I was lucky enough to meet Marjorie when I returned home, and we had some lovely chats over tea and pudding. It was clear she had a fab bond with bobby and even taught him to meow in French. I highly recommend Marjorie, and I’m really excited for her as she starts her house sitting adventures :) x
Susan & Brent our awesome House-sitters! Yes you’ll be back Susan … we’re counting on it next year! I know Mayhem & Chi are missing their Aunt & Uncle already because they nap on “your bed!” We had a few household maintenance things happen while away and Susan and Brent took care of fixing things themselves. I have no idea where the hole in the lanai screen tore (courtesy of a cat — fixed by Brent) and they could have called a plumber on the clogged bathroom drain but he fixed that too! They were here for a LONG time (6 months) and also took care of the pavers - cleaned AND RESANDED! Susan and I were in touch sometimes daily and sometimes a few times a week. She checked our mail … I trusted them to open everything, trash the junk and send us a photo copy. We shared photos back and forth — us on our trip and them the furry babies, who we missed. Since we were gone so long we agreed that the house would be cleaned on a monthly basis by an outside cleaner and they paid for that which I GREATLY appreciate! They closely watched the news when storms were coming and kept us informed even about that. I really can’t say enough about them both!! We love them dearly as friends first then Housesitter’s. We want them to fly back from Mexico next year when we leave on an RV trip probably in May and return 1 November. And yes I agree with Susan … we enjoy catching up, having a glass of wine the night before we leave and when we get home!
What a pleasure to have Kira sit for me.. My dog Lexi absolutely adored her! Even when I returned home, I could tell she was looking for Kira.. Kira arrived early so we had a very nice long visit and lots of time to walk through my home. She took Lexi for 2 walks daily, kept my plants watered and I returned home to a clean house with sheets changed and all in order. I hope she can sit for us again... She has a fun personality and I highly recommend her.
Everything about our sit for Tom and Dawn, and their wonderful babies, Lili and Henri, was exceptional. They have a large, immaculately decorated and maintained home with everything you could possibly need or want immediately available. At their request we met Tom and Dawn twice before our sit actually began and it was very pleasant - we were treated like old friends from our first meeting. To meet Tom and Dawn, Lili and Henri, and a sit for them sets a standard... it defines the potential for what a fantastic sit can be and was unparalleled in our experience. We would sit for them again in a heartbeat.
