We met Michelle and Charlie the day before we went away so it meant we could give a good handover to them. This worked extremely well and it was a delight to meet them. They are a very considerate and caring couple who are very experienced in housesitting. We left for our trip knowing all would be well and whilst away we had good communication and updates from them. The cats were very well looked after and despite our male cat being a little wary of strangers (as is his way) he quickly settled and on our return were very contented cats who had clearly been looked after well. We also had a super bonus as the house was so tidy and clean on our return. In addition despite a large number of plants requiring water all were alive and well on return. Many thanks for being such easy and efficient Housesitters and hopefully our paths will cross again in the future.
Our original booking with Alex and Jeremy was set for 3 weeks but some personal things came up which forced us to shorten our trip. With that, they only ended up sitting for us for 9 days. The first 2 days of the sit, Alex and Jeremy sent tons of pictures of the dogs, out and about with them and provided multiple updates - very communicative. The dogs also ate very well as Alex made them quinoa and gave them lots of treats. After 2 days though, there was a decline in communication. Upon returning home, we did find several accidents inside the house which was unusual since our dogs are potty trained and they are not elderly/special needs. There were a couple of days that our dogs were left home alone for long periods of time (10+ hours) and the dogs were not taken on their daily walks as requested. We did have a conversation with Alex and Jeremy about our concerns. When asked about the dogs being left alone for long periods of time, they said that they had taken the dogs with them. They didn’t mention this in any of the updates to us nor did they send us any pics of these outings. After they left, we did check our security system and camera footage confirmed that the dogs were indeed left home alone. When asked about the accidents, they offered that sometimes dogs have accidents when adjusting to new people. We have had several sitters and this was the first time we have had this issue. As house guests, they picked up after themselves and they did return my vehicle, washed, vacuumed and put a full tank of gas in. We hosted them for 2 additional weeks after the sit and we got to know them on a more personal level. It should be noted that our rating is solely based on our experience during the sit. Outside of the sit, they are a really fun and energetic couple and we genuinely enjoyed their company. Overall, this was their first zeewoi sit and we believe they are still learning the expectations and Code of Conduct within the zeewoi community.
Jana was so lovely. She bonded with our cat almost immediately. During her sit she communicated frequently and left our house immaculate. I would definitely book her again!
