We thoroughly enjoyed looking after Hamish and were made welcome by Anna and her husband. The sheep was a new experience for Shawn. The house was warm and our room comfortable.
Christopher and Sophie were so welcoming! Before they left, they showed me around the area, made me lunch, gave me all sorts of advice, and took me to a friend's housewarming party. Elie is a great and easy dog. You take her on a walk through the beautiful countryside along a river and vineyards for ~30 minutes per day, and she has a backyard for other bathroom needs. It is such a beautiful setting! Elie loves attention and will follow you around the house. The house and town are very quaint. The house has plenty of space. You even get your choice of bedrooms! But, do be aware that you will definitely need a car, the area is very rural, and it is 15-20 mins from the supermarket. It worked for me, as I was working remotely during the week and staying home during the week, then exploring on the weekend. Carcassonne is the major tourist attraction nearby. If you are looking for lots of tourists sites nearby and to dine at lots of restaurants, this is probably not the right sit for you. Fyi, there's no microwave.
Gino is the absolute sweetest!! I loved hanging with him on the couch on a snowy day. He would join me for yoga on the deck in the mornings. He’s such a sweet dog. Him and my cat got along great. Stephen and Suzie are so sweet and considerate, they went out of their way to ask if I needed anything for my stay and really made me feel at home. Highly recommend sitting for Gino. Great location, hiking trails are right by there. Golden, Co is a 10-15 minute drive and wonderful to explore during the weekends.
Gail's sweetheart pups were a joy to watch. Leo and George love to cuddle and Maude was so quiet and easy to care for. The home location is fantastic for excursions in and around Raleigh, Gail was wonderful with communication and it was a great experience. We wouldn't hesitate to come back again.
This was an excellent sit. Rachel’s home is lovely and Tanya and Mabel are fairly easy to care for—just two feedings per day plus some medications to mix in for Tanya. The area around the home is great. I visited Longwood Gardens the first day, and it’s a must see! The second day, I walked along the very charming downtown area on State Street. While Tanya is shy and had no interest in interacting with me while I was there, she just kept quietly to herself and did not cause trouble. Mabel took the first day to warm up, but stuck to me like glue when I was around on the second day. She is very sweet and playful and an absolute purr-machine! I would definitely return to Rachel’s sit without hesitation.
I recently had the pleasure of staying with McKenzie and Alex and I must say that it was an absolute joy! From the moment I arrived, I was greeted licks from Tidus, smiles and open arms. These two are some of the most hospitable and kind-hearted people I have ever met. Their home is currently being renovated, but that did not take away from the comfort and coziness of the space. McKenzie's eye for design and her strong-willed nature are apparent in every detail of the house. I was blown away by her generosity and her ability to make me feel so comfortable in her home. Their paintings and vinyl artwork are absolutely incredible! I was blown away by their talent and creativity. It's clear that they have a true passion for art and it shows in every piece they create. Now let's talk about their adorable Chihuahuas, Tidus and Squid. These two pups are simply the cutest! Tidus is an excellent defender of the house, always keeping a watchful eye and making sure everyone is safe from rustling leaves and gardeners. He had zero issues taking any medication, he was a model Chihuahua that wanted nothing but affection and to lick your hand. Squid, on the other hand, communicates with the cutest grunts and is an absolute sweetheart. I couldn't get enough of their snuggles and affection. Both LOVED being picked up and held in your arms like adorable little babies. Overall, my stay with McKenzie and Alex was nothing short of amazing. Their warm hospitality, adorable pups, and incredible artistic talents made for an unforgettable experience. I highly recommend staying with them and experiencing their charming home and wonderful personalities. They were respectful, ensured I felt safe, and I truly felt like a member of their incredibly close artist community just in meeting one of their friends. If you have the opportunity to watch their adorable babies Tidus and Squid you should consider yourself lucky to be included into their little family; five stars all around!
