We love working with Niviece. This is our second time. She provides wonderful updates and leaves our place in a very tidy and neat condition. Hilo is happy getting to go on hikes out and about
Stayed here for almost three weeks with a few days break in between to see family for Christmas. Both Erin and Tim were really friendly and welcoming. Communicated back and forth with Erin throughout the trip and she was always so helpful and responsive. Peanut and Jerry are honestly the most sweetest cats. Peanut has allergies and had a flare up at the time we were there, needing medication and cream on daily and also had to wear a cone to stop him from scratching. He is the most gentle cat and allowed us to care for him with no problems. Jerry was a little more reserved so took a little longer than Peanut to warm to us but he did and is also so sweet and gentle. The apartment was a really lovely space, very big, amazing balcony which we spent lots of time on and just had a really homely vibe. Overall a great experience and we will honestly miss Peanut and Jerry. Thanks guys :) x
Jim & Jen made me feel very welcome and at home in their cosy house in Saltdean. The house is super cute with a lovely back garden to enjoy (when the weather is good!). A short walk and you are able to get down to the beach or up to the South Downs with great views in all directions. With easy access to Brighton this sit has the best of both worlds - city and countryside! Anouska was such a sweet girl to look after. At first, she was a little shy and it took her a while to warm up to me but after a day she was following me everywhere. She is super gentle and a great communicator so will tell you when she needs out for a wee or that it's breakfast time! I highly recommend sitting for Jim and Jen. If you haven't been to Brighton before it's a great place to explore from. I would definitely look after Anouska again in the future :)
Driving out to Carson from Portland for the first time, we took the southern route along the Oregon border and crossed over the Columbia using the Bridge of the Gods into Washington. The winding, tree lined drive along the north side of the river was something we did a number of times as we ventured out to explore the area and it never got old. Having been a previous Washington resident, the Pacific NW is an area I've always been fond of. It only got better when we arrived at Tim and Anne's beautiful home in the woods. Nestled above the nexus of two adjoining creeks, and surrounded by trees, the soothing sounds of nature at its most raw are inescapable. No wonder Tiger and Loki are outdoor cats; if I was a cat living out here, I would be too! In fact, the biggest challenge was getting them to spend time with us. They would usually be out exploring, yet always came back around dinner time for food and love. Only once did I have to go shaking the treat jar to get Loki to come home before dark after a full day of adventures. Speaking of, Tiger loves his treats and will hilariously chase them across the floor like prey, eating them with great vigor once pinned. Although Carson itself is small, the Backwoods Brewery has lots of local beers and a fantastic Italian sandwich, plus it's just a skip down the road to Stevenson, where you can find a grocery store, but most importantly Granny Gedunk's Ice Cream and Bigfoot Coffee, the latter housed in what looks like a converted gas station, so it's even more impressive how awesome it is. Tim and Anne's house has the most awe inspiring view of any kitchen sink window I've had the pleasure to gaze from while doing dishes and a diverse garden area out front, through which I went grazing a few times while watering the grounds. If you're looking for a place to unplug and get away from it all, they've got everything you need to do it right.
Sitting for Kylee's pets was an absolute pleasure, Kylee was so easy to chat to and gave plenty of information prior to the sit. The house and pets were beautiful, it was a very comfortable place to stay at in an amazing location. Kylee was so nice to offer to use the bikes and paddleboard that she had there too. Overall was a fantastic sit, would highly recommend!
Jen is lovely and very helpful. Her pets are gorgeous and so friendly. We look forward to caring for them again next month!
