What can we say! John and Julie are two of the most wonderful people we have ever met! We had an incredible experience minding Pepper, Dooley and the birds. John and Julie's home is in a great location just outside Buncrana and about a 15 minute drive to Derry City. If you plan to get some tourist activities done while in Donegal, the location of their house is perfect. Julie was kind enough to collect brochures of tourist attractions nearby so we had information for everything! She was just so kind! We came to the house 2 nights before John's departure so he could show us how things worked with the birds, feeding, putting them to bed etc which was so so nice, he even brought us to town to show us around and introduce us to his friends. We also were given a detailed list of contact numbers for people incase we had any issues at all while they were away and John and Julies communication was fantastic before and during our stay. Any questions or concerns were answered right away and we were so grateful! Dooley the dog is a cuddle monster/ attention seeker, he is amazing. He enjoys life looking out the window at the top of the stairs, and if he is not there, he is beside you looking for a pet. He is just a brilliant dog, we took him to the beach for a run around after a ball and he loved that . . . any attention and this boy is happy. Pepper the cat is fantastic, she likes a scratch behind the ears, and her meals, and then she is off in to the garage for the day where she sits up in the rafters, she'll then come home for dinner and sit looking out the window for a few hours before bed. The birds are great, feed them twice a day, put them to bed at night and let them out in the morning, otherwise, they don't need much attention. We have made friends for life on this sit, couldn't be more grateful for John and Julie!! We hope we will be able to sit for them again soon in their lovely home.
