What an enjoyable sit! Suzanne is a caring pet owner who made sure that I had pleasant stay while I sat for Loki. Her home is beautiful and has amazing views of the bay! Truly stunning. Instructions for both Loki and the house were clear, and Suzanne was quick to communicate over the course of the sit. Loki was a lovable companion. Happy to lay near me while I worked, watch the world outside the windows, and play, he warmed up to me immediately and quickly became my buddy. Any dog lover should be thrilled to sit for such a lovable pup. I highly recommend this sit if you are looking to sit in the area. I would happily sit for Loki again.
If you've ever wanted to run a ranch, this is the place to start! Bob and Jeanne are great teachers and explain everything that needs done really well. Their hospitality was over the top! We were treated like royal guests while they were training us and in the debriefing day after the sit. They are such friendly people! The dogs are well-trained, well-behaved and very loving. Zephyr is very timid and needs some extra attention. The horses are beautiful, kind creatures, though Ben gets a little impatient at meal times. The cats in the barn did not warm up to us in the short time we were there, but were no trouble. The canary has a lovely song to soothe your days. Deep porches overlooking the beautiful acreage are a place to relax after the day's labors. We saw herons, coyotes, vultures and prairie dogs. Red headed woodpeckers visited regularly. Bring your jeans and barn boots!
I am so glad I did this sit. At the beginning I was concerned over a month could be too long, but the finca is very comfortable and animals so sweet and gentle so I fall in love with them inmediately and I was leaving heartbroken after a month, I could imagine staying even longer although I was reluctant at the beginning. The house is spacious and safe. The área is rural and beatiful for long walks in a calm charming countryside where you are surrended by olive trees plantations, almond trees, pomegranates and wines. In the nearby villages of La Romana and Hondón you can find everything you need: good equipped supermarkets with local and international selection of products, local markets, bodegas with local wine and many cafeterías/bars with a big community of english speaking expats from all over Europe. Also in the area within a reasonable car drive you have plenty of interesting places to visit, beaches and stunning historical towns, so you will never get bored. Margaret and Brian are super lovely people and very easy to communicate with. I can only recommend this sit. I collected plenty of nice memories being a petsitter to Holly, Roger and Lucky. Thank you for everything.
Remy was excellent to liaise with ahead of the sit and went over and above to make sure we had all the details we needed for the Walker for when we had work and the cleaners details too. Remy has a beautiful home in a great area close to some lovely parks. Watson was a lot of fun to sit, he is energetic and easy to walk. We had a really nice time looking after him and would recommend to anyone!
I have to start off by saying Riley is the goodest girl ever :) She's the perfect dog - sleeps all day inside and loves to cuddle, but is always up for a walk or hike! Josh and Mariah have a wonderful home. It's cozy and located just a 5-15 minute drive from anything I needed to go to. I primarily communicated with Josh and he was always quick to answer. I had an excellent time with Riley and would love to pet sit for Josh and Mariah anytime!
Rebecca and Duncan were so welcoming and kind. It was really nice to meet them and be shown the run down for Ruben. Ruben was the sweetest doggy ever! So cuddly and listens to you very well! We would be more than happy to pet sit for them again :)
