Christina and Andrew made sure we were settled in well, before they took off. They showed us different places for eating, drinking and grocery shopping. As it was winter and Covid-19 still being active, not all restaurants or mini-markets were open. So it was good to know where we could go to. They also introduced us to several of their friends. Regarding the dogs, they made sure we got to know them well before leaving. Andrew also showed us the different places we could take the dogs to for their daily walks. Rosie does need a bit of time to get to know you, but once she does like and trust you, she turns into the cutest dog ever. Sonny is the older one, who loves to receive massages and cuddles. They both enjoy their daily walks, especially the ones on the beach. Kevin, the female stray dog, quickly learned that we were good people but kept her distance. We enjoyed her running towards her feeding place once she heard the car was coming. The house is comfortable with various places to work and unwind, both inside and outside the house. In the evening, we enjoyed their fire place and watched some nice movies (from their dvd collection) on the large tv screen. Their house is surrounded by olive trees, and the beach is only a 5minute ride away. Whenever we had a question, Christina and Andrew responded quickly. They also kept us up-to-date regarding their own travel plans. Conclusion? We had a wonderful time at what we called the Sonny-Rosie Spa Resort.
To say that sitting Hector, Mario, Rocky and Simba was delightful, would be quite understated! We were immediately greeted most warmly by Louise, the lovely pet mom, and her four furry friends accepted us as part of their wicked little crew in no time. The house is welcoming, quiet, comfortable, has an extensively equipped kitchen and we were granted access to an amazing collection of books as well as to using the tv with all its head whirling settings. So far so charmed, we want to highlight that Hector is such a quirky, charismatic, cuddly dog – we miss him and think of him often. Rocky's probably the most adventurous house cat we have ever met, rather aware of his little bell, he will try his best at being as silent as a mouse while scavenging for nibbles. Mario is best friends with Hector, immediately joining him for his first round through the garden and teaching him cat wisdom before sharing a couch nap. And Simba surprised us by throwing himself on the floor meowing until he got his belly rub, collecting ham nibbles and disappearing promptly into the garden wilderness. They all love an extensive cuddle and brushing session every once in a while, but they keep up a comfortable independence. Walking through the woods with Hector is good fun, he will bark at running or cycling people, considering it an invitation for play, as he does it with dogs as well. Mostly though, he will just be really excited and curious, looking for fairies or lost treats, responding very well to the command "place" in case he roams a little further than anticipated. Treat ready, he's an easy pup to handle :) Thank you again, Louise and Andreas, for the warm welcome and the lovely time we had, thank you also for the trust!
I had a great stay with Marley and Sugar! Christen and her family are wonderful people—they've been very helpful, accommodating, and hospitable. Sugar is an incredibly sweet pup who will quickly become your friend. She will follow you wherever you go and cuddle with you as much as possible. Marley is a sweetheart, though she might take a minute to warm up to you. Just invite her for a walk, and you’ll be besties! And then there are the chickens—they are so much fun and make the best morning alarm clock. Christen and her family live in a nice neighborhood in a beautiful part of the island. Thank you so much!
I would highly recommend this sit! Mary and Mike are very communicative and sweet. Zoey is a character and Penny will steal your heart from the first moment you meet. The surroundings are gorgeous. I was truly delighted to see the variety of birds that visit Mary and Mike’s feeders right outside the windows. Just be prepared to miss Penny when you leave! She is a darling, and you’ll have so much fun spending time with her!
We finished our visit at Lynne's house, a beautiful experience where we were able to meet Maddigan and Naia. Maddigan and Naia are two adorable dogs, you will love them from minute one, the girls' welcome is simply love, kisses and a lot of joy at meeting new friends. Maddigan and Naia will steal your heart and it will be difficult for you to say goodbye. The time you share with the girls will be great, you will enjoy them, they are very fun. They love looking out the window and seeing the squirrels and birds, I assure you that you will want to be with her watching, it is very relaxing. Lynne's house has it all, you will have everything you need in a quiet environment and in a beautiful house. Lynne is very organized and will leave you all the instructions, she will make you feel at home. Very close in about 15 minutes you have a shopping center, where you have different stores, including a large supermarket and the always reliable Dollallama. You also have the 55 bus stop in about 12 minutes that connects you to the city center and enjoy Ottawa. It is an ideal place to relax or work from home, the girls will be happy with you. And I assure you that when the time comes to say goodbye, you will leave a piece of your heart stolen from you. Thank you very much Lynne for letting us take care of the girls, we hope to return one day.
It was great watching over Tempi, Catche and Memi over the holiday season!!! Marti’s and Kiona’s flat was great! The cats are great company and a delight to spend time with and take care of. The flat has all you need for your stay and there are plenty of shops and transportation links nearby! Will definitely come again!! Gracias!
