Dawn is a wonderful host, and our stay with Enzo and Daisy was delightful. Dawn has excellent taste – her home’s decor is lovely and includes a cook’s kitchen and a lushly landscaped backyard and deck, perfect to enjoy coffee or a glass of wine while watching the pups play. Her home truly feels like a retreat and is situated in a very charming neighborhood that we enjoyed on daily walks with the pups. It’s also close to anything you need or want to see downtown. During our stay, the AC went out, and Dawn took care of it quickly, and we were back in the cool in less than 24 hours. Even though she was on vacation, she made sure we were taken care of very well. Both doggies are very sweet, smart and funny. We’re still laughing and smiling, thinking about Daisy’s adorable little dance that she does when putting on her leash to go for a walk, and Enzo’s very polite “sit” that he automatically does in front of the sink every time he wants a treat. I think he tried to trick us into extra treats, but who can resist? His politeness alone makes him deserve a treat. 😊 Both pups are easy to walk, and they’re very well-mannered—attributable to mom, for sure! These two are truly the BEST! We can’t recommend Dawn, Enzo and Daisy enough. They’re all perfect! We’d love to stay again.
Ruth has a lovely home and Jaffa is a very easy going cat. It was a pleasure to housesit and be around Jaffa. Ruth went up and beyond any expectations, including provided lots of local recommendations and making us a scrummy meal for our arrival, amongst other generous gestures. Ruth was very flexible and also eager to assist if we needed anything. We made the most of Ruth's tips and enjoyed the contrasting ease of country life. We were fortunate to stay during autumn when the trees are a blanket of colour and the weather is temperate. We felt very lucky to share Ruth and Jaffa's home.
Where do we start? Let’s start with being eyeballed several times a day. I don’t mean a wicked stare from an unsavoury character from across the room but from Dilly with her favourite squeaking toy we call Daffy. An eyeballing from Dilly means a hop onto your lap, paws on your shoulders and an eyeball lockdown approx 2mm away. Often characterised with low whimpers and Daffy only 4 mm away. This prescribed treatment administered by Dilly can be up to 20 times a day. The results can only mean one thing, laughter, hugs, cuddles, chats to Dilly and Daffy and constant happiness. Moppet is not immune from this treatment too, although she gets rather fed up and just wants your warm lap, discussions about dinner, breakfast and Schmacko times. Both Karen and I have had the most pleasure in being lucky enough to be accepted by Alison and Tim to look after Moppet and Dilly (2 perfect cockapoos ). Yes we had storms, gales, howling winds and relentless rains but still we fought the elements and Moppet and Dilly accompanied us on every delightful walk from lakes to beaches, verges to fields and car rides to cafes. The house and location was idyllic and we were made to feel like home from the first minute, it almost feels like long lost friends who have met up again. I would not like to recommend house sitters for this location next time, simply because we want to go back and be eyeballed again! If I hope we would be asked again x A truly wonderful experience Justin and Karen
Becky was so worried that no one would want this house sit. In fact, it has turned out to be one of our very favourite. We loved the house, it's amazing. We loved creative, adventurous Becky and we loved the 3 very fluffy cats and the mama moose with her twins that hung out outside.
If you love a quiet and peaceful environment surrounded by lovely countryside, staying in a beautiful and very comfortable stone house with two delightful pets to look after, then Kathy and Andrew's home would be a perfect house sitting choice. We were made to feel very welcome on our arrival and Kathy and Andrew both took plenty of time to show us around their lovely home and gardens and to explain all that was required whilst they were away. Various notes had also thoughtfully been left which we found very helpful during our stay. Both George and Charlie were beautifully behaved and a pleasure to look after. They both quickly became real companions that we found hard to say goodbye to. North Luffenham was an attractive village with many lovely stone properties and the town of Stamford provided plenty of choice for shopping. Nearby Rutland Water and the surrounding countryside also offered good opportunities for walking. Thank you for a wonderful house sit!
Sitting for Ros and Linnie was a wonderful experience. Ros welcomed us into her home so warmly, really leaving us feeling at ease and like we could treat it as our own. Communication about the sit was excellent and she left us with lots of information about the house and Linnie to get by with ease. Ros was also really flexible about our arrival and departure, which was very helpful for us. Ros's home is a great place to stay, with doorstep access to a number of beautiful and interesting walks in the Rivelin valley. It's warm, quiet, and has a perfect spot for homeworking with wonderful views of the valley. Linnie was a dream to look after, such a sweet, inquisitive, gentle, and playful dog. Walks were stress-free and enjoyable. Once she's walked she's quite happy to have a rest at home but appreciates a play and some attention now and again. She has an impressive vocal range (but never barked) and lets you know when she needs something. In the evening she settled down easily and we didn't hear a peep out of her overnight. We'd highly recommend a sit with Ros and Linnie!
