Heidi and Allan are the perfect hosts! Their two fabulous cats, Nico and Jimmy are a delight to care for and it was indeed a wonderful experience and an absolute privilege to stay with these two fun loving kittens. Heidi and Allan's immaculate home offers many comforts and is set in the midst of the most scenic and peaceful English countryside. It was lovely to keep in touch with my hosts during their visit to Scotland and I look forward to our ongoing friendship. Thank you Heidi and Allan so much for this opportunity, your wonderful hospitality and very kind generosity :) Anthony
I loved my sit at Heather's place! Samantha is a funny little dog: she's mellow, wants to be with you all the time, snoozy, a real character. On walks, she's mostly a shuffler, stopping to sniff everything and often just...stopping completely. :) She has a vocabulary of grunts and growls to let you know how she's feeling, and would follow me from room to room. I really enjoyed my time with her. About the only thing to know is that she gets excited by the feral cats in the neighborhood and cars (and for some hilarious reason, taking out the trash?!), and she'll bark and pull at the leash. At 15 pounds, though, and with a retractable leash, she's really easy to control (I'm a small adult, and I had no problems with this, so please don't let that put you off petsitting her). It's funnier more than anything. Heather's hospitality was really kind, including the niceties like making space in the dresser and fridge for my things. She's also got a plethora of beachy things for you to borrow, like beach chairs and coolers, which is really generous. The place is incredibly located steps to the Atlantic ocean, and I would walk Samantha on the beach at sunrise/dawn, which was just beautiful. The house has what you need for a comfortable stay, and if you're working remotely, the internet is fast and flawless. You can watch the sunsets from the back deck. Thanks, Heather (& Jamie)!
I had such a nice time in Hastings at Elizabeth's home. Pudding and Pumpkin are very lovely cats, a bit shy at first, but once they trust you they'll let you pet them. Elizabeth was really welcoming and thoughtful, before and during my stay. Her home is beautiful, super comfortable, with very nice views, and located within a walking distance from the old town and the beach. I'd happily come back here :)
We very much enjoyed our few days in St Kilda looking after Felix. Felix quickly seemed to get used to us and had boundless energy, especially in the mornings. He often amused us by his antics when he played with his toys. Felix liked human company and would sit beside us. Billie was an excellent communicator. We had clear instructions of what was needed and the flat was quiet, spacious and clean and tidy. We were easily able to walk to the supermarket, trams and train also the cafes nearby. I would certainly recommend this housesit.
We spent a lovely week in the company of Tiffin who was totally adorable and a great companion as we explored the area. Tiffin is a typical spaniel, into everything, always wanting to play, explore or accept a tummy rub. Out on walks, she was amazing, spending most of her time (when safe) off the lead. Her recall to her whistle was 100% which was reassuring given that horses and cattle were moving between the fields we walked through. Once we had become used to each other, she would often be away from us, checking the hedgerows or long grass for anything of interest, but would then run back to us, making sure we were OK, or return immediately when whistled for. After her walks, Tiffin relaxed and would often sleep on her bed. During the evening she was lovely company and usually sat with us on the sofa watching TV. She had her own large crate where she slept at night and would happily spend short periods of time if she was being over-exuberant when we were cooking or eating. Tiffin accompanied us to a pub and also to friends for lunch. On both occasions, she was well-behaved. The house, and our bedroom with en-suite, were extremely comfortable, spotlessly clean and warm with the feeling of being a cosy and happy family home. There were plentiful supplies of everything for Tiffin and we were left with appropriate instructions plus contact numbers should the unforeseen arise. We arrived the day before the family departed, so we had plenty of time to be shown around and understand the house. Richard and Ceri were extremely welcoming and made us feel at home as soon as we arrived. Communication before and during the sit was excellent; we felt well supported throughout. We highly recommend this sit and would happily return to spend more time with such a lovely companion. Thank you for choosing us.
