If you are reading this because you are considering house sitting for Ginny and Joe and wonderfully sweet “Enzo,” don’t hesitate in applying before some other lucky Home-Pet sitter beats you to it! ;-) Seriously, we loved taking care of Enzo who’s a really smart, well-trained (which is a good thing as he’s a strong muscular fella), handsome and affectionate Portuguese Water Dog! Ginny and Joe’s home and pet guide was one of the most complete we’ve ever read and used, making our sit easy for us and for “Enzo.” They are great communicators and appreciated us arriving a day early to get acquainted with Enzo and their beautiful home. Ginny and Joe have a very comfortable, quiet, tastefully remodeled home in Walla Walla with all the amenities you’ll need for a truly pleasurable stay. And for those who enjoy cooking their kitchen can’t be beat! Walla Walla is a historical and very walkable destination town with many outdoor wine and food dining opportunities, many of which are dog friendly. We enjoyed taking Enzo out for daily walks with lots of outdoor exploration opportunities. Finally, we found Ginny and Joe to be warm, welcoming, and generous people who we hope to house sit for again next year!
Roumy's a big sweetheart who loves chillin' on long walks and soaking up human touch. He gets all hyped seeing cats or other dogs, but no worries - he's never been aggressive. Just be ready to handle that leash 'cause he's definitely curious about everything around. Zlatko and his wife were awesome, whipping up a tasty salad and pizza when we rolled in. Our spot wasn't in the main house but in an apartment just a few steps away. We had a dishwasher, washing machine, and AC – pretty sweet deal. The surroundings were gorgeous, and our neighbors were super cool. Overall, it was a laid-back vibe with good people and a lovable giant dog.
It was a real pleasure sitting for Candy. The house is great, with a bright airy kitchen/lounge and cozy bedroom...lots of beautiful things to look at and quirky interiors. The location is amazing, surrounded by greenery and wonderful walks- Richmond (district line/overground/trains) is only a short bus journey or 30/40 minute walk along the river Thames. There is also a seemingly endless supply of eggs, butter and milk delivered right to your doorstep. Perry and Grace were lovely company, easy to look after, affectionate and pretty independent. I was lucky enough to meet Candy before the sit so I could get the lay of the land in person which was very helpful. I had the best time exploring Richmond park, Ham house, Twickenham and tootling about the local village (there’s a great Turkish supermarket). Overall, a really good sit. Thanks so much for sharing your home (and darling cats) with me.
We really loved this sit! Scooter is the cutest old man in this world, he can be quite a barker, whenever you come into the home or someone passes it, but he is a little sweetheart, and will want you to pet his belly all the time! He is very chill on walks. Poppy is the wild youngster that absolutely loves cuddles and will always want you to pet her. She is a little wild on walks but absolutely manageable. She also barks sometimes, but mostly only when scooter does. Both of them love to chill in bed with you, but also love to go on walks or play in the garden! Pusspuss is a little shy in the beginning, but when you've been there a few days she warms right up to you and will also sleep in your bed and want cuddles. Gillian was very welcoming and we felt right at home with her. The place is really nice and located quite centrally in the village. The countryside around it is really beautiful! If you are looking for a relaxed sit with cuddly dogs, this is for you!
I didn't sit for Paige & Tony long, but I can't express how much I enjoyed my time during the stay. Paige & Tony were gracious hosts & their home is very clean, serene & comfortable so I felt secure. It was semi-secluded so it offers some privacy. I've been working to switch from toxic products so I deeply appreciates the clean lifestyle they have with all of the natural, clean products! Marley & Rambeau were the best company & cuddlers you could hope for & we enjoyed a walk around the neighborhood one day when the rain & mud weren't bad. Paige got back to me quicky whenever I reached out. I would sit for them again anytime <3
