Janey and Malcolm are very sweet, their house is teaming with interesting antiques and artefacts from their earlier years working and travelling the world. They entertained us over dinner with many stories from their travels too. They have moved relatively recently to a stone house close to the village of Saint-Martin-de- Gurson. We really appreciated the newly fitted kitchen and large bedroom with comfy bed. The two dogs are easy to look after as they require no walking (they exercise in the garden through the day). The cats are easy too, Basil is quite shy but does eventually come for cuddles. Poppy and Mimi had fun being bathed too outside under the hose pipe! We loved caring for the chickens and really enjoyed the eggs each day. There are lots of pots to water in the summer but in return we enjoyed fresh herbs, tomatoes, courgettes, onions, and an endless supply of plums. The Dordogne is a lovely area to visit and there is lots to do a short drive from the house including markets, evening food markets, chateaux’s, medieval villages and vineyards etc. The wine is good too!
It was a pleasure to take care of Daisy and Tilly whilst Andrew and Nigel were away. Daisy and Tilly are adorable, well behaved dogs and we were so sad to say goodbye. Andrew and Nigel were so welcoming to their lovely home which was peaceful and homely. We would unreservedly recommend anyone to sit for Daisy and Tilly you won't be disappointed but be warned you will be sad when you have to leave as you could not wish for nicer dogs to sit.
The truth is that it has been a wonderful experience, the Koerting family have been extremely supportive and generous, we thank them for the opportunity and trust. They are a friendly, cordial, very sweet, and flexible family. The house is super comfortable and beautiful! With a very beautiful garden. Brandson our friend is so sweet, friendly, companion, calm, cheerful, and the truth took our hearts, we really love him! Thank you infinitely for being able to meet you, we also feel that we have a beautiful family friend forever!
My experience housesitting for Tim, alongside his adorable dogs Pinenut and Toby, stands out as one of my all-time favorites. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Everything was wonderful and I'm very grateful for the lovely experience with Toby, Pinenut, and Tim. Tim is open-minded, friendly, and generous, and he made a great effort to ensure that we felt comfortable. Tim's hospitality was so welcoming that he even invited me to arrive before the sit started and offered to stay a few days longer after he returned. He was making me feel more as a guest than housesitter. I spent the first month there on my own, and in the second month, my friend Ireen joined me. We were two girls looking after two lovely and cute dogs. Pinenut and Toby are full of love, and it was hard to leave them. Toby is more energetic and playful, while Pinenut is more introverted and needed some time to warm up. However, it didn't take long for him to open up and gain his trust. What they love most is cuddling together and being around you.🥰 The house itself was large and spacious, with a garden to relax in. We had more than we needed for a pleasant stay. I highly recommend staying at Tim's and taking care of his dogs. You will have the best time! 🧡
