The month in the village of Hummiladero was absolutely wonderful! Sue welcomed us very kindly and showed us everything we needed. She allowed us to use her car, which made things much easier for us! There were many beautiful places in the area that we could visit. We took care of 5 cats at her home - Sushi, Beauty, Custard, Tippy, and Nula. They are all absolutely amazing and kept us great company the entire time. We also fed 16 more outdoor cats. It was always a nice time spent during the day. Seeing their gratitude. :) Sue is very kind and has a heart in the right place. I'm really glad we got to know her and take care of her little darlings. Oh, and be prepared, you'll miss them incredibly. I cried the whole way back. :( Thank you Sue and Chris! ❤️
We had a short but enjoyable stay looking after Snert and Fleur. Victoria's apartment is in a great location, close to transport, plenty of shops, cafes and restaurants as well as a great off leash dog park. The apartment itself is clean, comfortable and has everything you need. Victoria left detailed information about the apartment and local area which was helpful. Fleur is very excitable and will make you laugh. She can be let off in the dog park and comes back with ease (we took dog treats just to make sure). Snert is gorgeous and ever so gentle and loves to be close to you. He thinks he is a lot smaller than he is and wants to lay on your lap for all the cuddles you can dish out. We highly recommend anyone to look after these gorgeous puppies.
Bocce is a such a delight! She's incredibly friendly, full of whimsy, excellent company, and very low-maintenance. I had such a delightful stay with her. Steven and Kathy's home and garden is beautiful and is in a great part of town. Very convenient to the Metro, the Zoo, and Dupont Circle.
This was our first home sit and we couldn't have had a better experience than this. When we got home, the first thing Jo and her husband said was "Feel yourself in your house". Jo and Duncan were super nice and helpful from beginning to end. Their house was absolutely cosy and you can feel how lovely a family they are. Tiger is such an independent girl. And, she is easy to care for because she knows what she wants and also how to tell you. She absolutely loves her threat and rubbing your feet. Jo and Duncan, thank you for inviting us. Thank you Tiger for your company.
Firstly, Carol, the owner, is one of life's angels! I am so grateful for her kindness, easy to communicate with and she made me feel very welcome, she even asked what sort of food I love, and bought it for me - so thoughtful! Loki, their dog, is a sweet natured soul, and during the day, happy to sit with me when I had work to do, and loved being out walking! He isn't allowed off the lead, and so he can pull, but we got into a routine easily. The only reason I have given this 4/5 instead of full 5/5 is because Loki ran off through the front door twice, and it proved challenging to get him back - he loves to chase foxes, and wasn't responsive by his name. Also, I found it difficult transporting Archie, the cat, from where he rests in the day, to where he sleeps at night, and he didn't like to be carried. Otherwise, it went well, I am thankful to Carol for having me to stay, and I recommend!
I had a fabulous time enjoying Lucinda's beautiful home and taking care of Pluto who is just the sweetest dog - loving, friendly and well behaved. We bonded very quickly and I completely fell in love with him. He is the perfect walking and hiking companion and had a great time exploring various trails within the area. He is so good off the lead, excellent recall and always checking to see where you are. He does like to keep moving and if I stopped to take a photo or admire one of the many stunning views, he would give me a woof woof to hurry up - it did make me giggle ;) He's great in the car too and happy lying down in the foot well. Pluto loves cuddles and affection, and evenings would be spent snuggled up and snoozing on my lap. He also likes being pampered - very happy to be rubbed down with a towel after a wet and muddy walk, or a swim in the lake. Lucinda is so lovely and easy going, and made me feel very welcome in her home. We didn't get to meet but we spoke before my arrival and provided welcome details. She was also available during the sit if I had any questions and I provided updates and photos of Pluto so she knew he was happy and having a great time. The house is beautiful with the most incredible views, the guest room is a spacious and comfortable double room. I would happily return and look after Pluto again in a heartbeat xx
