unfortunately, i have to give my honest review so others in this community don't go through my horrific experience. i even provided evidence and formally made a complaint with THS and they have addressed the issues with katya and "noted this against her account for future reference." initially, we had agreed to 2+ months sit from jan 21st through april - we had met virtually and officially confirmed a whole month prior to start of extended sit. most people in this community have been appreciative of the exchange of not having to pay $40-$80/night for overnight home pet care but offering clean, hospitable retreat home. however, i did not receive this from katya. 1) for agreeing to stay 2+ months, the house was handed over uncleaned. i had to vacuum all the cat hair, dirt, dust from main living areas and guest room. i had to clean all the old spills and mold in the fridge. i cleaned and disinfected the wet mold area around the sink and kitchen counters. there were moths in the guest room and the pantry/guest closet in guest room. 2) i found my futon mattress and pillows to have tons of stains and mold/mildew - i started having an allergic reaction. i had not even had to think to check this prior as its expected as part of the exchange to provide clean and hygienic space. i brought this up with katya and informed i was thinking of calling THS. she initially said if i didnt agree to the futon, she would never have confirmed the sit. obviously, the stains and molds and fact it was rained on was never disclosed prior. then, she was going to hire a neighbor to get an ikea sofa bed and put it together but she didnt know the timeframe. so, i just agreed to have her pay for a new ikea mattress topper and personally drove same day to pick it up and haul into house. 3) even after not providing the basic of clean and hygienic space, katya had no reservations to constantly message me and ask me to do numerous tasks in her two airbnb rentals above and below main space - turning off/on thermostat in rentals, leaving sheets, unlocking doors, leaving towels... each time i told her we had not agreed prior to her airbnb business. i just didnt want to be bothered altogether. 4) prior, i did agree to have her daughter stay for a day or weekend as it was a long sit. however, after all the negatives, i felt it wasnt an even exchange and would never agree to a 3rd party overnight again. 5) we mutually agreed that she would have a paying airbnb guest take over house and pet care and that i would exit and find other arrangements. i ended up leaving on feb 18th to another nearby house sit. the airbnb guest informed that katya asked them to pay full amount of rent without any deductions even with house and two cats and chickens and plant care. they informed katya admitted she never wanted to have a house sitter but it was last resort as a traveling nurse canceled. katya had advertised on furnished finders for traveling nurses to pay rent and also take care of her home and pets with manual kitty litter boxes. the airbnb guests found other housing and her friend took over. all in all, i could not recommend this.
I didn’t have as much information as I usually have prior to accepting this sit, went on feeling and everything worked out great! Prior to the start of the sit Anne had a change in travel plans where the first part of her trip got cancelled. We agreed that I would arrive as scheduled, which resulted in us having a few days to get to know each other, including driving to the farm together, shared meals and a half day kayaking on a nearby lake. Anne is an interesting, active person and has led a storied life. I was glad to have had the opportunity to get to know her. I was given the option to stay at her house in Pittsburg, which is in Munhall, a very residential neighborhood, but with easy park access for Mollie. I did stay here on my last night (without the pets) and the guest room was comfortable. For this sit, Anne suggested that we would all be more comfortable at the farm and she was right. What was not in her listing and which was available to me during my time there was a lovely little cabin, which was very comfortable and had all the amenities and personal touches that one would find in an Airbnb. This, combined with access to the main house, sauna (which I didn’t get a chance to use), bicycle, kayak, and a short walk to the charming little village of Sherman was the perfect opportunity to wind down (I spent hours watching the birds, squirrels, chipmunks and rabbits come to the feeders instead of scrolling on my phone). This feels off-grid, but it’s not. You get full cell reception, high-speed internet AND a wood burning fireplace. The main house has an elaborate system of doggy doors that can give the pets access to great outdoors, an outdoor enclosure or confine them to the main house. The property is down a long driveway from the main road and there’s no risk of Mollie running away when off leash. All three pets are easy to care for. Mollie is obedient, playful and loves other dogs and people. She is happy to join in on any activity and even has her own life jacket for going on the water. Larry is vey social and loves to hang out with you, which can make Mollie a little jealous at times, but that can easily be managed once she knows there’s plenty of love for everyone. Sushi is the introvert and is especially sweet. She needs special attention as the other two are dominant and Larry will eat his lion’s share if one isn’t careful. This adventure was off the beaten path and I loved it!
