I am doing this quite late I’m afraid! Thought I had done it last August when my friend Sandy and I stayed to care for Trufa and Rex! I loved the location and house! It is hilly and walks with Trufa we’re very enjoyable. We pretty much were able to take her everywhere with us, as Spain is a very dog friendly country. She also travels very well in the car. We enjoyed our snuggles on the sofa in the evenings! Rex the cat is a character and talks to you, naps with you and loves to drink from the sink. He comes and goes through an open window and followed us on our walks for awhile then runs back. I so hope to be able to return to Spain in the future! I highly recommend this pet sit!
Taking care of Omi was a great experience. He's such a darling and a great night guard. He loves cuddles and pets and has a wonderful purr which makes my day. House was easy to keep clean and has everyone needed for a great stay. Would take care of Omi again.
Sitting for Jarvis and Peaches was a pleasure and super easy as the cats pretty much take care of themselves. I didn’t see much of Peaches as she mainly chills out upstairs, but she was glad for a hello and a stroke a couple times a day. Jarvis is more sociable and likes you to give him a bit more fuss and attention. He’ll come miaowing when he wants you! The house was neat, clean and comfortable and in a fantastic village location. There are both countryside and seaside walks in abundance on the doorstep. The Jurassic explorer bus stops in the college too which is very useful if you are exploring the coast and don’t always want to drive. I did a lovely (long) walk to Abbotsbury on one of the days then got the bus back. Lucy and I had a video call in the lead up to my arrival and she also left a note with some extra info me. Sandra and Randy are the ideal pet/homeowners. They had me come early so we could all meet, they took valuable time out of their lives to get to know me, to take me around town, and to take me out to dinner. They picked me up from the airport and brought me back. Their dogs are amazing sweethearts. The house is amazing.
Cristina was amazing, very accommodating and was always available to answer questions if we needed her. She even drove us to the airport on our way out of town which was above and beyond! We stayed for 9 days, unfortunately Yuna, one of her dogs, is old and has become really sick lately. This meant giving medicine 3 times a day, and paying extra close attention to her health. Yuna was a lovely and very sweet dog, although tended to bark all day so it was hard to get any work done at the house. Coco was an absolutely lovely dog as well, full of energy and a great personality! Very well behaved especially when we went on long walks. Would highly recommend dog sitting for Cristina is you get the chance! Things we wish we knew before hand: the busses are pretty much hit or miss, and tend to be hard to come by. Meaning if you’re looking to even go to town for a coffee or some food, good luck. Minimum of an hour one way, the way back to Saulnes is even harder but we might of just had bad luck because of the holidays. If you have a car everything is within 15 minute drive, so highly recommend if you have a car to stay with Cristina, would make the experience even better!
Meredith was so lovely and easy to communicate with. She was flexible with our schedules and some slight changes to plans. We really appreciated that. Lucy was a tool Angel and easy to look after. She loves to cuddle and play and has the sweetest demeanor. The house is absolutely lovely, clean and accommodating. 100% would hang with Lucy in Meredith’s lovely home again.
