Our stay in Bude with Raya was absolutely fantastic. Emily and Dan made us feel really welcome to their amazing new bungalow (which is approx 5 minutes from the beach) and also their beautiful family. We enjoyed a meal the night before they left and Emily provided detailed instructions for Raya's care, which was really great. The lovely affectionate, obedient and clever black lab that is Raya, is around 11 months old and full of energy and zest for life! At her happiest when paddling in the sea and chasing her ball there. As she is still young, Emily is doing a great job with training her and Raya is happy to participate. Bude is a lovely little sea-side town, within walking distance from the bungalow, and renowned for its beaches and surfing, with some delicious cafes and eateries. To top it all we had lovely bright sunny days to enjoy this lovely spot. We can't thank Emily and Dan enough for our week in Bude at their amazing home with the delightful Raya. Thank you Pat & Andy xxx
It was an absolute delight to look after Groot & Nermal. They are both very much their own beings, yet still curious, friendly and affectionate. The house is extremely well set up for the cats, with so much play (and chill out) areas for them. The home and care instructions were clear and well explained. Carmen was always available for any questions about the house or cats. We kept in touch via text & I enjoyed taking photos of these gorgeous cats for updates (and cute antics) The home is lovely, and was a very comfortable and enjoyable stay. I would be more than happy to look after home and kitties again, but if I'm not available, I highly recommend this home and catsit for any cat lovers out there!
We met the gorgeous Plume a day before our sit and had a chance to meet her parents as they gave us a tour of their place. The apartment was well lit with natural light and in very clean condition. Plume appears a lot younger than her age; as playful and as snuggly as a kitten. She particularly loved cuddles on the couch in the afternoon sun. She was also more than happy with us ducking out for a few hours a day to enjoy the sights of Paris that were all so close by with the metro at the apartment doorstep. We couldn't have asked for a better place to stay and a fur baby to look after. Elodie was fantastic with communication and also has a great sense of humour which made before, during and after the sit run smoothly. Thanks for the beers and the tips for the local boulangerie! We already miss Plume so much and would love to meet the family again in the future :)
I enjoyed my sit in Bend watching Mochi. She’s a sweetheart, very shy at first, but she will warm up to you. The house was very warm and welcoming and the instructions very clear and easy. Bend is a great town, and Daniel’s home is centrally located. I highly recommend!
This was such an easy sit. Rupert and Ollie are a joy to be around. Both enjoy affection and a brush but are not demanding. Rupert is an excellent traveller in the car and happy to meet new people. I took him with me for lunch a few times and he was good around food too. The house is lovely with a beautiful garden to relax in with rural views and a summer house. Inside there is a choice of places to relax and a full range of entertainment. Off road parking is on the drive. The village has some nice walks that Rupert enjoys and is a short drive from the Park and Ride for Cambridge which is full of places to visit. Jenny and Roger made me feel very welcome on my arrival and we kept in touch during their trip. I would be thrilled to sit for them again.
Beautiful home in a very rural, country setting. Loved staying here. Joe and Carmen were very friendly and accommodating and invited me to a lovely dinner my first night there. Great at communicating, keeping in contact, and answering questions. Scout and Luna are both sweet and well-behaved. I really enjoyed their company. They do admittedly take some stamina as you will be required to take one hour walks twice per day. The doggies, especially Luna, will often get very dirty and both will be full of burrs when you get done and it can take some time to clean them up but nothing too taxing really. They are great in letting you gently clean them up. Would recommend this sit to anyone looking to truly experience the Idaho country!

Owners Lauren and Jimmy create a warm, safe, and super fun environment for our fur babies! Their amazing staff are always super attentive, kind, and loving to the pups (and to us humans)! Hands down, bringing our once anxious rescue puppy, Ruby to Hounds Town Island Park was the best decision we made since adopting her 2.5 years ago! Thanks to all of the excellent care!!!!!!
Brought my pup Sophie for her first day. was impressed by how clean the facility was. The staff all seemed to really love working with dogs. Excited to bring Soph back!
Desi loves Hounds Town. Spends many a vacay there while his mom is away. He runs to the door the minute he realizes where we are. Best place for pups! Highly recommend!!! Edited July 2024. Two years later and Desi still loves going to Hounds Town. They are the best!
Best dog daycare on Long Island! Huge yard and big spacious playrooms giving the dogs tons of space to let them be dogs! My dogs love it, I bring them all the time
If you care about your dog at all, do not trust their place and their employees’ incompetence. We took our dog here for only the second time for day care and they gave her to the wrong family - which they didn’t even realize until my husband came to pick up our dog 90 min later. They also kept my husband in the dark for 30 min and told him nothing. Apparently they take the dogs’ collars off for “safety” to play so your dog is there with no identification, and this is nowhere in their disclosures. Also, they clearly don’t ask for ID to give your dog back bc they allegedly sent her home with a random dog walker who didn’t know what dog they were picking up. Owner was more concerned with her reputation than that my dog was sent to the wrong house and was missing from their control for over 2.5 hours. I will be pursuing the matter with corporate. UPDATE: The owner of Houndstown Island Park continues to gaslight us in their response below instead of apologizing, again. Also, their response is untruthful as my dog was unaccounted for over 2 hours until we tried to pick her up and she wasn't there. Then staff had to check cameras to find her.
Hounds town is great. My dog , Arthur , always has a great time and is well taken care of. We send Arthur to hounds town for just a day of fun and for boarding when away on vacations. I trust them and always know my dog is in good hands.
I’ve been sending my dog here for the past four years. Each overnight stay and each daytime stay have been great. The crew at Island Park are great and always so accommodating. They have helped me out in emergency situations. I’ve already scheduled a weeklong stay for my pup when we go on vacation. I would recommend Houndstown Island Park to everyone with a cherished pup!
We leave our lovable dog, Mate, at Hounds Town IP every time we are out of town. They always take very good care of him and he is always in good hands when he is with the Island Park crew! Pictures are posted almost every time that we leave on vacation and it’s wonderful to get photo updates every time we are away from him! Highly recommend them!!!
A wonderful place for your dog. Daycare... Overnight... Vacation... They are great for all. They match up your dog with others for playgroups & not just by size but by personality... My girl is more on the bigger side but prefers groups with smaller dogs. The people of Hounds Town recognized this without me telling them. You see the dogs coming in for the day happy to be there & leaving with smiles on their faces. This is the kind of place where you can relax knowing your precious pup is being well taken care of...
We started bringing our puppy here when we first got her. She loved it& it was great for socialization. Unfortunately a few weeks ago we picked her up and we noticed she had blood on her. After giving her a bath we noticed multiple bite wounds, we brought her to the vet that night where she needed emergency surgery and drains put in her. Obviously this was very heart breaking and disappointing. Hounds Town did not alert us that she was bit or even bleeding when we picked her up. It is saddening to know that she was bit multiple times (she must have screeched or cried) and no one noticed this. All of the girls that work there are extremely nice and my dog really enjoyed going there. I just think more staff is needed to really watch the dogs so that this can be prevented in the future.
