We recently had the pleasure of house sitting a spacious home with a beautiful garden in Springfield. My boyfriend and I cared for two German Shepherds, Spirit and Creed, and a delightful cat named Cato. Initially, Spirit was quite wary and barked a lot at our arrival, but she warmed up after just half a day. By the third day, we had formed a strong bond, and she even allowed me to rub her belly—a true sign of trust! Creed, on the other hand, was instantly friendly, enjoying games of fetch and loving back leg rubs. Cato, the cat, was an absolute sweetheart, always seeking chin rubs and joining us in bed at night. His gentle purring was the perfect lullaby, helping us drift off to sleep. Thank you, Sally, for the very detailed instructions and for maintaining such a clean and cozy house. We are grateful for the wonderful experience, the fantastic location, and the new furry friends we made.
This is a lovely sit, very clean & comfortable house in a very peaceful setting. Kate & Keith give all the info needed for an easy sit. They are relaxed, and helpful re getting to & from the Station. Splodge & Tinker are independent cats with very different personalities. Tinker spends most of the day out & about, Splodge loves her spot on the sofa. You will get more lap time from Splodge, and she likes to be brushed. Thank you for opening your house to me, I felt very at home.
Alison and John's home is lovely, and Alfie and Padi are wonderful companions. We thoroughly enjoyed our sit here, and are very pleased to have been invited back for two more assignments. A great house sit, in a lovely country location, highly recommended.
Christian and Ashley are super friendly, organized, and tidy people. I mainly maintained contact with Christian and it was fun talking with him: simple and straightforward like we knew each other for a long time 😊I love that! Even though they were remote, they still managed to stay in touch when needed to provide support or see my spam pictures flying by hihi. They gave me a comprehensive welcome guide and separate email that goes into finer details per cat and their care, including everything you need to know about the house and surrounding areas. Taking care of the cats was easy but both had different characters to work with. My stay was short, but quickly managed to filter through their preferences of how they wanted to be handled. Dibu: The little Bengal Tiger with his beautiful coat is running around super-fast, he is the youngest and most energetic during my stay. He comes and goes and is easy to handle. He loved the outside walkies, play time with the stick and in the evening slow pets on his head while watching TV. If he wants food you will know haha, he digs right in the can with his face, but luckily he eats till he has enough which is easy to monitor. Uma: Lives up to her name Purrman! She was more chill with me and just enjoyed exploring the outside garden or watching me work from home right next to me on the desk. Playing was on her terms and conditions but ones you gained trust she is a cuddle monster! Coming over for head bumps or sitting on your lap. They both sleep with you on the bed and comes over when being called. Treats of course Uma loves. Both are not a fan of being pick up and putting the harness on to go outside was a challenging the first time with Uma. Be calm with them and they love you back 😊 House itself was great located. Supermarkets and public transport nearby and they have a lovely garden to enjoy the summer with. I managed to fix a couple of things in the house which I thought would be great! I highly recommend this sit to others; it was a fantastic and I enjoyed every second off it. Thank you again Christian and Ashley for your hospitality and hope to see you soon again! Big hug Martin
Words cannot possibly describe how lovely this sit was. Liz and Kamm were absolutely wonderful to me, and made sure I felt at home. So thoughtful, kind, generous, and on top of that, so inspiring because they have a passion for the outdoors. Their home is beautifully decorated and has everything anyone would need to feel like they’re on a blissful vacation, including a sweet light-filled studio where I spent time working. The neighborhood is beautiful, and I felt safe while walking around admiring all the other pretty houses and gardens. Loads of walkable shops and restaurants too. Communication was great, and detailed notes were left to make it super easy. Now…the KITTIES!!! What darlings. Both have distinct personalities; Cauda loves his morning brushing/lap ritual (one of my highlights!) & Raven is the Queen of Hiding..but I was SO honoured to have been able to give her scratches (tip: get down low to her level). They were super easy and well-behaved, with no issues at all. Independent but loved company too. And, loved the laser light!! I would sit again in a heartbeat if I was in Portland!
We had a wonderful sit at Robin‘s house. She was very warm and welcoming and communicative and her home was bright and cheerful. Benjamin (the dog) and Stella (the cat) were so friendly and well-behaved. The lizard and chicken we’re easy enough to take care of and it was so nice that she let us eat fresh eggs! That was a definite bonus. The lizard is really cool looking and it was fun to watch him in his element. It was a great location and having a pool in the summer is so nice! Definitely would come back!
