Helen and Mark made us feel very welcome in their lovely housewhich was both comfortable and practical. We were treated to pizza on our arrival and had good comms with our hosts throughout. We particularly enjoyed the comfort of the king sized bed and both drawer/wardrobe space along with hangers. The sofas downstairs were also very comfortable and the kitchen was well equipped and organized. Charlie was a lovely dog to care for and gave us no trouble whatsoever. He made a happy companion for our 2 shetland sheepdogs and did very well on walks despite having the shortest legs ! Wherever we went Charlie made friends, loving people and pets in equal measures. The house is nicely located for lots of activities and over a long weekend we enjoyed Prestatyn, Loggerheads country park near Mold, walks and beaches on the Wirral along with Chester and a couple of shopping malls and local walks. We look forward to the opportunity of sitting Charlie again some time and would highly recommend this sit to any dog lover.
I had a great time staying in Lübeck taking care of Moggy and Merlin. Both cats are very friendly and Moggy is very cuddly and affectionate. The surrounding nature is gorgeous and Lübeck city isn’t far either. Sybille let me use her bike which was great to explore the surroundings. I can definitely recommend the sit.
The hand over has been quicker than in our previous sits : we arrived to Julien and Ivo's flat at 4.15 PM and they were leaving themselves to the airport at 5.30. We had taken a taxi from Atocha train station in order to have time to meet them, which was not necessary : their home is only 15 minutes on foot (we had been warned but our suitcases were heavy...) When we left Madrtid, we took a very close bus (the 55) to Atocha : the bus station is only a few meters away from the building The area is central, close to the historical center, 2 metro stops only from the SOL station. There are supermarkets and small restaurants around. Many buses and Embajadores metro are nearby which allow to visit easily Madrid. Julien showed us quickly what we had to do but we had already received many detailed infos via Whatsapp with useful photos. As Julien is french and us too, communication between us was very easy later on viz Whatsapp. The pets were very nice : Frijol, a very big black cat has been adopted to keep company to Leon. The 2 felines play together, go often to the terrace, through a catflap (where the litter stays). When they are walking on the edge, we felt a little anxious : it's on the 8th floor ! Frijol and Leon adopted us very quickly, joining us on the bed (there was no door in "our" bedroom), or on the sofa when we were watching TV. We cuddled them a lot and they seemed to love it. The flat is small but functional. You must only pay attention to a few things : to the shower in order not to provoke a flood (the flow is very low, the shower floor very flat), to the gas boiler (it keeps often on security, you need then to put more water in it otherwise heating stops) and to the dehumidifier (necessary to dry the bedroom) We were asked to water the various plants but we did not need to do it often : it was raining a lot during our stay at Easter, unfortunately we could not appreciate as much the lovely colored terrace / we enjoyed the panoramic view but saw more rainbows than sun ! Small downside; we would have liked a little space to store our clothes (not a single mat rack, not a drawer at our disposal). And also that the cats' filthy litter box was cleaned upon our arrival...
George and Eddie are so lovely to sit for and perfect evening companions if you like to snuggle up and relax at night. They’re very chilled dogs and connected with us really quickly. We were able to work from home and they were happy to mostly sleep whilst we worked and play or have cuddles during our breaks. They love going on walks and there are beautiful walks straight from the doorstep or just a short drive away. Communication with Carole was brilliant and she made us feel really welcome and gave us tips, including places to walk. Carole’s house is beautiful, really clean and spacious. It has all the facilities you need with a well equipped kitchen, as well as an amazing garden. We miss the boys already, give them a cuddle from us.
Angus is the most loving cat we’ve ever met, he loves a cuddle at any time of the day which made looking after him just a dream. Lawrence had great communication and gave loads of detail about the house both beforehand and when we arrived. We had a wonderful time in Clapham (amazing location for both transport and cafes/pubs) and would absolutely recommend Angus & Lawrence to any future sitters.
Nicole and Jason's home is truly amazing, and so are their delightful cats, Zoe and TS. These cats are incredibly sweet and low-maintenance. Zoe enjoys following you around, while TS often graces you with her presence, descending the stairs after her sleep. It's absolutely heartwarming to watch them play with their assortment of toys. The house is situated in a safe and tranquil neighborhood, conveniently close to the historic Savage Mill and a nearby trail—definitely worth a visit if you are in the area.
