Riley and Roman are as sweet as they are entertaining. And soooooo cute together. I have many, many pics! Riley is an old girl but with plenty of spunk left in her. And everything Roman does is camera-worthy. I enjoyed hanging out with these two. The location is really convenient, both for arrival/departure and for getting around. And there is plenty within walking distance, including a grocery store and lots of restaurants. V and O'tion are lovely. I had the pleasure of meeting them before they left, and they immediately made me feel welcome. While away, they were terrific communicators and easy to interact with. We had some fun text exchanges! I would absolutely recommend this sit!
Laura is a wonderful homeowner who was always respectful of our time and the nature of THS. Communication was perfect, instructions were clear, her home is comfortable and of course senior kitties Toki and Doug are a pleasure to be around. Doug is immediately affectionate and asking for love while Toki took some seduction…but he came around and became a buddy soon enough! We were happy to help with anything Laura needed and look forward to sitting for her babies again.
We had a lovely time at Jennifer’s. The house situated in the middle of nature made our sit very relaxing and enjoyable, with views to the (some days snowed) mountains from the terrace. Jazz is a very loveable boy, quite lazy but always up for food! He was great company and enjoyed his walkies. Jennifer was an amazing host who made us feel at home from minute one in their beautiful home.
I really enjoying looking after Holly, Willow and Woody and the chickens in Debbie’s lovely home.. The house is located in a hidden away spot in a beautiful quiet area with stunning views of Dartmoor and great walks for the dogs but really close to all major routes to to get to nearby towns and the coast. The dogs are great company, easy to care for and very used to their routine. They are affectionate and a joy to look after indoors and out. Debbie was very kind and welcoming and easy to communicate with. Thank you for having me
I really enjoyed looking after Clover! She is a beautiful dog with lots of character, loved by all who meet her! She's spirited on walks but her recall is very good and she never roams too far. There is a large expanse of woodland and fields to the rear of the house so no on-road walking necessary, although Clover is fine on pavements. The house is spectacularly placed, close to central Bath, and the views are wonderful. The cats are affectionate and very low maintenance (seem to spend a lot of time trying to avoid the dog!). Olivia and her husband were very friendly and welcoming, and communication was excellent throughout.
Wonderful experience with Kai, Max and Sam. They were so much fun to be around. Sue and Rick were very helpful and made us feel so comfortable. The property was beautiful. We loved the daily walk with the dogs. We would definitely return for another house sit. Greg and Crystal McDonald

Sue specializes in smaller breeds at her doggy day care. Her home and large yard are kept clean and secure. The dogs are very happy to go there, and play with their friends.
Sue comes to take care of all my babies and I wouldn't trust anyone else to do this important job. She also has daycare and boarding in her home and when I need that extra care my babies seem very relaxed just as if they were at home.
They don’t accept all kinds of dogs. They are not all aggressive and they rejected a sweetheart today just because she’s a pitty. This broke my heart to know there are people like them who would judge her for what she is.

TRUST. That’s what all pet parents are searching for when we have to leave our constant companion, our love, with another. In my case I’ve trusted her with my home too. We leave vulnerable and Kate and company come through for us. You can trust her to keep her word. First I booked our flight then Kate, 5 months early! When something came up at our time, we discussed it and Kate graciously recommitted to our earlier agreement. She’s a pro’s pro. This is our fifth multi day/overnight visit. If Kate couldn’t be there for us I would have canceled the trip. Four years ago there was an incident but we worked it out and I reiterate, all there is is trust and I trust Kate absolutely.
Kate is exceptional. She is much more than your regular or typical pet sitter. She is very knowledgeable, very caring with animals, and goes above and beyond. Kate is amazing. While our family was on vacation she took great care of our pup! Besides walking her every day Kate made sure there was music for her when alone in the house and sending daily photos so that the family could see how she was doing. She coordinated with the neighbors watching the house and even helped replace a barricade to keep the dog in the yard while some contractors we're doing work. She didn't just walk the dog, she cared for her. We'll definitely use Pawtails again!

