Terrible experience with Lorie's affiliated deck staining/painting business. The finish is peeling and cracking in less than a year. Even the owner of Maine Paint could not figure what was done to yield such poor results, when I asked for a second opinion. Now the deck restoration companies I contact for a fix, are not confident they can even repair all the damage done by Lorie's business. Lorie and her crew were nice enough but did not listen well or respect my requirements. They did not use oil stain like I asked or apply two coats like I asked. Their scheduling was also very unreliable. Even though there were red flags, I wanted to support a local business and did not expect the results to be this poor and unrepairable, even in my wildest nightmares. I would not do business with her again and I would not trust her to have a safe and competent boarding facility for pets either.
Lorie is by far the kindest, sweetest, and most caring individual. From day one she has welcomed our pups into her home, as well as me and my husband! Finding a day care and boarding is hard. First, finding one local was a big deal and we couldn’t believe it when we found her. Second, it’s hard to find someone you can trust. Third, you don’t know what kind of care will be offered. Lorie treats our pups like her own and they just love her. There’s never been a question if they’re well cared for. She handles all types of personalities and is well experienced. During the day she sends us updates and if you’re lucky she’ll even send you home with baked goods!
We have small dogs and started taking our recently adopted 18-month old Chi-weenie to see Lorie twice a week. Lorie has been amazing and treated us (and our dog) like family from the start, often sending us home with baked goods and gifts for the pup (like a home made dog bag and blanket!). We’ve been so impressed with her care for our dog and the dogs she boards, we just started taking our 14 year old chihuahua to see Lori as well and she loves it! Lorie is great to talk to and treats our dogs with all the love and care we would give them at home. I would highly recommend her for doggie day care or boarding.
I am so thankful for Lorie and her petsitting service. I never have any worries leaving my 2 small dogs for sleepovers during our moving process. They are treated like family and have all the comforts of home!
Lied to my face and unprofessional In preparation for an upcoming trip we were looking for a new place and tried a half day of day care last week. I was excited about a new place with good reviews and Lindsey was initially quick in communication response and accommodating. Drop off and the first part of pick up were uneventful as they checked me out and said the dog had had a good time and made friends with a good 'report card'. However, on the way to the car I noticed blood on the inside and outside of his ear. With an 8 yo dog we have had out fair share of cuts and scrapes but I did go inside again to ask if anything was witnessed as the ears are very sensitive. The attendant feigned complete ignorance at first and said she had no idea what could have happened. As I talked it over and explained that it must have been from another dog to be both inside and outside the ear (compared to a scratch) she suddenly said that she DID remember that another dog had been too aggressive and had to be sent home. I was upset that this was not noteworthy in the report and had been so difficult to remember and asked to speak to the manager. When Lindsey did come out, my first time meeting her, she was very dismissive of 'rough play' and scratched the scab off of my dog's ear in examining it. I responded that this was clearly not play if the other dog was sent home. She continued to minimize my concern of the incident and their communication. I asked for at least the tip on the total bill I had left to be refunded which is still not the case 4 days later. This was the worst experience I have had with somewhat I trusted with my dog. I am incredibly disappointed in their overall approach to communication and care of animals.

We had a terrible experience boarding our dogs here!!! I have reason to believe the staff seriously neglected our dogs. STRONGLY recommend fellow pet owners to beware!!!!!!! When my husband Corey picked the boys up from boarding for five days, he noticed that Baxter was frantically trying to gnaw and scoot on his backside in the car. Corey inspected the area when he got home. Baxter's backside was covered with a baseball-sized open sore, crusted over with dried blood and puss. Bax was scooting and biting at his rear multiple times when he went out to go to the bathroom as well as incessantly trying to scratch at it inside the house. Corey took him straight to the emergency vet. It took 7 hours to sedate Baxter, clean the wound, and give him antibiotics. The final bill was almost $600. Baxter has never had issues with dermatitis or developed anything like this in the past and he was absolutely miserable, it was clear as day. Not one person on the Snazzy Pet staff noticed or reported this behavior. There is NO WAY someone actually watching him could have missed a dog suffering like this. NO WAY. This was straight up neglect. Given this terrible experience and the cost of the vet visit, I sent Snazzy Pet photos taken within an hour of Baxter's pickup, explained the situation, and requested a refund. They said a flat no and refused to admit they did anything wrong. They said their policy is basically if you don't notice anything wrong with your pet at pickup, as soon as you leave the building they are no longer liable for anything that happened. (INSPECT YOUR PETS when you pick them up!!!!! Once you walk out the door with them you have NO recourse if you find something went wrong!!!) I wrote back to the owners and told them this felt incredibly unfair - at very least they owed us an apology and some kind of gesture - even a partial refund would have sufficed. I told them if they didn't offer any kind of refund I would feel obligated to leave them a scathing review. They wrote back and accused me of threatening them. They also said that if I sent them the vet bill they would "review it with their lawyer and see if there was anything they could do." I wrote back and said our pet insurance would cover most of the vet bill (it didn't feel honest taking money for this reason) and that wasn't the point. They point is they can't treat people and animals this way. I also told them involving lawyers felt like a ridiculous escalation of the situation, and that the money they will lose paying a lawyer to review this case or the money they would lose from a horrible review would far outpace anything they would spend just giving us even a partial refund. I calmly offered to work together to try to find a solution to this that would feel fair to both of us. They never responded. Even if Baxter's injury hadn't occurred, we STILL wouldn't bring the boys back to Snazzy Pet for another reason. I noticed something strange the first day the staff sent the daily updates - the summary said our dogs were "having fun sniffing the dogs who were playing on the other side of the fence." None of the photos they sent of our dogs included any other dogs. When I asked the staff about it, they said they separated the boarding dogs from the daycare dogs and don't let them play together for health reasons. I told them this seemed really said - our boys are highly social dogs and the whole reason we wanted to board them there at a premium rate was so they could get social time. I asked if our boys could please play with other dogs. The staff said they would see what they could do. Based on subsequent updates and photos, I'm pretty sure our dogs only got to play briefly with ONE other dog the ENTIRE week. Long story short, we paid Snazzy Pet $100 a night for our dogs to be neglected, lonely, and in pain for a week. Just absolutely horrible. I am so frustrated and sad about this. Fellow owners BEWARE about boarding here. We will never, ever go back.
