What a fabulous 3 weeks spent with the lovely Chica! Alain & Victoria couldn't have made us feel more welcome when we went and met Chica, and were constantly contactable should we need anything. A wonderful house situated in a mass of green space on the Chilterns, which made exercising Chica a joy every day. Chica has a beautiful sol and is well behaved (particularly when she realises you are the keeper of the chicken), and after a particularly challenging day at work, her affection was a lovely tonic. If you are lucky enough to get the opportunity to sit for Chica, I would highly recommend that you do!
Sitting for Angela and the adorable Noodles is a pure delight. Angela’s place in Sevenoaks is beautiful, warm and comfortable. Angela made me feel so at home immediately, I felt like a part of the family. You couldn’t ask for a better host, and I’m happy to now call Angela a dear friend. Noodles is a cheeky, beautiful cat who loves a snuggle and a scratch. We had some great times together, enjoying a cuppa and a quiet night in while watching his favourite shows. ;) The area is beautiful, with Otford station not far away and plenty of nearby amenities. Angela’s neighbours are also wonderfully friendly and helpful, and there’s a real community atmosphere that you just don’t see in other places. I also met some of Angela’s friends, who were so warm and friendly and made me feel as though I’d been there for years. Thank you Angela for the most wonderful few weeks with you and lovely Noodles. I can’t wait to come back soon and catch up!
We spent four days looking after Luna in May. Pipp and Neil were so hospitable, accommodating and generous, and we felt at home in the house straight away. It was easy to find, comfortable and all the descriptions were accurate. Luna is a very handsome, self contained cat, and kept himself to himself for the first day, but soon got back into his routine and was no trouble. The village of Glenridding and the situation is gorgeous. Everything Luna needed was provided. Thanks to Pipp and Neil for a lovely sit.
We loved looking after Eugene and Zuri - they are boisterous, engaging, lovable dogs! They are large strong dogs and need confident handling - but then they are a joy! Tatanya and Pavel made sure we could handle the dogs and knew their quirks before they left. Their home is lovely and set in a beautiful area - with olenty of walks straight from the house. Would recommend this sit to anyone with experience of large dogs - we had not met this breed before but now they are a favourite!! We really miss them!
We enjoyed looking after Emile and Larry, two very different but affectionate and easygoing dogs. Emile is full of fun and has great recall while Larry is more laid back but sadly needs to be kept on the lead. There are great walks on several beaches nearby - we especially liked the beach by West End Lane in Harwich (CO12 3SF) with car parking and beachside wilderness. There are also local walks. The house is spacious, warm and comfortable but, as pointed out, the garden and outbuildings are a work in progress. Shelley and Stefan are friendly and generous hosts and we would have no hesitation recommending this sit to others. BTW we highly recommend The Alma Inn in Harwich.
We were able to meet Kaitlyn at her sunny apartment prior to the actual sit dates, so that we could meet Charles and get a tour. The comfortable apartment is in a great location near Golden Gate Park and many restaurants. A nice Safeway grocery store is literally a block away. The apartment is well-decorated, with a well-stocked kitchen, and comfy bed and furniture. There was no THS Welcome Guide, but pertinent information was provided in a Google doc. Overall, communication was great. Charlie the Basset hound is really cute and sweet, still a puppy, learning the ropes. He is house-trained, and there is a side yard for quick visits outside. Walks were a challenge, as Charlie loves his walks so much, he did not want to come home. He is strong and heavy. We solved this issue by driving instead to a local dog park, where we could park the car very close to the in/out gate. This way, we only had to get Charlie back into the car to go home. He enjoyed the dog park very much and gets along well with all dogs and people! He sleeps well through the night. We appreciate the opportunity to spend time in your comfy place with Charlie!