Beth end Jeff are awesome home/pet owners to sit for. They left their lovely home nestled in the Oakland hills very clean and tidy for us. The instructions for the house, yard and pool were very detailed, complete and easy to understand. We really appreciated Beth taking the time to make sure all of our questions were answered and added to the instruction binder. Beth was also very easy to reach and fast to respond to any questions or concerns that we had throughout the sit. Then their is Mara, she is an absolute treat to watch. She is so easy to take care of and well behaved both around the house and on walks. She is one of the few dogs that I felt comfortable taking on an off leash walk. I would happily sit for Beth and Jeff again and hope that our paths cross again soon.
Nat and I really enjoyed our time looking after Fiona and Jones. Both were very well behaved and super easy to look after, making for a very relaxing sit. The house was lovely and comfortable too. Gwen and Jack made us feel very welcome and we would happily sit for them again.
I recently had the pleasure of dog-sitting for April and Danny’s gorgeous golden retriever, Olly. From the moment I arrived, April made me feel welcome and comfortable in her home. She provided me with all the necessary information and supplies to ensure that I could take care of Olly. Throughout my stay, April remained communicative and helpful, checking in to make sure that everything was going smoothly and providing me with all the necessary information and supplies to ensure that Ollys needs were met. She even took the time to introduce me to Ollys routines and preferences, which made the transition to caring for him seamless and stress-free. As for Olly, it was an absolute delight! He was well-behaved, friendly, and full of energy, which made spending time with him a joy. I felt so grateful to have the opportunity to take care of such a wonderful dog, and I could tell that April and Danny had done an excellent job of socialising and training him. Overall, I would highly recommend this housesit, and I feel fortunate to have had the chance to help out. Thank you for entrusting me with Olly and hope to see him again soon!
I spent a wonderful week with the sweetest girl Weezy, in a lovely, comfortable home in beautiful Charleston, SC. Jake was a great communicator and had very detailed and helpful information in the Welcome Guide that answered any question I could have asked. Weezy loves her walks and soaks up affection. I didn’t want to leave her on my last day—it was so hard to say goodbye! It was the perfect sit, and I highly recommend sitting with Weezy anytime!

Five Stars ✨ for Springdale Pet Ranch!! I cannot say enough wonderful things about Springdale Pet Ranch! My dog, Starlight, absolutely loves his time there, whether it's for daycare or boarding. Every time I pick him up, he's happy, tired, and full of fun. It's clear he's had a blast with all the activities and attention from the staff. The facility is top-notch, and the team there truly cares about the pets. I feel completely confident leaving Starlight in their hands, knowing he'll be safe, well-cared for, and most importantly, enjoying himself to the fullest. I recommend Springdale Pet Ranch to everyone I meet at the dog park and the beach. There's no other place I would consider for my boy Star—it's simply the best!
Doctor Who and I love springdale pet ranch. The staff is wonderful and very kind. I feel comfortable leaving her there for the day or for boarding. Doctor Who enjoys playing in the yards with friends and hanging with the staff. I feel pricing is reasonable.
My pup Pierre has been going to Springdale Pet Ranch for almost 2 years and I highly recommend them! Pierre goes to daycare 5 days a week and has boarded twice at SPR, most recently last week for 5 days/nights. The staff is highly trained and really understand dogs and take such good care of our fur babies. They are really friendly and helpful and truly love the dogs. They take the time to get to know each dog and their personalities, and will discuss any concerns or issues that might arise with your pet. There are different packages available for both boarding and daycare, so you can customize your pet’s experience to meet your needs and budget. SPR has obedience training during which they teach your pet basic commands and manners, which is great especially if you’re a first time pet owner. They have treadmill sessions where your dog is supervised walking on a pet treadmill—great exercise and also good mental stimulation for your dog. They also have bike training sessions where your dog runs alongside a trainer riding a bike. There are enhanced daycare packages where you will get a report card with photos of your pup enjoying his time playing with other dogs in his group and also getting one on one time with trainers. Dogs are put in groups with other dogs of similar size and temperament, and they have supervised play sessions with the trainers. SPR has recently added grooming services so you can schedule a bath or nail trim during your regular daycare session, at a reasonable price. Pierre is always so excited to go play each day, and he’s tired when he gets home. I love SPR and enthusiastically recommend them for both daycare and boarding!
