It was such a pleasure housesitting for Peggy and her kitties! Sharon and Karen are sweet cats and easy to care for. Peggy was kind, professional, and communicative the whole way through and made sure we felt comfortable and informed. The house was clean and charming with a beautiful little garden that attracted many bees and butterflies. The location was super convenient to both the beach and the center of town (with stores, restaurants etc). Overall, this was an excellent sit and we wouldn’t hesitate recommending it to any potential sitter! Margo & Eliana
I cautiously recommend a sit with Maria Noel. Maria Noel very graciously picked me up from the bus station when I arrived, treating me to lunch and giving me a brief tour of Malaga on my first day. I found her to be warm and welcoming. Unfortunately, our communication pre, during, and post sit revealed that we were on different pages about the expectations of this sit and what merited a successful sit. Prior to booking my flights, I confirmed with Maria Noel that it would be OK to leave the apartment in the morning, before she was expected back, and clarified multiple times that her cats would just need to be fed and have their litter box cleaned. Even when I inquired about anything else I could do to ensure they would be comfortable, she did not provide any specifics. In her review, however, she noted that she was upset that the floor-to-ceiling windows were left closed when I left in the morning and that the cats were in a warm apartment all day. I wish she had been better about communicating this to me earlier as I would have happily left the windows open if I had known this would have been an issue. During the sit, she asked not to be contacted unless there was an emergency regarding the cats. I had a slight incident where I accidentally burned food while cooking on the stove (I was unfamiliar with the stovetop Maria Noel had and she did not go over how to use it prior to leaving for her trip, though I also did not anticipate cooking and changed my plans due to the bad weather), causing the bottom of her pan to have burn marks. I did my best to scrub the pot and resolved to inform Maria Noel about it at the end of the stay since it did not merit an emergency to contact her about. On my last morning, prior to my flight, Noodles, her cat, vomited. This vomit looked like pee and given that Noodles has a urinary condition, I was extremely worried that he was sick and I was about to leave him alone in the apartment. In my rush to clarify that this was vomit, and not pee, with Maria Noel, I completely forgot to tell her about the pot. When she asked me about it later, I fully admitted to the burn marks and offered to replace it as well. Maria Noel was very upset about this and gave me a 1 Star review, unfortunately not taking into account the care I had given her cats. As such, I very cautiously advise sitters to consider this sit. While mistakes happen, and this is a risk both sitters and pet owners must take, it is important to be fair when evaluating a sit. I spoke with Maria Noel post-sit and was happy for her to mention the burnt pot in her review, but I did ask her to also remember the care I had shown her cats, especially as I had diligently fed them their separate food, administered medication to Noodles twice a day, and kept their litter box clean, not to mention cleaned up vomit as well. It is difficult for me to whole-heartedly recommend a sit when the pet owner can be unfair in the final review--after all, the scale is not just 1 or 5, it is 1-5.
Will and Kacie have a lovely home and possibly the cutest kitty ever. I immediately fell in love with Mr. Banksy and we were fast friends. He can always be counted on for a couch cuddle and he is a good boy. We had no issues and i had a great time. I hope to see Banksy soon!
Oh my goodness I can’t even begin to explain the stunning world Jo and Boots the cat get to live in everyday. The house is incredibly comfortable and the views are worth a fee to see from the garden. Boots is a snuggle pot and will absolutely join you wherever you are in the house and even high five you! I spent a few extra days with Jo as her trip was extended, and so sorry that I couldn’t stay even longer. The highlands around are an adventure waiting to happen everyday, as long as you have a car to get there! So grateful of the time I got to spend here I wouldn’t hesitate a moment to come back or recommend it to anyone else. Thank you Jo and Boots for being the best hosts.
Wow!!! We had the most amazing time caring for Emily’s fur babies and her absolutely stunning home. The view over the valley is to die for and there are some amazing walks that are all just a stone’s throw from the house. Emily was so welcoming, she filled us in on the routine and showed us how everything worked. Brinkley is a very intelligent little fellow and full of energy, Fred is such a good boy and Dewin an absolute pleasure. Brinkley and Fred LOVE their food so breakfast and dinner time they get very “excited about “ Tememaire and Wellington are a breeze to care for, “Welly” is young and so loving, “Teme” can be a bit of a loner but will still sit with you on his terms. Public transport is great, you can catch a bus (X31) right into Bath which is very handy) We would absolutely say that if you are lucky enough to be chosen to care for Emily’s “babies” that you will have a fabulous experience. Thank you Emily for choosing us💗🐾
I had a great time looking after Teddy and Talulah, they're such sweet dogs and very easy to care for! The house was lovely and I felt really comfortable there. Melanie left very clear instructions and was active on Whatsapp throughout the sit when I had any questions. I would highly recommend this sit 🙌 🐶
