I appreciate Giselle’s flexibility in talking beforehand and meeting up to hand over the keys to the apartment, but the stay was very different than what we had discussed. In terms of household tidiness, she didn’t take out the trash, left dirty dishes, left hair in my shower, and left a tissue under my coffee table. I had specifically asked for the trash to get taken out and pointed out the trash room across the hall. She also accidentally took my key fob with her that my dog walkers needed in the next couple of days, but it was a Saturday so it couldn’t be retrieved vis USPS on Sunday, so we had to drive over an hour each way to her to retrieve the fob otherwise I would have been charged $75 for it and wouldn’t have had it for my dog walker on Monday. In terms of pet care, I was highly disappointed. After a 45 min difference between Giselle leaving and me arriving home, my dogs water bowl was completely dry. This hasn’t happened in the two years I’ve owned him, and I specifically asked her to make sure he had clean water available, but he was left with no water to have during dinner while I was on my way back. Additionally, I asked Giselle to give Neville dental chews in the morning, which I separated one into one snack bag per day, and she didn’t give the second day’s dental chews. She said a bag was covering them, but I put the bags on the counter and showed her upon arrival, so it seems weird that she did one day and not the other. It honestly felt like she wasn’t here at all when she said she would be.
Debbie was a fantastic sitter for our two furry friends. She sent us photos and kept in touch with us while we were out of town. She left the house clean and also left us cookies and deviled eggs for a snack when were returned home. We will definitely ask her to return!
Bethany and Jim were absolutely amazing. Even our timid little golden retriever warmed up to them quickly. Pets were well loved and we returned to an immaculate home. Highly recommended and welcome back anytime.
It was an absolute privilege to be chosen for this house sit and I enjoyed every moment of my week here. Kylie is great to communicate with and made me feel very welcome in her home. She provided a comprehensive “Welcome Guide” and personally showed me everything I needed to know when I arrived. Set within 3.5 acres this property provides privacy and peace with a tranquil, leafy outlook across the rear yard to the horse paddocks beyond. It sits on the edge of town but is within easy walking distance of cafes and the high street shops. Surrounded by lovely gardens the house itself is warm and cosy and feels like it has stepped right off the pages of “Country Style” magazine. It has been stylishly renovated and furnished and is a very comfortable home to spend time in. Narni and Danny, the two horses, largely kept to themselves wandering around the paddocks in unison. However, each day they wandered up to the horse yard for their daily feed of treats which gave an opportunity to check on their health and to give them some pats and attention. I loved watching the different breeds of chickens as they scratched around in the garden and enjoyed dust baths under the hedges. They had a great hen house where they laid various coloured eggs. Each day around the same time they would gather back at their coop so they were easy to put away for the night. The inside trio were very easy to warm to and care for. Sammy and Maxy, the cats, were the greatest of friends and adoringly often snuggled up together. However, they also enjoyed some alone time with me when they indulged in individual attention which always elicited appreciative purrs. Rewarding for each of us. Arlo, the Miniature Dachshund, made his way into my heart on the first day and I miss spending time with him. He is quite a character who is well-behaved, affectionate, obedient and easy to walk on the lead. He adores the time you spend with him playing with his ball and I was impressed how he always brings it back to you and drops it between your feet ready for the next round of retrieving it. I would recommend this sit in a heartbeat.
