It's always reassuring to meet house/pet owners ahead of time and as we were already in the area, arranged to call on Simon, Harriet and Scrappy. Their home is really comfortable, has everything you could possibly need, in a very pretty village - the added bonus was a really good friendly pub just up the road, which served well kept Ale and had a great menu. Scrappy, was absolutely no trouble at all, very well trained, great in the house and was our constant companion - except when he dozed in his chair. He's just so lovely. The village is in the middle of the countryside, so a car is required, but the beautiful Cotswold town of Cirencester is just a few minutes drive away, where you will find all the major supermarkets for your supplies, also plenty of cafe's and restaurants - not forgetting the many little individual shops for a spot of retail therapy. We can also highly recommend the famous Roman Amphitheatre and Museum. Full instructions, with plenty of food and cleaning supplies, are given for the two fish tanks - no need to second guess the routine:) We have no hesitation in highly recommending Simon and Harriets House/pet sit, and anyone lucky enough to secure this assignment will have a very pleasant time indeed. Thank you both for being such marvellous hosts. Jackie & Adrian
Pudding Cottage is very quaint and on a quiet country lane within walking distance to a pub (not gastro!). I looked after Betsy who is such a lovely dog, initially a bit timid but with time comes out of her shell. She has a lovely temperament and is very happy at home and in the garden. She has a great appetite for a small dog and although sometimes reluctant to go on walks, she enjoys it when she does. She seems to be a local celebrity with neighbours stopping and chatting to her. The house is comfortable and the WiFi is good so you can stream to TV on your laptop (there is no TV). Murphy the cat is quite elusive and being a typical cat, will only come in the house and pay you attention when he's hungry. Otherwise he's out all of the time. If you're looking to get away from it all to rural Herefordshire, then this is the place for you.
Jorge was an amazing host and was immediate to my messgaes when I had questions or concerns. Their San Diego home was lovely and I look forward to possibly help sit for them again in the future!
We had a blast with Yeti, Wilder & Moki! Shannon was very thorough on instructions and very responsive while were house sitting. And to top it off, the house and location were an amazing way to enjoy the Boulder area!