Gigi is the best! I don't hesitate to leave my dog with her. They are fast and friendly and pricing is reasonable. Gigi is gone now. They raised their geooming rates from $60 to $75 without any notice to customers. Very disappointed.
Many years ago I used them and Joella was hilarious and so much fun and so knowledgeable and compassionate! I used them for boarding when needed, but also training for a very stubborn and feisty Lhasa Apso poodle mix and they were the only ones who helped me with her and also getting her into agility training which got a lot of her feistiness directed in the right way! I can't say enough good things about them! Fond memories!
Long story, our house flooded (bad water heater) and we are unable to be home. Had to take dogs to daycare. My elderly chihuahua was kicked out of our regular daycare spot, shes old, scared and grumpy and bit someone trying to leash her. I called many many other places and Animal Keeper was the ONLY place that said bring her for a meet/greet we'll see if we can make it work. Well they really tried for 30 mins, but she just wasn't calming and they decided they couldn't keep her. I am giving them high rating because they really tried and were ao kind where others were downright rude. Will use them for future pets if i get the chance.
Love this place. My dog always whines with anticipation when we get close and runs right in! They have a sports package where active dogs get to play for hours during their stay. My dog comes back healthy and happy, albeit tired! Air conditioned for the dogs on hot days.
My puppy came back with a bit of a limp, it went away after a day. She came back super smelly and skinny and we got a nail trim and they barely cut anything
My little Emma Lue is 10 years old & in those 10 years, I have not found a groomer that I've been particularly fond of/trusted. I am delighted to say the wonderful people over at The Animal Keeper finally have changed that for me. The staff were incredibly friendly & accommodating. We just started taking our puppy here, and we have had the BEST experience so far. We had a poor experience at another daycare and bringing her here has been like a breath of fresh air. The staff are the most friendly and accommodating staff you've ever met, I haven't spoken to a single person who wasn't so nice. Our puppy comes home happily exhausted after a day there, and she gets excited to go back. Plus, they have the nicest areas for the dogs - the dogs stay mostly outside in a really fun environment and then are brought inside to hang in their own big spaces for rest time/eating. I especially appreciated them taking the time to show me around without a tour being scheduled! They've been highly flexible in every area. Highly highly recommend taking your dog here!!
My dog Kodi had the absolute best time there! He was boarded for 3 days and groomed on the last day before pickup. We got him the sports package so he was able to play with other dog friends and socialize. They are a wonderful facility with the kindest staff! We will for sure be going back for boarding and grooming!!!

This is long overdue! Tale Of the Dog has been taking care of our two large dogs when we go on vacations, Olly and Bear, for several years now. We always get consistent picture and text updates of how they are doing when they stay. They are transparent in their pricing and availability, and always fair. The dogs have plenty of space to run and play, and they always have the best time. It's great knowing they are well taken care of and happy when my husband and I need to leave town. We honestly wouldn't board them anywhere else! If you are on the fence about where to board your dogs, let this review help you decide. We left our dog, Maya, for 4 days while we went on a family get away. We were nervous at 1st because we had never boarded her before. We quickly realized we had nothing to be nervous about! Not only did we get daily updates and pictures but we truly felt like they smothered Maya with love and affection in our absence...and she made friends with the other dogs, too! The staff is so sweet and professional. We would recommend Tale of the Dog for boarding and daycare for anyone looking for good service and reasonable prices!
I HIGHLY recommend this facility! We left our pup here for TWENTY DAYS 😭 after our other arrangements fell through and by the second day staff was sending me videos that clearly showed he was NOT missing us at all! Because he loved the experience so much, we bring him for day care once a week. When I tell him he is “going to camp” he goes bananas and jumps in the car!