We are huge fans of Springdale. We use them both for boarding and daycare for our fur baby Coco. She's always excited to go and we know she will be well taken care of. When we travel I look forward to getting her report cards because she always looks so happy. All the staff members have been super friendly both in person and over the phone. Thanks for all you do.
I can’t say enough about Springdale - the facility is remarkable - spotless and utterly pristine. Everyone who works there is delightful. They send the best photos every day of Wilson playing with his dog friends (I actually keep a ton of them!) and the cutest selfies with his human friends along with daily report cards, which are personal and detailed and honest about how he is doing. We look forward to them every day while we are traveling! Thank you for keeping our boy safe and happy when we go away. We are SO grateful! - Yvette & Fred
Tiago enjoys his time at Springdale pet ranch. Whenever I have to leave him here, I feel at ease knowing he will be well taken care of. I am truly grateful for the friendly and attentive staff!
Springdale pet Ranch is the best place to take your pet, hands-down. My dog loves this place so much, she always has so much fun and when we drop her off, she is so excited to see everyone and go play. I love getting her “report cards” when we go on vacation, they always make it easier for me, seeing how much fun she’s having at Springdale. I also have to mention the fantastic job the groomer does on bathing my dog. She’s always clean and fluffy and perfect when I pick her up. I truly love this place for my pet. Thank you Springdale!
My sister has her pup at this daycare. I got to visit her and this location recently. I love how they play with him and now they have agility training. He has way too much energy and they help get his ya-yas out. They know each dog and are really caring about their welfare. They have different areas for different size dogs and activities. Great place!
Hi my name is Mr. Chewbaca and I am panting with excitement to share how my life has been enriched by Jack and the entire team at Springdale Pet Ranch since I have been home from my 20 day training extravaganza at Springdale Ranch over the summer of 2024 . Me and my Mommy first met with Jack for our free consultation. Driving up to the ranch woof we knew we found our pet puppy playground of epic woof woof of fun and I learned so very much and have been able to retain all of my skills a month out . I came in a 9 month old rascal and left with the skills that I see only in the movies . I’m a movie star now , if I may so myself ! Jack spent so much time listening to all of my Mommies complaints oops I mean room for improvements when we first met. What can I say I’m a lover not a fighter , I used to pull my Mom and Dad on all of our walks , biting my leash , biting my Mom’s shoes now … every walk I pretend I’m on the red carpet. I don’t pull , I listen to the commands I was taught by Jack and his gang and I never jump to greet you anymore. I learned over 10 behaviors that contribute to the overall handsome dude that exudes from me everyday at home and on our fun adventures. From the beach to the car, from my walks to meeting new friends both 4 legged and two legged I’m the most behaved and improved boy on the block . And the digs … I didn’t want to leave ! Springdale Ranch is cleaner than my home (shhhhh don’t tell my Mommy ) everything smelled lovely even with all my new friends around . My new home away from home is so clean my Mommy wanted to stay there for her own vacation! When Mommy and Daddy picked me up for our graduation session with Uncle Jack , he took plenty of time to teach my Mom and Dad how to continue our training at home and I have to say I am a shining star in my parents eyes after my daily training sessions at the Ranch. Jack even took me out and about to the Village to make sure everything I learned I could follow through with in the wild outside of the Ranch . We are even invited to come back for fresh up sessions free of charge for life . But between you and me I’m doing so good with all of my new learned behaviors I’m going back to show off and give Jack a big lick on his face to show my love and gratitude and to show off how brilliant I have become . Speaking of showing off all of my neighbors are so impressed with the new me, one of them even asked me for Jacks number so he could take his wackadoodle in for a behavior makeover ! Thank you Jack and the entire team at Springdale. I miss you , I ruff you , you are the bees knees when it comes to training ,boarding, playing and even grooming . Springdale Pet Ranch is the best place in SLO county paws down, sniff no further ! Xo Mr.Chewbacs
We recently completed a two-week “Stay and Train” program for our energetic and lovable Mini Aussie, Maggie. Though we missed her dearly, the results were absolutely worth it. She’s still a wacky sweetheart but has much better manners and more manageable behavior. My husband and I are truly amazed! What’s great is Springdale offers fantastic follow-up support after the initial training. They not only worked wonders with our dog but are now teaching us how to keep up with her progress! The staff is incredibly friendly and caring, and the spacious facility is beautiful, well-maintained, and safe. Honestly, I wouldn’t mind staying there myself! Now, Maggie gets to enjoy Doggie Daycare once a week to hang out with her human and canine friends.
