Great location, great hosts, and a great kitty! Communications were good, the home was comfortable and clean. The views were stunning and I absolutely loved the blooming plants and cacti in the neighborhood. Phantom was good company and purred a lot. She would come out to find me several times a day but spent a lot of time sleeping in the master bedroom. Oh, and a funny roadrunner ran through the garden regularly.

This was a great sit, located in a quiet area (nature's calls and stargazing were excellent) with two lovable and lovely pooches. JD and Rizz are adorable together, playing like toddlers - JD sometimes growls when excited (ie. guarding a toy in his mouth), but both are perfectly harmless and will listen to basic commands.
JD walks well, giving clear signals when he's done and wants to go home. He did his business without prompt when put on the line in the backyard and generally isn't triggered by external influences and loves meeting people. Very food-driven and will do whatever you ask for treats, haha.
Rizz is also like a toddler, or a very strong big baby. You can tell by his puppy-like demeaner and big brown eyes that he just wants to be loved. Both are velcro, but Rizz is like a second shadow, glued to your side! A very smart boy who also loves toys and treats (whatever JD is getting, basically).
On walks and while outside, Rizz can be very energetic, best to get him to sit and calm down before leaving. I didn't notice reactivity to cars, but Rizz was easily excitable by birds, even ones flying overhead! He walks well with a Halti guard and gentle leader harness as back-up, but can sometimes regress when tempted by a nearby trigger (ie birds or other dogs). Having treats on hand helped him focus and re-center, especially since he's currently recovering from surgery and not supposed exercise excessively. There was definitely a marked improvement from the first walk to the last!
It was helpful to have had an orientation prior to the sit, including notice that the house uses well water (tap is potable but has a distinct smell and colour), so bottled water was graciously provided, and not to use air fryer and microwave simultaneously as it will trip the breaker.
The only reason for not giving full stars is, I believe there's always room for improvement (nobody's perfect), and Rizz will become the perfect dog once he gains more calm confidence with practice on leash, helping him to burn off extra energy in a safe and healthy way :)

Kingsley was such a lovely and easy going cat. As soon as I walked in the door he was there to say hello and often he would snuggle up beside us for cuddles. He has a cat flap so went in and out when he liked. Though we didn’t meet Lydia and Dan before we arrived, Lydia made the process easy. Communication via WhatsApp was great! It’s a cool part of London with some nice coffee shops etc and regular buses/trains if you want to go into central London. We really enjoyed the sit and would love to look after lovely Kingsley again ☺️

I had a fabulous time looking after gorgeous Cody. He's an absolute joy! Very sweet natured and loving, as well as huge fun (and well trained) to walk with. I really enjoyed exploring the local countryside with him, and settling down to relax with him in the evenings.

Yvonne was a wonderful host.. Her home is beautiful, very comfortable and I felt very welcomed by her. She left excellent instructions, including suggestions for walks, and even the best fish and chip shop (she was right!). The location is perfect, a good mix of countryside and shops, and easily accessible.

I would definitely recommend a sit at Yvonne's house - and please make sure you give Cody a tummy rub for me. He's one of those dogs that you miss after you leave...

We had a lovely time looking after Soju, he is such an easy to care for, intelligent, affectionate sweet little thing who follows you around everywhere and enjoys snuggles on the couch.
Edmund and Viki are friendly people we found it easy to communicate with, they left us excellent information about Soju and the surrounding area.
We would love to return to sit Soju again in their clean bright airy apartment in central Bamberg
