Cat Sitters in Alger, WA

Angela is a kind person and she did her best to take care of my two cats Kanye and Pablo, however we did have one quite traumatic experience for both sides which made me lose trust in her as a reliable and honest sitter unfortunately. My cats are pure indoor cats and we live on the 5th and 6th floor with 2 terraces (they aren’t allowed to go out there). 
One night Angela accidentally didn’t close the downstairs terrace door fully which caused the door to open and my cats getting out and Kanye ran further away two houses down along the terraces which she noticed in the morning as the door was open and the cat was missing. 
From my perspective: While I was on holiday I checked my phone in the morning around 10:30am and saw photos being posted on our house WhatsApp group „who this friendly ginger cat belongs to“ and I had a full panic attack that my cat has escaped and I wasn’t notified by Angela. I wrote her immediately and only then did she care to explain the situation and what happened… I was so upset that she didn’t notify me immediately so I could help her and try and find my cat through my neighbours… that made me think that she wouldn’t have been open and honest with me unless the cat didn’t come back itself. Her next step would’ve been to call the police before calling me which to me is absolute nonsense. She would’ve probably never said openly that anything happened if he would’ve returned fine by himself but I found out through my neighbours which were extremely kind and helped her get the cat back to the flat safely. 
And I know mistakes can happen and I am not one to hold a grudge but only if they are openly communicated.
Up until that point I was happy with the pet / house care provided by Angela. She gave updates daily and took good care of our plants. 
My trust in her was lost from the incident onwards and didn’t improve when I returned home to two extremely hungry cats. They were alone for a while before so normal level of hunger is to be expected but they were starved as it seemed because on that evening alone they had 6 sachets in addition to the two Angela gave in the morning which is nearly double of what they would usually eat. Also their water fountain wasn’t filled up frequently it seemed. I discussed all this with Angela too and she did say she followed the feeding instructions and spent a lot of time with the cats so this might’ve been a weird coincidence but didn’t help my already broken trust.  
Angela knows this and I know that this all ended in the wrong light. I am sure Angela is a great sitter usually but this was an absolute red flag for me but I am sure after this experience she will aim to do better and be honest and open in case mistakes happen in the future with other sits. I wish her the very best!

Laura is quite an awesome lady!  We hung out the evening before my trip and had a blast getting to know each other.  She took wonderful care of our two pups and our home while we were away, sending lots of pics and checking in as needed.  We came home to happy pups and a very clean home.  I will definitely be inviting Laura back for future stays.