We couldn’t be happier with our Harley’s cut. He is not the most cooperative when getting groomed and the ladies here know how to handle him. The facilities are so nice and clean. 100% recommend.
All the staff members are very nice and kind. They are knowledgeable about pets, large or small. Their training program is awesome. My little dog and I really enjoyed every minute of all sessions. The groomer is great too.
Beautiful pictures and marketing, it looks great! On the other hand, living next to this place is an absolute nightmare, and that's saying it nicely. These dogs bark, wine, screach, and howl consistently all night long. It sounds like a property of anxiety, anxiety, and anxiety. It's mind-blowing how these humans on this property are able to sleep at night with these dogs yelping and echoing all night long. It's enough to drive somebody crazy. I feel sorry for the dogs that just want to sleep at night.
Proceed with caution in leaving your pets at this boarding facility. If you value a place where they take care of the employees, good ethics, and a safe environment, you will need to go somewhere better. This is first-hand experience. They discriminate against employees with disabilities. Passive aggressive responses and no accountability. There is a serious lack of communication, which then results in chaos when emergencies arise. The staff works hard to please the customers and the pets, but the owners do not support them and rather berate them. The employees are overworked and undertrained. The facility is run without proper training, especially when it comes to dog attacks or dog fights. If you are considering boarding your cat, please do not. The owner has thrown items at cats she thought were "vicious" so she can exist the boarding area. There have been many times when cats had no water prior to a shift. They will pretend like they care, but it’s not the truth. The only goal is to be the most profitable in the area, even if that means risking the health and safety of staff and animals.
Our muttsky loves it here. We've been daycare customers for about two years, with visits a once or twice per week. Their drop in policy is very accommodating. Our dog gets lots of exercise with compatible dog friends and comes home clean, frisky and (importantly) tired. We've had good experiences with the grooming and kenneling as well. We always recommend Creekside for doggy day care.
The Staff is great, very attentive understanding and always takes care of my Pup! I wouldn't go anywhere else.
Apollo who is 14 years old tried their Dog Grooming Service today. He's so happy, he likes Amanda alot. He's clean, smells soogood, and wags his tail alot.
I dropped off my dog here for a weeklong vacation and the staff were so kind and helpful. They helped alleviate any fears and offered to send my kiddos text picture updates to show my dog was doing okay. I would recommend this place to anyone!
I would give 0 stars if I could. This place changed my dog forever. Me and my dog are still scarred from this experience from Creekside. I started to notice he was extremely anxious when I picked him up, he was super desperate to jump in the car. He was between 4-7 months old. After a week I started to notice burns on his feet and neck. I knew they were shocking him and putting a shock collar on him. They never talked to me about any behaviors or asked if they could put a shock collar on him. When I went to complain they said he was being rowdy and was barking a lot and was stirring up the other dogs. Creekside admitted they used a shocking device on my dog. They also mentioned that the owners were having marital issues and that the one that kept the boarding place was having "depression" problems. I don't care, I don't know how this was relevant. I was paying for a service to have my dog watched, not be abused. He was a puppy dog - he is supposed to be energetic. To this day, he doesn't trust strangers and I have to be super aware of where I take him. He hasn't been the same ever since. I didn't take him back even though I still had a week paid left. I have pictures of his burns that I will upload once I find them. Also my friend had a bad experience at this place as well. Do not trust them with your beloved pets!
They did a great job of taking care of our dogs. I appreciate that they got play time with other dogs
