Nellie is a truly sweet dog who stole my heart in about five minutes! She is energetic and adores her tug toy (and will bring you every toy from her box to get you to play) but she can also snooze contentedly on the sofa or in the sun on the back patio or beside you at night. Her lovely, affectionate nature is a credit to Lisa's care. Lisa knows her dog's every quirk so I was prepared for her to be reactive on leash but we were lucky on our neighborhood walks to rarely encounter other dogs/cats and so she was very calm and easy I loved the amazing vistas from the steep hilltops. The highlight for me was taking Nellie to the local dog beach - she has perfect recall and is so focussed on splashing in the water to retrieve the balls/digging pits for them in the sand it feels like it's just you, her and the most glorious coastal setting. Lisa is welcoming and easy-breezy, her place is immaculate and she responded instantly to any questions so I do indeed highly recommend this sit. (And the empanadas at the Farmers Market on Thursday night!)
What a wonderful house sit! We wish there was a way to give them 10 stars. Tania and Mike are awesome pet parents and went above and beyond to make sure our stay was enjoyable. Arriving a day early really gave us a chance to spend time with them and learn more about their pets' daily routine. They gave us a lovely tour of their beautiful home that overlooks a man-made lake. We never got tired of watching the ducks and other wildlife from the screened-in lanai. The guest bedroom had the most comfortable bed, an ensuite bathroom and an alcove, or sitting area, where we could watch TV or read a good book. There was even a Keurig machine with an ample supply of K-cups. We felt like we were staying in a suite at the Ritz Carlton. Now on to their two very special pups, Ollie and Electra! It was love at first sight. We found them both to be adorable, friendly, smart, sweet, and so well mannered. Electra is an affectionate Pomeranian who loves to cuddle and be by your side. Ollie, being a Cane Corso may be intimidating at first but trust me, he is a gentle giant with a heart of gold. He loves to cuddle in his own way by sitting on the floor next to you as close as possible. And will give you the cutest look when he wants to be petted. Electra is very generous with her kisses. She loves massages, which I call her "spa days". Ollie enjoys belly rubs and sunbathing in the backyard. And rain or shine, they both love to go out for their walks. If you ever get the chance to housesit for the Frey family, be prepared because Ollie and Electra will steal your heart and keep you entertained. Also, the Kingsley Creek neighborhood is very quiet with lots of sidewalks to safely walk the dogs. There's even a community pool across the street. Lots of restaurants (V Pizza was our fav) and stores like Target, Walmart and Publix nearby. And if you love the beach, Amelia Island is just a short drive away. This housesit is highly recommended! Many thanks to Tania and Mike for choosing us and we hope to get the opportunity to housesit for them again very soon.
Berkeley and Cleo are such great pet companions! They have their own unique friendship which was nice to observe and yet they know when it's time to be left alone. Berkeley loves his green ball and likes to have his playtime with it in the cool downstairs. Cleo has many favorite spots around the home to curl up and nap, some of them are where you were just sitting. Cleo is a talker and I enjoyed talking to/with her. The neighborhood is pet friendly with many dog stations for getting new bags and dropping off used bags. Lots of trees for walking on the shady side of the street, too. Makes it nice for furry Berkeley. Gretchen and Fernando were welcoming hosts and made sure I knew everything about the house and pets. I arrived still using crutches from my previous sit, and they made sure I had help with walks for the first part of the sit. After that I was able to use my knee and walk Berkeley. Fort Collins is a great Colorado town with plenty of trails, parks, nice downtown and art centric. Seems like where ever you drive there is the view of the foothills and mountains.
This was the best pet & house sitting experience I’ve had so far! I arrived at Jennifer and Pete’s the night before the sit started because they had an early morning departure the next day. Both were very friendly, gracious and welcoming. Jennifer went out of her way to show me the house and provided clear written instructions for everything. The dogs are incredibly sweet. Hagrid is an endearing old man. Dobby is cuddly and loves connection. They are well behaved, respond to commands and are easy to look after. My main job was to make sure they went outside to play every couple of hours. Thank you Jennifer and Pete for receiving me like a princess! I would repeat this sit in a heartbeat. Good people. Nice house. Adorable dogs.
Jamie was very welcoming, and I felt at home. Cooper is a lovely dog, thanks for giving us a great stay.
It was truly a dream to house sit for Rachel! The best part is Huck and Oliver as they are both sweet and loving dogs and truly enjoy being outdoors. During the sit, Rachel was friendly and easy to communicate with. It was super helpful to have the very detailed welcome guide. Rachel’s home is comfy, tidy and the backyard is just wonderful. The location is central and easy to get around. The boys are well trained and I enjoyed taking them to the dog park and spending time in the backyard. Rachel was so very thoughtful and caring during the sit. I would highly recommend this house sit to anyone!