I was so worried about leaving my dog for his first stay at a kennel but he was in great hands, made lots of furry friends and had tons of treats and love. I highly recommend Snazzy Pet!
I had called regarding boarding my cat, when talking to the person I had stated all the normal information you would need. We went over the dates/times, about my cat, the boarding options, what they provide, what I need to provide, etc. The stay was going to be $28/night totalling $280 for her stay there and she would be staying with 2 other cats. The lady told me that I would need to do the reservation online and make an account to finalize everything. After the call I immediately went and made the account and made the request. This included putting my card information on their site and allowing them to take a 30% deposit out of my account. Within a half hour I get an email that my reservation was declined due to no room. Weird, I just got off the phone and they told me it was a go and to just finalize online. The message stated to call/text/email to check other dates and times. The next morning (8am) I call and text, and figured I'd hear from them sometime during the day. To my surprise this is 4 days later with no responses from anyone. I find this funny because you really drove home on the phone that you communicate with your clients and send daily updates, photos, etc. while you have their furry family member in your care. Yet, you're unable to communicate with a potential client, this makes me think that your communication with me during my cats stay would have been a lie. While I understand that you have the right to deny service, it would have been nice to return my call/text so I knew if it was a date, time, or just didn't want my business issue. All of the above I would have understood. I am unable to recommend your facility due to the lack of communication and poor customer service. 4/11/23 Update- Never heard back.
I highly recommend Snazzy Pet! We don't usually like to leave our 12 year old Lab with anyone but friends and family but due to the awful Virus we had to find a quality kennel. We needed a place that would take good care of our old girl and Monique did just that! As you drive up you can tell they care about their appearance because everything is so well kept. They love the dogs and are there to provide a loving and welcoming environment for your pet while they are there. We are hoping to get back up to Maine in the next few months and we will definitely be sending our sweet girl to Snazzy.
New owners at Snazzy Pet, but they seem to have the same caring attitude towards our furry friends. Pickup and drop-off went smoothly and they were very accommodating when our flight was delayed and we need to change our pickup time. When I pulled up the guests were quiet, only launching into a series of barking greetings when they went back to get our pup. We will have our pup stay with them again in the future.
We used Snazzy Pet to board our three pups while on our honeymoon. They were excellent! We got nightly “Pawgress Reports” that included how they were doing and pictures! They got to play outside everyday and were loved and snuggled by the staff as we would at home. Every staff member was so kind and seemed to truly care for our babies as we do. Would recommend to all!
We just got a puppy after having a very reactive rescue. Getting a puppy into daycare was a priority for us in order to work on socialization and also give him an outlet for all his puppy energy. We looked at several facilities but our top pick was snazzy. They had a waitlist for the daycare program so we got on the waitlist and waited it out. It was extremely worth it. The first day our pup was very nervous and his pawgress report photos really showed a timid pup but by his second visit he was excited to go inside and all his photos showed a happy pup. He comes home exhausted and knows where we are as soon as we pull in every morning. We’ve boarded him once and they made it a point to let us know that he didn’t have any accidents in his kennel. They’ve also made comments about his resource guarding and work to alleviate that. Making these observations make it abundantly clear that the staff has an understanding of dog behaviors and training necessities. If you’re looking to do daycare for your pup, I highly recommend taking them to snazzy.
The Snazzy Pet is the only place we board our dogs. Paul and Monique really love the pets that stay there. I can tell by the way my dogs run into the immaculately clean facility. It doesn’t look, feel or smell like a boarding facility It looks, feels and smells like a spa retreat. Also, my dogs always leave clean
