From the first virtual meet and greet, it was clear that Tiffany and Adam were exactly the people we hoped for to take care of our crew while we were away. They drove a long distance from Brooklyn to Vermont late at night in order to be with us the next morning to meet everyone, see where things were - leashes, food, meds etc. Adam and I had a wonderful walk with Keeper up a private road to the pond so I could share where the dogs get to swim and I got to share a place that we love before we left. We got wonderful pictures throughout; our favorites captured Posie and Tiffany just sitting together enjoying the view from our front porch and another of the two dogs in the back of Tiffany and Adam's car as they drove up to the pond so that Baloo could have a swim. They were acutely sensitive to his aging hips and went out of their way to create joy for him. When we returned, the house was in fantastic order. It was SUCH a gift to come back and not have to do a single thing in that department. Lastly, and this is such a demonstration of the goodness of these two, they left us a sweet bouquet of tiny flowers on our sink. You will be very very lucky to have Tiffany and Adam take care of your furry family and your home.
We have done many housesits so far and I can tell Angee is a A+++ (I would use more + but I think you got the message)in kindness and hospitality. We felt very welcomed from the beginning and communication during the whole time was easy. We were fortunate to be around and could make a visit before the sit to get to know Angee, Leo’s routine and the place. The apartment is gorgeous, with great view and everything you might need. Ericeria is just a real paradise! Charming small villa with beautiful beaches. And Leo is the best!! He is so lovable and gentle that anyone will fall in love instantly with him. His routine is very easy and as long as he gets his exercise and food in time he is calm laying by your side the whole day. And he is really well behaved going out so we would take him everywhere with us with no problems. He is a huge success where he goes and everyone will want to pet him (they will talk about him beautiful eyes). We fall deeply in love and miss him already. We definitely had a good time and would come back anytime!!!
We were fortunate to have Jim and Francisco take time to meet us when we were in DC in April, so it left little to wonder about when we reconnected for our sit. They made the home very inviting for us and even made arrangements for us to park our car in their spot while they were gone, which made the occasional coming and going from “home” void of any stress and worry about where to park when we returned. There’s not much one needs their car for, however, because everything is walking distance from their home: groceries, restaurants, museums, FedEx, shopping, you name it – it’s available to you. But if you need to go past the neighborhood, public transportation is at your fingertips. Riccardo and I had a wonderful week in DC taking care of Blintz and staying in a lovely townhouse in a FABulous neighborhood. We had everything we needed in the home, and the surroundings, and got to spend the week with one of the cuddliest dogs on the planet. Blintz sat at my feet while I was working in the office area, made sure Riccardo had company while he was working on his computer, and took turns putting her head on my lap and then his, while we watched television. She must have a bit of Jack Russel in her as she liked to bury herself under the covers before we went to bed, and there wasn’t a squirrel or bird that went unnoticed during our walks (but, not in a bad way). One of the funniest things she does is twirl in circles trying to catch her tail, and it’s also pretty funny to see her run from one end of the dog park to the other at top speed before stopping in to check in with us, play with a couple of dog-friends, and then tell us it’s time to move on to the next walking destination. She is such an easy dog to care for and such a fun pet to have at your side. Thank you, Jim and Francisco, for trusting us with both your home and your sweet Blintz. You could easily rename her “Bliss”; she really is that great of a dog and companion. We would be happy to come back!!! ~Molly & Riccardo
Joyce and Maya are lovely. For unexpected reasons we had to bring Maya to our home - a condo - and she adapted perfectly! She is a beautiful cuddly companion.
This was such an amazingly sit for us as we had the opportunity to care & work with Betty, who has lived most of her life in a puppy mill. Betty is the sweetest dog we have met, would not harm a fly. We were honored that Candice selected us for the sit. We arrived early to Colorado Springs to sight see before the housesit, which gave us the opportunity to meet Betty several times before the sit began. Betty requires a calm & patient personality in a sitter. She is on three calming medications/supplements that she gets first thing in the morning & again in the late afternoon. Her routine is very simple and Candice did an excellent job of covering her meds & feeding schedule with us. Betty doesn’t have a fenced in yard, but you can use a friend’s fenced yard across the street, and we found walking her to the back of the building arroyo area worked well as it doesn’t have a lot of traffic. Betty is very quiet & an excellent sleeper and loves to sit on the back porch with you. As far as walking goes, Betty is a work in progress. Her fear takes over and it is slow going. Once we got onto a trail in Garden of the Gods, she did better. Candice is working with her on this, but just know that this isn’t a sit where Betty can join you on a long walk. I found that holding a dog treat out in front of her got her moving but if you do pass by something very loud, she will want to run in the opposite direction. Sitters, need to make sure you have a good hold on the leash when walking. On occasion, we just picked her up and walked her past the distraction & continued the walk. We did take her in the car a few times to go to the grocery store & to go for a walk. Betty jumps in and seems totally content & happy sitting on the floor while you drive, it was like it calmed her. Betty is very quiet & an excellent sleeper. She is content to sleep on her beds in the office or main bedroom but once she gets to know you she will come down and jump on the sofa with you. I am putting together a video of our experience to give Candice. She will be able to share that link with any sitter & I hope it will give future sitters helpful hints on how to care for this precious girl. You could not ask for a more beautiful home and the area has so many things to do within a few miles of the area. The area is filled with parks, trails, great restaurants & breweries. There is also good bus service to take you into Manitou, Old Colorado City and downtown. The home is ¼ mile from one of the entrances to Garden of the Gods. There are more trails than you’ll be able to hike in this park. A simply stunning area! A few other areas we hiked / walked were Red Canyon Open Space, North Cheyenne Canon, Palmer Park and the river flowing through the area has a paved trail on it. Candice was the best homeowner we’ve sat for. She is generous, kind & wanted to learn from our experience so she could help future sitters have success. We look forward to staying in touch with her & following Betty’s progress. We highly recommend this sit to sitters & we look forward to returning to care for Betty in the future.
What a great visit we had with Miranda and Lawrence's furry family! Miranda was easy to communicate with, quick to answer any questions and easy to follow feeding instructions. The neighborhood was quaint and quiet with easy access to food, coffee and shopping. Charlie and Harley are sweet, friendly dogs. Harley loves belly rubs and attention! Charlie has the most soulful eyes, takes just a little time to warm up to you but then eagerly enjoys attention too. There is a fenced in backyard accessed by a doggie door so they can chase squirrels, roll in the grass and bask in sunshine at their leisure. This was our first experience caring for guinea pigs. Barley and Popcorn have such adorable faces and soft chirp like sounds that kept us entertained and laughing. Super easy to care for! We enjoyed our time sitting on the covered back patio watching the dogs play and the close location for a night out in the city.
As a seasoned THS user, I've had my share of memorable assignments, but my recent experience watching Dragon, Tsalie, and Tilloo, was truly exceptional. These guys were so well mannered and were a pleasure to care for. Each dog had its unique personality: Dragon, liked to chill in his sun spot; Tsalie, has to be half wolf because she spent more time outside than inside; and Tilloo, will love and cuddle you (once he's comfortable). The home itself was situated in a serene neighborhood, perfect for pet sitting, with ample space for the dogs to roam and play. The internet was perfect as I worked for a few days from my computer. It was well-equipped with everything we needed, both the pets' and my comfort. Lauryn and Kyle were great hosts they left detailed instructions regarding the dogs’ routines, diet, and great recommendations for where to explore around Chattanooga, which was great as we're thinking about moving to the area.
