Oh my! This housesit was absolutely wonderful. From the location, beautiful home, gracious hosts and most of all Bays, the affectionate golden who loved his time in the water. Jim and Sue were so welcoming and treated us to a delicious meal where we got familiar with the particulars of the stay and became quick friends. All the details of our stay were worked out perfectly. Especially appreciated was the effort into guiding us on local tips. From great walks to take with Bays to eateries and vineyards, this was a special housesit and one we’d highly recommend. Bays loves to be nearby and is very affectionate and a good cuddler. He is a napkin thief so pay close attention while you dine! We loved playing with him in the water - his favorite activity. He’s a classic golden retriever, looking to bring you items every morning to show he’s ready to start the day. Loves car rides and generally just wants to be with you. We’re so appreciative to have been chosen for this stay and now consider Jim and Sue friends we hope to keep in touch with.
A most lovely and enjoyable experience from start to finish! Tina and I communicated several times via video call and WhatsApp before the sit. From 'meeting' and speaking with Tina, we knew this was going to be a really positive, welcoming and homely sit with two very special and beautifully-natured fury friends. We couldn't have expected more! Tina, Kev, Gracie & Isla made us feel so welcome upon our arrival. Tina, gave us a tour of their gorgeous bungalow and gardens, pointing out various helpful bits and pieces along the way. All of the dogs food was already portioned up and anything else relating to their care was noted down and/or shown to us. Similarly, Tina and Kev had put together a very helpful and thorough guide to their home and local area allowing us to fully embrace the experience and ensure we could take the very best of care of the dogs and home as well as feel comfortable and at ease. Gracie and Isla are beautiful, kind, calm, lovable and incredibly well-behaved souls. Each with their unique quirks and personalities, which we got to know and adore over the course of the sit. My, rather sensitive, 5 year old daughter, whilst a lover of dogs, can get a little overwhelmed by excitable dogs, which Gracie and Isla were not! Within an hour of arriving, Etta, Gracie and Isla were inseparable. We all enjoyed hanging out together at the bungalow and in the stunning garden. We had lots of cuddles, play time (Gracie loves her ball) and short walks from the door. Although we didn't feel the need to leave the bungalow (as it was so lovely and comfortable), we did go into Beverley and also visit William's Den. Both of which were excellent and well worth a visit. Gracie and Isla were absolutely fine been left for a few hours, but it was a pleasure to come home to them both again. Etta also enjoyed feeding the fish each morning and watering the garden, which was so tranquil and pretty. We communicated throughout the sit and each shared photos of what we were all up to. It felt like we were sitting for close friends or family. Tina and Kev together with Gracie and Isla made this a very special and memorable experience. We would not hesitate to help out again should the opportunity arise. Beautiful people, beautiful dogs, beautiful home and gardens, beautiful part of the world. There wasn't anything not to like!
I don't have enough good things to say about Tamara, the cats (of course! Who ever has anything bad to say about cats?), and this sit. From the moment I met Tamara over FaceTime, she was warm, welcoming, and a clear and efficient communicator. I was not able to meet her in the beginning or at the end of the sit; despite this, instructions were thorough, key handoff was easy (she had her friends arrange to meet me), and despite being several hours ahead in Europe, she was *extremely* responsive. It was a very straightforward sit, and I can say that I got thoroughly attached to both Ophelia and Nina, who are each perfect in their own way. Ophelia has a couple of respiratory issues (perhaps there is a better word), but I felt completely equipped to care for her with the instructions, inhaler, and meds that were left. It really was a non-issue and very easy to administer these. Tamara and her partner's apartment is thoughtfully decorated, and it really was the perfect place to stay. Nina and Ophelia kept me great company over the holidays, and I'm thankful to Tamara for trusting me with her home and her furry ones. If you get invited to do this sit—jump on it!
The stay at Clémentine's house even exceeded our expectations. Aside from being a super sweet and approachable person, his communication with her has always been excellent and reliable. The house has everything you could need, large and cozy. In addition, 15 minutes walk from the center, the neighborhood is charming, full of terraces and close to cheaper supermarkets. Although Rico is the star of the experience!! He stole our hearts in the first hours together, he is a 13-year-old man who loves caresses and will always want to be by your side. Playful (as far as his energy allows him) and sincerely, he will make your stay in the city a 10. Clémentine & Rico have become true friends who, without a doubt, we will see again and help, if possible in the future. 5 stars although we would give it many more!!
