Debra and Jim made us feel welcome the moment we stepped in the door. Oliver was quite enthusiastic as well but soon calmed down and became a great weekend companion. Oliver is well trained. He never ventures from the yard and comes when called. We enjoyed him thoroughly. Debra and Jim have made a beautiful home which has lovely views of the water. This is an exceptional pet sit.
Thank you, Michael and Sharon, for trusting us with this sit. Missy and Margo were an absolute pleasure to look after, non-demanding and very well behaved. The house with its log burner was very warm and comfortable, the garden was full of interest and must be pretty spectacular in the spring, also the wine and food was most welcome. In the evening we enjoyed watching tv with a glass of wine while Missy and Margo sprawled out on their beds in front of the fire. We will miss them and hope to return someday xx
This was an absolutely amazing house and pet sit if you are looking for some quiet time or if you like to be out in nature. The home is located on the edge of a lake. It’s just over 6 km to walk complete around the lake. You can also go swimming if it’s warm enough . I loved the quietness of the location. I didn’t really go into Nanaimo but it’s an easy drive or bus ride to the main part of town. Cilla, the cat, is easy going. I was there in the summer so Cilla was able to come in and out of the property on her own. She spent large portions of the day outside, but usually came inside for a nap in the morning. She might bring you some interesting presents, but that’s a cat for you. She is friendly and will happily let you pet her. Mandy is an absolutely delightful dog. She is quite timid, but also very affectionate. She is scared of the cat so you might have to bring her out to the living room from the bedroom. Cilla eats in the bathroom with the door closed. Once you close the door on Cilla to feed Mandy she’s as excited as can be. It was so cute to watch her run to be fed once she knew the coast was clear. Mandy happily walks around the lake. We walked around the lake every second day. I felt so at peace after this house sit and would gladly sit for Lyn again.
We thoroughly enjoyed this sit! Claire was an excellent host and the apartment was well equipped with everything we needed for our stay. Claire was friendly, welcoming, easy to communicate with and very thoughtful. Doris and Treacle were easy to care for and we had lots of fun playing with their favourite string and feather toys with them! The apartment was in a great location, being only a 5 minute walk from the DLR, and free parking was a massive bonus. Would highly recommend this sit, you will have the best time! Thank you Claire for hosting us x
Kygo and Kora are super sweet pups that we enjoyed spending time with 🐶 Kygo is the wise older brother while Kora is the energetic little pup, always asking for cuddles. Chantal was very communicative and she has a great apartment located in a lovely neighborhood with plenty of bars and restaurants close by. We recommend this lovely sit!
My stay here was incredibly peaceful. And exactly what I needed. I can't say thank you enough to Virginia for her hospitality and excellent communication. Virginia left a detailed guide for me to follow with everything I needed to know, with pictures and additional details that I found quite helpful. She's the first person to go above and beyond like that before and greatly appreciate that <3. If you ever get to meet Virgina, just know that you're lucky to meet such a brilliant and kind person. Her four cats were the easiest cats to look after - they are incredibly well mannered. Kiva, the oldest of the cats, kept company on my lap while I worked on my MacBook or on the couch. Lawson is just so handsome! He adored attention and head pets. He seemed to be the most independent of the 4 cats. Bowie and Nikki took the longest to warm up to me. But once I started playing with Bowie, he warmed up to me. And with time, I would find Nikki taking naps with me in the guest room. Definitely take time to play with them, especially the boys. The area of this pet/house sit is also really convenient, especially if you have a car - but don't fret if you don't. The nearest bus stop is a 5 minute walk away and it takes you to places like Ralph's, Trader Joe's, the move theater, coffee shops, etc. You're also right by the beach! A huge perk that I got to take advantage of during my stay. This is definitely one of the calmer house/pet sits that I've had. I got to recharge during this stay in ways I really needed. Thank you so much Virginia!
