this was one of our longer housesits of 3 1/2 weeks. Suzanne communicated with us well throughout and sent pictures of Bodie on various outings. When we returned home our dog, Cats, plants and house were happy. We did have some issues with our appliances but she was able to work though and adapt to the situation.
A Perfect sit :) Ellen is very warm and welcoming and Beni was a pleasure to look after. The home is very clean and in a great location. Communication was very smooth. Highly recommended
Nichola and Darren's home is in the middle of the country - and Nichola's advice that we needed our own car was spot on. We had a great 10 days at their house - walking the dogs was easy, feeding the cats was straightforward, and giving the donkeys some carrots and apples was a relaxing event. The supermarket was further afield but a good shop kept us going, with the local boulangerie topping up the bread supply each day. We especially enjoyed playing with Zac and his ball, and picking the fresh fruit from the orchard - what a treat! If Nichola and Darren will have us back, we'll be on our way.
Donna has a lovely home in the surburbs outside Portland. Sheba and Delilah are sweet, shy creatures. Such cuties! Quite low maintenance; just needing litter scooped daily as typical, plus food topped up twice per day. These indoor cats loved pats (on their terms). Delilah was especially happy to perch on my lap anytime I sat down. They are still a little wary of each other, as Delilah is relatively new to the home, but was not an issue at all; they mostly just keep to their own different rooms. Without a car, I got around easily on the MAX line or bus to downtown (1hr trip or drive/rideshare for a quicker ride). Donna is a wonderful host! So kind, relaxed and welcoming. I highly recommend this housesit.
We had a great time on this sit. From first moment Sarah made us feel very welcome and everything was made very clear with lots of information about walks and areas to visit. We went with her for a walk across the fields and back through the village to get to know the area and how the dogs behave. Jessie and Winnie were both excellent to walk with, two very different dogs in every way but both a pleasure to be with. We enjoyed some lovely long walks, including down to the beach and a stop in the pub with Jessie. Winnie preferred to stay in bed and wait for a late afternoon stroll, although showed a dramatic turn of pace and determination when trying to catch a herd of deer across the fields.
