Staying at Pool Farm was an absolute pleasure start to finish. After getting in touch with us initially, Victoria video called us to go through the sitting dates and what our responsibilities would be before we accepted the sit. Rather than writing a guide on here, Victoria and her family made videos on their morning and evening routine- taking the dogs for a walk, feeding the dogs, sheep, chickens, horse and fish, as well as some videos explaining the water and electric. We found these extremely useful over a video call or a guide, as you could go back to watch each one for reference, and a visual guide allowed us to see things such as portions of food, where to take the dogs on their walk etc. The actual sit was amazing! Their home is beautiful and in a very rural location, which is very peaceful, but they have friends nearby who are around to help if something happens and plenty of shops in Church Stretton for food and necessities, as well as clothes and gift shops. The pets were so well behaved- the dogs were a pleasure to look after, Mr Tickle has great recall so he's very happy off the lead on a walk. Patsy is very affectionate and a great little buddy when you're in the snug. The horse and sheep were very friendly, and the chickens and ducks were easy to look after and laid eggs almost every morning! Victoria said to us not to worry about updating them constantly about the sit, but was available throughout the stay if something went wrong or if we had a question, which suited us because we weren't having to send pictures and a paragraph each day about how the sit was going, just enjoying our time with the animals and exploring a new area. I would highly recommend sitting for Victoria at Pool Farm, we were very sad to leave and had a lovely time, we'd love to go back again!
I had a wonderful time with Levi and Peanut! Sweetest dogs ever! Loving and laid back, we had the best time going for walks in the park and through the neighborhood and relaxing in the living room watching tv. The neighborhood is peaceful, quiet and safe. Julie and Dana’s home is super cozy and clean with a mix of original finishes and modern finishes. A nice atmosphere. The whole experience was a positive one! Levi and Peanut are special little guys that stole my heart.
From the moment we arrived Leonora and her daughter Antares made my husband and I feel very welcome and quite at home. Leonora’s home was warm & inviting with every convenience, or mod con, that one could hope for. The back garden, full of established and flowering plants, surrounded the pond with Goldfish & Newts swimming under and around the solar fountain. Leonora’s pets, Spirit a 1 yr old poodle and her ‘street cat’ Dolly, were just as described in behaviours and temperament. Spirit accompanied us on many many lovely walks throughout the local countryside and quaint township. Dolly spent her time rubbing against our legs and purring loudly, particularly when she was being fed. A highly recommended house-sit.
It was a pleasure caring for sweet Kaya in her beautiful Millbrae home. Her mom and dad met me before the sit and walked me through her routine. I was made to feel welcome and comfortable. Kaya and I went for daily walks and enjoyed relaxing in the gorgeous backyard. The complicated shower had great water pressure. It was amazing! Hopefully Kaya will need a sitter again in the near future. If given a chance to meet this friendly family and polite dog, do it.
10 Stars! Bee is an amazing host. She made sure I had everything I needed during my stay. She left clear instructions for Summer’s care and kindly brought in groceries in the event things were closed during the holiday weekend. We had a regular dialog going before and during my visit, which was great for check-ins a few times a day. Her home and garden are exquisite and such a restful retreat surrounded by an area of great natural beauty. There are numerous footpaths crisscrossing her village and another lovely Cotswold village (Cirencester) a short drive away. Summer was an absolute delight and such a good girl during my stay. She loves cuddles, belly rubs, and walks. She sleeps quietly through the night until morning. She is so easy to care for, and I miss her already. I would love to stay again if I am in the area, and I 100% recommend a stay with Summer. I can’t thank you enough, Bee, for trusting me to care for your good girl while you were away. Susan