I am so thankful I found Tale of the Dog. I was initially nervous to leave her for a week but I had too. I took her for about 6 daycare trips to get used to the place and the staff updated me during the day on how she was doing and sent pictures. The week of boarding went smoothly and I am so relieved. They sent me updates and pictures every day. When I returned she seemed happy to see me and was obviously well cared for. The staff are all obvious dog lovers and friendly and kind people. I definitely recommend this place and I am typically a very picky and critical person when it comes to my kid's and animals.
So grateful for having this boarding place with reasonable size and wonderful staff. We boarded our two dogs recently, with one of them wearing a cone and needs special attention. Both dogs came home happy and healthy. Thank you!
We boarded our dog over a long weekend recently. He had a blast! They sent pictures frequently so we could see that he was playing and happy. We got a written report of who he played with, who he slept with, and how he ate. We plan to use Tale of the Dog on a regular basis for day care fun and socialization, as well as overnight boarding.
This in an incredible daycare/boarding. My dog (Chance) is a rescue. Very shy & unsure of a lot of things mainly other dogs and humans outside of my family. After his temperament evaluation a few daycare and boarding stays he is a different dog. He is so social and confident. He is learned new and appropriate dog behaviors. We now love getting to take him to dog beach where he runs and plays for as long as we let him. Tale of the Dog really made such a difference in our lives. I am so grateful for this team. The staff is incredibly understanding, responsive and caring. I get daily pictures and updates when Chance is with them putting my heart at ease. Knowing that Chance is in such good hands allows me the freedom to be fully present wherever I am. Can’t say enough good things about this place. Thank you so much Tale of the Dog. My dog came back happy and healthy after a three night stay. I got pictures and a video. The place is kennel free and has lots of space. It looks like they rotate the dogs through the yard, which is reasonable. The staff was really nice and very informative.
The Barking BNB is fantastic! I hate leaving my pups, so keeping them with someone that is communicative and caring is at the top of my list. The love they get from here is excellent! One of my pups has special eye drops that needs to be given 3x a day, and she comfortably gives them to him without issue. I have gone to them twice now, and it's safe to say, I will look to the Barking BNB first when I need to head out of town.

I hate to leave my kitties more than anything, but I hated it significantly less knowing they were in SUCH incredible hands. Ashley sent SO MANY photos, and went above and beyond my expectations. She even cleaned the counters and bowls the cat food is on, and took the litter tray out of the cabinet and cleaned that out as well. Cannot recommend highly enough!

I cannot recommend Ashley enough if you are in need of a pet sitter! We were on vacation for a week and she stayed at our home every night and checked on our doggies multiple times a day. She took them for walks, playtime and snuggles every night. We came home to a spotless clean house, bedsheets and towels already in the wash, and two very happy doggies. Ashley sent us multiple photos and videos and texts to let us know how the dogs were doing. I loved receiving their pictures & knowing they were happy. Ashley is a wonderful pet sitter! I trust her completely with my cat, Sasha. She’s very friendly and communicative and always sends pictures. When I’m away for a week (or more) I can tell from pictures how my cat is doing and when I get home to her I get a sense of how much attention she had when I was gone. With some other pet sitters I’ve had my cat seemed so much more lonely and needy when I came back, but not with Ashley! I’d definitely recommend Ashley and will continue to use her services!
We were so fortunate to have Ashley care for our pets and house while away several days this month. Our older lab loved her and seemed so comfortable with her right away. While he stayed at her home to curb separation anxiety, she spent plenty of time with our cats at our home. Prior to the trip, she visited us and was prepared with lots of questions getting to know our pets and house. During the trip, Ashley was in close communication with photos and updates. We were so grateful to have her excellent care and love, it made our time away truly relaxing.
This was my first time using a service like this and I was really nervous and feeling unsure of the whole situation as I’ve never boarded my dog, but on that same note never been able to take a family trip because somebody always had to stay behind.. usually me, with the dog. I found Ashley online and saw all the great reviews, so I reached out to her. After having a couple of conversations via phone, she then came to the house for the meet & greet and immediately knew I made the right choice. She was such a delight, so sweet, kind and she immediately bonded with our dog Sadie. Ashley came and watched our dog for a week during the holidays. Not only did I know my dog was in good hands, but I could see that she was based on all the updates and photos that she sent back. As much as I would love to gatekeep Ashley and not share her or how wonderful she is, I know I can’t do that..lol I hope that her business expands and she’s successful as she deserves to be, because she’s amazing person to hire for watching and taking care of your fur babies.

