Mori and Louie were friendly and easy going. We loved watching them play and snuggle together. The place was warm, comfortable, and conveniently located near bart, grocery stores and shopping.
Mark has a lovely home and his dog Amber is a sweetheart and a joy to be around. Mark was also very hospitable and welcoming. I gave 4 out of 5 stars because there were a lot of chores; 5 pages of instructions on caring for the house and Amber, to be exact. There was a full page of notes on their bird feeders alone, which was not listed under responsibilities. I also wasn't told upfront that I was expected to feed Amber at 6:30am. I would recommend sharing that information with potential sitters at the outset, as I'm sure most people don't plan to get up that early on vacation.
Had a fabulous stay at Tessa and Nigel's looking after the wonder dog Waffle. She was such a delight and so easy to look after. She definitely lives up to her breed being a "velcro dog". Tessa did say that Waffle will attach her to one of us which was definitely true, not wanting to leave James's side. She was such a character, loving play with her toys, out walking on the lead and having great recall when off running after rabbits at the Devils Punch Bowl which is an outstanding National Trust property just a short drive away. Tessa and Nigel were fabulous hosts making us a lovely supper when we arrived, having a lovely evening chatting and showing us around their beautiful home and explaining all about Waffle which was backed up with a comprehensive guide of the house, details of Waffle and including details of walks in the area. Tessa drove us to some of the areas where they walk Waffle which was very handy. Haslemere is a lovely small village within walking distance to a few independent shops and cafes, one of the cafes we went to every day. Everyone in the village was very friendly. Tessa and Nigels house is beautiful and very comfortable and well equipped, there was nothing that we didn't need. On the plus side, being the hottest week this year we managed to use their pool most days. Tessa was the main point of contact and we chatted before the sit and she was always on the end of the phone if needed at any time (not that she was needed). If anyone is considering a sit here anytime do not hesitate. If we were asked again to resit we would be more than happy to do so.
Fabulously relaxing house sit. Both Laura and Chris were so warm, friendly, welcoming and generous. Their two adorable cats, Tilly and Luna made the sit very special, with Luna hogging all the attention in the evening to Tilly being queen of our bed. In the warm weather that we had Tilly also came to sit next to us on the patio. We enjoyed some lovely days out. It’s a lovely area and Laura and Chris’s house is so well placed to explore that area of Norfolk. Super friendly neighbours too, which is always nice. We’d highly recommend this house sit. Thank you Laura and Chris for making it one of our most relaxing sits.
The housesit was actually in Strood which is on the northside of the Medway. By crossing the bridge you are in Rochester which has all the beauty of an old medieval and Victorian town. Strood is the opposite of cosy England by the way. As Stuart’s and Ade’s house is on the northern part of Strood it lies rather high. The higher view from Broomhill Park is spectacular. And some of the walks towards the centre of Strood give this view as well while you go downhill. The way back is a bit heavier. Stuart was at the station to drive me to the house so no uphill walking to start with. The house is very pretty and has all modern comfort. Nice living room with woodburner and fantastic tv screen. Kitchen is splendid as well as the guest bedroom and bathroom. Slightly problem with the central heating which produced an irritating sound, although it produced enough warmth to be comfortable in the house. The three cats are lovely and a pleasure to care for. They gave a lot of love and were very easy to be with. Spending the Christmas season in Stuart’s and Ade’s house was fine. The presents under the Christmas tree were lovely, so many thanks. To sum it up, a fine and comfortable house with three sweet cats. But on the other end the noise of the heating system was a bit spoiling the pleasure of the housesit. Still five stars for I am sure the problem with the central heating will definitely be solved and repaired.
Courtney’s place is cuuuute. She was a great communicator and very generous with her space. Khan is chill chill chill, he loves hanging in his backyard, going on car rides, and walking & sniffing. I don’t know if I ever even heard him bark. Chill doggo! He and my dog made great playmates and shared space with no issues. My fav was sleeping between both of them and I always encouraged him to hop up (he was also fine not doing this). Note that there is no tv, but Courtney has a great book selection and strong wifi for streaming on a laptop or otherwise. I go back this week for another stay! Definitely recommend.
