We received a warm welcome from Tula, Spud and Lolly in Alderholt and felt very comfortable staying in Lisa's spacious home, cooking on the Aga and relaxing in the beautiful garden. We enjoyed several walks in the New Forest with the dogs, and cuddles with the cat in the evenings. Overall a great experience!
It was such a pleasure to meet Jenny and take care of Fawn and Pickles while she traveled. Jenny was extremely helpful, organized and kind. Her apartment is lovely. Pickles is as adorable as he sounds. Sweet, cuddly and curious. Fawn is so special. I loved carrying her around and making sure she was warm and comfortable. Her snuggles make your heart happy. Jenny, Pickles and Fawn make it easy to love being a pet sitter. As I was leaving Pickles and Fawn were standing at the front door together watching me go. I was only with them a few days, but it was apparent that we had already grown attached to each other—which is why I’m so grateful to already be scheduled to go back soon. I’ll take every opportunity I can with them! ❤️
Lee and Joanne were extremely welcoming into their home in this remote part of France. The charm of this ancient land of the Bretons was obvious and powerful, making this sit into an historic adventure. Nearby attractions were the fields of the 1000 stone Saints and the statue of the heavy horse in Callac. The chickens were easy to look after. The only other life was the neighbour who was friendly, and his dog, who was a bit too friendly, bringing me presents that I didnt actually require. The house was small, yet elegantly designed and furnished. Outside were barns, workshops and logs stores. it was quiet, and dark at night, with birdsong to wake up to. In spite of plentiful wood, I was not able to keep the house or myself warm, but I put this down to my being pampered and the open plan of the house. The only door was between the kitchen and the bathroom, where the earth closet was. With regard to this, I found this too "earthly" ! and I would have chosen to have located it in one of the outside dwellings, as I found that it did not enhance the atmosphere in the life to be lived in the house. This aside, I enjoyed walking in the local fields on my own, cooking small meals and relaxing in front of the wood burner. Thank you, Lee and Joanne, for the Breton biscuits and the French crepes. In conclusion, the sit was intriguing and restful.
Ariana's place was a nice cozy cottage by the beach and the proximity was great! The surrounding area was nice located near a church and a school. There are plenty of sidewalks and convenient locations where you can walk the dog. We had a great time watching over Bear, he is indeed a very well behaved dog and loves to play fetch!
Dean, Diana and their 4 rescue pups were such a pleasure to house/pet sit for! I was a little nervous because I've pet sit for 1 dog in the past at a time, but not 4. These dogs are so well behaved and sweet, I almost didn't want to leave! They have a loft upstairs that includes an entire movie theatre room, which connects to your huge bedroom and attached bathroom (which is decked out with a really impressive Freddie Mercury collection). I told Dean and Diana I don't know who got the better deal here-thank you both so much for making me feel right at home. I can't wait to come back and hang out with your 4 very sweet "kids" again :)
I had a very enjoyable stay at Elaine and Peter’s home looking after the gorgeous Evie. Elaine, Peter and Amelia made sure I felt right at home straight away and kindly gave me some information about the neighbourhood, walks to do and places to visit. Amelia also wrote me a gorgeous thank you card as well which was incredibly sweet and thoughtful! Evie was very well behaved and a pleasure to look after, such a beautiful natured dog. Thank you for letting me stay at your home, being so accommodating for me and looking after your beautiful Evie!
