their communication has been top notch. He once had an upset stomach while staying with them, and they called me and made a plan to add rice to his meals and keep us updated. We feel like he is safe and cared for, every single time. Doggie daycare is great, and they have live cameras so you can see how the dogs interact. There is always plenty of staff members. Their groomers are amazing and have an immense amount of patience. My dog is very energetic, and they do amazing work on him and he never comes home stressed. The groomer always checks what we want done first, and he comes home smelling amazing. This facility is 25 minutes from my house and we will never use anyone closer, peace of mind is huge.
I don’t want to bring my dog to any other kennel. Some kennels you can sense when your pet does not want to be there if they stand at the door not wanting to go in. At Candlewick my dog has no problem with going with the staff. They really seem to care about peoples pets and not just treat them as an animal. I got texts from the staff when there was anything out of the ordinary happening with my dog. I love getting the snuggle sessions for my dog and getting the selfies texted to me. I would definitely recommend! You feel at ease sending your pet here and aren’t worried they are scared or miserable when you are away.
My dog Teddy previously went to multiple Petco locations over the years for grooming but the stylists always said that he gets nippy with them so recommend going to a private groomer. I have brought Teddy to Candlewick for recurring 7-8x week grooming appointments for the past 4 years and their report card always gives him high praises. This just shows that environment and space really do make a big difference when it comes to our fur babies wellbeing and comfort. I have not done the boarding service yet but will definitely not hesitate if needed to. Their app allows viewing of the playtime areas so you can virtually check to see how the pups are doing as well which is a huge win I think for dog parents. Teddy is an elder dog now so he likes being alone which Candlewick also accommodates for dogs who need to board solo. Overall great services, and super friendly staff! Thanks from me and Teddy!
Really great kennel. Staff always so attentive and on top of everything. Love the organization. Staff are also so very nice to me and to my girl Finley. I feel she is getting the best care and attention at Candlewick Kennels. Would highly recommend.
I Needed to board my 5 month old kitten Riley as I was going way for a few days. My good friend recommended Candlewick Kennels. The website made it easy to book her stay. Any extra information they needed they reached out via email/ phone call. Julia who had checked my pet in was very curtious, friendly & knowledgable on all questions i had asked. When I was away I was able to text them everday to check in on my pet., and received a text back within minutes. They also sent me a picture of my kitten. I was amazed at the huge facility & interior of this establishment. This is a very well run business. With exceptional customer service from the staff. I highly recommend this establishment! I will in the future being using this facility.
