We absolutely loved house and cat-sitting for Francesca and Philippe. They have a beautiful chalet in an amazing location, great for outdoor activities - we went hiking, cross country skiing and downhill skiing while there. Francesca and Philippe were so attentive and hospitable, answering all our questions, leaving us guides on the area and activities, and giving thorough instructions for looking after the house and cats which made everything run smoothly. By far the standout highlight was Sofia and the gang. Sofia is an adorable, very friendly cat who likes to cosy up on your lap and can’t get enough chin scratching. We spent many an evening tucked up on the sofa with her snoozing next to us, usually in a very comical sleeping position! Blackie, Hoppy and Grandpa are more outdoor cats and are also lovely characters (Grandpa is a distinguished old gentleman who really stole my heart!) and we miss all four already. We’re so grateful to Francesca and Philippe for what was a heavenly and relaxing getaway. We’d definitely recommend this sit, especially for any outdoorsy cat lovers, and would love to come back again.
We enjoyed our house sit very much. Poppy and Flo are adorable and very sweet, we loved their company. Barbara was very welcoming and made us directly feel at home. She showed me around in the village and introduced me to some people when i arrived. The village is very close to the beach and Nerja and great walks. Looking forward to another house sit soon!
Barton was an absolute joy to look after, and the apartment was wonderful. Justin and Troy were very helpful and communicative - thank you both for a great sit ☺️
Roz and Jim were great hosts and welcomed us into their house the night before they left with a delicious meal. Benjy is a sweetheart and was a delight to stay with. He loves lots of cuddles and really enjoys his daily walks. He's extremely well behaved and super easy to take out in the car. Roz and Jim's house is large and comfortable and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
Chica is just the sweetest dog. Probably the easiest dog I have ever cared for. (Martha also made it even easier by preparing Chica’s homemade food ahead and pre-freezing portions!!!) Chica loves walks and is extremely friendly. She walks at a good pace. Never pulling on the lead. She listens well to requests like “wait” and “let’s go.” Chica was super-friendly and respectful with all beings we encountered on walks, including other dogs and little children! She’s great in the car. I was able to take her on a few nearby hikes and to some outdoor restaurants and breweries. Martha’s home is a mountain cabin retreat with lots of land and tons of privacy. Martha’s an artist so the home is decorated with beautiful original art. There’s a front porch with a Mountain View. And a lovely organic garden that required very little watering and no weeding. Martha encouraged me to help myself to some of the veggies. The new asparagus, arugula, kale and garlic was such a treat! Martha’s home could not be in a more perfect location for a get-away. It’s a short ride (or a decent walk) to downtown Black Mountain. I fell in love with this beautiful mountain town. Great restaurants, Lots of art and live music. And easy parking! It was such a joy to care for Chica and enjoy Martha’s home and this amazing little town!