March 2021 - Chris and Barbara are very special people and took excellent care of our 10 month old Maltipoo. He has stayed with them for both day care and overnight visits and I was very happy with the care they provided! I prefer that he get more attention and personalized attention at a smaller, home care setting (like Hugs) vs one of the other more commercialized dog care options. Chris and Barbara took our dog on a nice, long walk in the morning and evening. They were very flexible when our schedule changed and we needed to adjust the pick up time. And our dog came back clean, happy and tired :-) Update 4/2021 - our dog just stayed with Chris and Barbara for the past 10 days and they sent me pictures, videos and updates every day. Also got pictures of our dog sitting with them - I could tell that they truly care about him and he received lots of love in our absence. He celebrated his 1st birthday with them and my daughter was so sad that we weren’t with him. Chris and Barbara threw him a birthday party and FaceTimed with us so that we could see his party they put on - complete with birthday hats, balloons, dog cake and even a present! We were so appreciative and touched (especially my daughter)!
Hugs Pets Sittings did a truly outstanding and professional job caring for my lab Lola for overnight stays in the home-style setting we wanted for our pet. Not only was my dog cared for in a healthy and loving manner with multiple walks and much attention, but the owners also provided me with photos and and video updates throughout my trip so I could see how well Lola had adjusted to her new environment. Another bonus is Hugs Pet Sitting also allowed me to cancel a reservation 5 days prior due to a emergency hospitalization of a family member during the busy holiday season. Their understanding and compassion shows a business that really cares for its customers.
We were very fortunate to have found this place as we were looking for boarding for our furbabies. We love the fact that they get to roam freely and have access to indoor and outdoor space; it was the perfect home away from home for them. Chris and Barbara were very caring and we knew they were in good hands while we were out of town! We enjoyed all the daily check-ins and I know Kona and Milo look forward to their next visit! I've had our two dogs, Penny and Sidney, staying at Hugs Pet Sitting for 2 years now. When I first met Barbara and Chris in their home to discuss our needs, I was struck at how their house was 100% tailor-made to have dogs as guests. To have our dogs in a home environment with a limited number of dogs per day, tended to by TRUE dog-lovers who treat your dogs as if they are their own, is a dream come true. The first year, we had a major home remodel going on, and couldn't have our dogs underfoot with workers going in and out (open doors) and dangerous materials strewn about. Five days a week our dogs got to go to "Camp Cavanaugh" and be loved and pampered by Chris and Barbara. They always went out of their way to make sure they got love and affection, or walks, or pickups or drop-offs to my house when I was in a bind...they are the most generous-hearted people who truly do care. I also 100% know that if any sort of emergency were to arise, it would be handled immediately with intelligent and informed action. Our dogs bonded with their two dogs, Yuki and Peach, for life..they truly are best friends. Their German Shepherd Yuki can at first look imposing because of his size, but he truly is a gentle giant who wouldn't hurt a flea...he is so well mannered and such a gentleman and so sweet. Their other dog Peach is exactly as her name implies...a peach! A sweetheart who loves to play and be friends. Now that we're in our second year, we meet at the park for walks (again, our dogs are BFFs), and when we go out of town, our dogs get the treat of getting to stay at what I now refer to as "their cousin's home." We thank our lucky stars every day that we found Hugs Pet Sitting. It truly lives up to its name. Barbara and Chris both work from home, so the dogs truly are tended to and taken care of. Out of this fortunate connection we've found dear friends for life too, in Barbara and Chris! Dog lovers, they are the real deal!! Your search is over...just bring them to Hugs!
I can’t tell you how pleased I was with Hugs Pet Boarding and day care! I originally had my dog scheduled to be boarded at a facility for 10 days. This weighed on our shoulders for days before we left. The thought of him inside sleeping in a kennel and only going out to play with other dogs a few times a day was agonizing!! After searching I came upon Hugs doggy daycare/boarding. This was like finding a diamond in the rough! Everything from my first contact with Chris and Barb was nothing more than professional. We had a meet and greet before our trip and I felt completely confident that this was the place for our pup. They did not disappoint!! Every day they sent us a little video clip of how much fun our pup was having. We actually were concerned that he would not want to come home with us when we came to pick him up. He was having a great time!! Everyday! I would definitely refer my best friends and family and anyone who asks for a place to bring their fur babies to Hugs!!!
Our 6 month old Viszla puppy, Maple, had such a great time at Hugs! It was so comforting to be able to leave her in a home setting and get daily pictures/videos of her activities and behavior. She was so tired out when we picked her up from running around with the other dogs and it was clear she enjoyed herself! This was our first time leaving her with someone other than our family members and it's safe to say we will definitely be using Hugs again, highly recommend!
Chris and Barbara took wonderful care of our dog over our spring break vacation. They cared about her comfort and walked her everyday while she stayed with them. We felt lucky that she was in such good and caring hands. Their place was clean and set up wonderfully for dogs to roam freely and play. They even sent us pictures and videos showing what a great time our dog was having with the other dogs there. One thing especially I would give them a shout out for is how they took some time to screen the dogs they accepted. It was great knowing that they made sure our dog would be comfortable with the other dogs there before we left her there. I wish I could give more stars than five and definitely wouldn't think twice before having her stay with Chris and Barbara again in the future!
Chris and Barbara were wonderful hosts to our 7 month old golden retriever. They were quick to communicate. They sent updates daily. They were willing to work with our picky eater and make accommodations for him. They got him out for exercise daily. He was a happy pup when we picked him up after 3 nights! We will definitely use them again. Thank you!
Hugs is absolutely the best place for your furry friends! I am beyond grateful we found Hugs. Chris and Barbara are amazing with the animals. Our fur babies, Lola and Ziggy, come home happier when they are at Hugs versus anywhere else when we are out. Hugs take wonderful care of the animals and I love how they send photos and video clips of the animals everyday. It makes me feel so comfortable knowing the dogs are in excellent hands. Chris and Barb are nothing short of attentive and loving when it comes to the fur babies. We love them!
I feel so lucky that I found Hugs Pet Sitting for my dog Maggie! She has some separation anxiety and doesn't trust new people very easily but she felt so comfortable with Chris and Barbara immediately! They send me pictures and videos throughout my trips and I can see Maggie having the best time with them and the other pups! Thank you hugs for the being the best!!
I randomly stumbled across Pets in Paradise when my high energy pit bull mix was not enjoying her other daycare as much. Pets in Paradise has been incredible! My dog is very selective in who she likes, and she absolutely adores the staff here. She gets to run around outside all day and the staff sends pictures and updates throughout the day to provide peace knowing she is enjoying herself.
I love this place!! My dogs always come back happy, fresh from a bath, and tired from having so much fun. Thank you to the incredible staff for taking such good care of my pups Bowie and Rocky!
My dog Sadie doesn't like many people and won't even go for a walk with good friends of mine who she knows well. However, she absolutely loves the staff at Pets in Paradise. In the morning, she waits at the door for their arrival and practically jumps into their arms when they come to pick her up. When she comes home in the afternoon, she is tired and happy. I have been unable to walk her, so Pets in Paradise has become a life saver for me and also for Sadie.
My dog loves this place. She comes back happy and tired. The taxi service is awesome. She jumps right in the van without saying good bye. All of the staff I have met have been so friendly. I highly recommend the doggy day care or boarding to anyone!

