Ranai was a fantastic house sitter and cat whisper. Highly recommend. We have two cats with very different personalities and both of them warmed up to Ranai quickly and ease fully. She was great about sending lots of pictures, videos and updates on both of them, all of which made us smile while we were away. In addition to her love and skill with animals, Ranai was extremely communicative, easy to coordinate with and left the house tidy and in great care. We would welcome her back anytime that she's back in the Bay!
First off, the hardest part was leaving sweet Louie after 7 weeks. He was my shadow throughout. Ian and Di were wonderful hosts. We had a great first conversation and we seemed to hit it off right away. Upon arrival they showed me the ropes and everything I needed to take care of Louie and Lola, as well as the home. Louie is a cuddler... on the couch and in bed. His playful attitude was a pleasure to be around, and his excitement on the near 100 walks we took was contagious, as sometimes Lola ( the cat) would walk along with us, garnering looks of amazement, and amusement, especially from kids. During the sit, Louie did get sick and Ian and Di were very helpful as we talked, despite the 7 hour time difference, to make sure he was OK. After 2 days, of me worrying and checking on him throughout the night and caring for him, he bounced back to his old self. Lola is a cat that loves to be outdoors. I was very nervous as she would stay out all night, the first 3 or 4 weeks, but she started staying in and the two monsters terrorized me, somehow making a queen size bed very small, despite their tiny sizes. The neighbour's were wonderful and I got to know a few of them. I felt part of the neighborhood. After the family's arrival home, I stayed the night and had a wonderful pancake breakfast. Ian and Di were wonderful hosts and I certainly look forward to seeing them again for another sit. This was definitely a 5 star house/pet sit.
