This was a lovely pet sit. Lisa is the most wonderful, loving, soulful dog, who loves to be by your side. Tasca is lovely too, very affectionate, but also enjoying her naps alone in her favourite spots. Nancy was very welcoming and communicative. She has a lovely home with the most beautiful sunrise beach views, it was a real bonus to enjoy these in the morning from the bedroom terrace. Thanks Nancy 😊
Amy’s apartment is bright, comfortable and clean, and in a historic neighborhood with lots of places to walk. It is near the downtown area and there was a street festival there during my stay. Her shower pressure was wonderful and the kitchen and bathroom left nothing to be desired. Her bed was new and comfortable. I am not an apartment dweller so there were some things to get used to going on around me-just normal comings and goings. Dulce means sweet, and he definitely is that, but he is not the easiest dog to sit for. The first few days were fraught with worry because he sat by the door, whined a lot, refused to eat, and had difficulty producing any bowel movements when he tried on our walks. This got better as he adjusted and seemed to enjoy his meals of wet food only. His habit was to drink and then eat after we returned from our walks. He would not eat any kibble with his food for me, but seemed to enjoy the Farmers Dog food well enough. I would call him a “grazer”- eating small amounts throughout the day. I expected the frequent walks and late-night potty outings- he needed at least one middle of the night outing to relieve himself and if his stirring from the bed didn’t wake me, a bark did the trick. After dark he was happy to relieve himself and come back inside. He was obviously having some separation anxiety but was always happy to sleep by me and enjoy cuddles and attention. We enjoyed many walks and he was happy to visit with the neighbors whenever we saw them, which was often, On the third day he began to eat more and as a result his poops were produced more regularly, but still very small for a dog of his size and quite hard. Most walks he both peed and pooped. He was very quiet all week, only barking a couple of times to let me know that he needed to go out. He was a very loving dog who enjoyed snuggling while we napped, or I worked from the couch, or watched TV. I was thoroughly prepared for him by Amy but nonetheless it was a lot more outings than what I am used to with my own 12 year old dogs. I am lucky to have a yard to just open the door to, so for me this was an adjustment.
This was a fantastic sit! Teddy and Charlie were great fun to look after and the house is absolutely stunning. Many thanks, Kathy, for choosing us to sit for you. We loved it.