So I needed a dog walker in San Diego who could take care of my best friend while I’m at work. I met Jen and let me tell you something there are dog people in animal lovers and then there is Jen loves pets. They go the extra mile an extra step to make you know and feel comfortable leaving them in charge of your furry friend. While I’m gone, I receive updates of whether my little buddy went one and two, I also receive photos, and sometimes even a video of his antics as he goes for his daily walk It’s very difficult to find someone who cares that much about your animal They don’t treat it as a job they treated as a passion and I can’t believe I looked into finding out about this business because I can’t imagine anyone else walking my Smoky.
This place is a gem! First steps with our puppy such as socialization, some commands and behaviors were so important and helpful to get in place to have an easier time with our dog. We had previous experience, with different dogs we had, with different trainer, but the combination of, Tay, Zoom class and in class dog socialization is brilliant. We took our puppy, Luna, to S.T.A.R puppy course, and Tay in a positive, kind and patient guidance, has helped us shape Luna to a much relaxed, well behaved puppy. As puppy gets so easily distracted, it always good to start with minimal distractions, and add some, once behavior is established, so working from home in Zoom, was an excellent idea, which also left us more time, to communicate with Tay, ask her many questions - to all we got answers. The place where puppies get to socialize, is super clean, you get to see the puppies in video in Zoom, and see how well they manage it. Overall, super easy and enjoyable, not to mention puppy socialization is a must, and well behaved puppy makes life so much simple! Thanks team, and hope to see you in CGC class!
I cannot say enough wonderful things about Jen and her team! They have taken such good care of our two cats, I will never trust anyone else with them! They are reasonably priced and I love the daily updates and photos they provide. Such a nice touch! Jen has such a kind heart. She really helped us out recently when I was in the hospital longer than planned and we needed last minute care for the cats. I recommend her and her team to everyone I know who has pets!
JenLovesPets is amazing! The team truly loves the pets they care for! They are awesome with more difficult pets too, my dog is reactive when she's on leash and the team stays alert to keep her away from other dogs. I always feel the love in the messages from each visit, and the pictures help ease my separation anxiety from my dog! My dog doesn't always love new people, but she is always ecstatic to see her JLP friends and I'm pretty sure she likes them more than me!

We have been with her company for over four years. Jen and her team have always been so loving and more importantly EDUCATED on proper care and training (positive reinforcement) with our pups. She even taxied our pups to/from our wedding venue and watched them the entire night of our wedding until we arrived home. I can’t rave enough about this crew! JenLovesPets is so awesome! When I had unexpected surgery, I needed a company to come walk my two 8 month old puppies immediately. Jennifer responded and scheduled a time to talk to me almost right away. When we spoke, she was so sympathetic and told me that they could absolutely help. Puppy Love Pet Care is the best pet sitting/dog boarding option in San Diego. I called Puppy Love Pet Care last minute for a week of dog sitting. Not only did they cater to Rio, but also they allowed me to extend his visit for another week in even shorter notice. The team is absolutely wonderful. I will definitely be using them again. Also - they don't crate dogs and allow non-neutered dogs - amazing!

Puppy Love is my go to dog sitter whenever I travel to visit San Diego in the spring/summer! I travel with my dog and leave him with Puppy Love for overnight boarding and doggy daycare anytime I need someone to watch them while I'm busy with work. Puppy Love Pet Care is the absolute best! My dog considers them a second family. As a boy with bad separation anxiety, finding a sitter that he was really comfortable with took some searching, but he always has a great time here and comes home happy and tuckered out. I'll never leave him with anyone else!
Puppy love was great! I recommend to everyone looking for a boarding for your pet. They took my cat in last minute where other places wouldn’t. I went out of town for 5 days and did not have to worry the whole trip! Highly recommend.
