We recently had the pleasure of looking after Maeve. She was full of life and we enjoyed our nice walks together. However, there were a few challenges during our stay. The bathroom lacked a working fan, causing it to remain quite wet much of the time, and there was limited ventilation in the basement. Maeve also had a habit of chewing her bed, which required frequent cleaning and supervision. Despite these minor issues, we appreciated the experience and the opportunity to care for Maeve. We hope our feedback helps in making future stays more comfortable for everyone.
It was a real pleasure to house sit for Kathryn. Flint and Oslo are exceptional cats. They are so friendly, curious and funny cats. They get along so well. Françoys enjoyed very much the chickens and specially their eggs.... The house is very warm and comfortable, situated in a lovely small town not far from lake Champlain where there are beautiful cycling traisl. We also enjoyed the mountain trails. Kathryn is a lovely person, we did not have the chance to meet in person but we had a conversation through Zoom. All the instructions were very clear, everything was easy and simple. Gracious hosts, lovely home, adorable pets. Did a pair of sits for Lee-Anne and Neil, with a couple of weeks in-between that I had planned on spending as a mini-vacation. They couldn’t have been nicer or more accommodating, even allowing me to stay a few extra days at the end of the first sit when my partner’s arrival was delayed. The pets are friendly, well trained, and easy to manage. Two sweet dogs and the friendliest cat I have ever encountered. The house is gorgeous, clean, and in perfect condition. I had clear instructions, comfortable accommodations, and all I needed to do my job. They are the kind of people I would enjoy having both as friends and clients.
The house is immaculate and well appointed with all the comforts one could hope for and I was made to feel very welcome. The cats were a little unsure of me to start with but after a few hours came to join me in the sitting room. Looking after the cats was very easy as instructions were clear and the house and garden are set up in a way which suits them down to the ground. I had a lovely room with a comfortable bed and managed to get lots of work done. A friend came to visit me and I met my husband in Rochester (15 mins away and definitely worth a visit) for an evening so it was a very pleasant weekend. I would be very happy to sit again.
This is a wonderful sit if you get the chance to do it. The home is spacious and comfortable with beautiful gardens. Ziggy and Baxter were great fun, happy dogs who love their walks. Sasha cat has an easy routine just coming in to the house to eat and sleep. Colwall has excellent public transport with bus stops right outside the house and train station just 10 minutes walk. The surrounding countryside is really beautiful with lots of footpaths and the Malvern Hills within view of the house. Gill and Simon made us very welcome and prepared a meal for our arrival. Although I've been pet-sitting directly and via another site for over two years, this was my first sitting through Trusted Housesitters and a perfect way to start. Angela was heading off on another trip away the morning after I applied, so it took a little longer for us to confirm the sitting. But I was more than willing to wait for the opportunity to sit two peacocks (and a kitteh, of course) and to stay in the idyllic spot her cottage inhabits. When we had the chance to have a meet and greet over the phone, we seemed to build a rapport quickly. Angela explained everything about the sitting clearly, getting to the location via public transport, and caring for Peter, Bowie and Mercury. Our conversation assured me I wasn't taking on something I couldn't handle. She answered my many questions on that call and further questions that came to mind in a call a couple of nights before the sitting. As well as making videos to show me how her alarm works, feeding the peacocks and securing their enclosure, and a quick tour of her kitchen and the water and central heating controls. She also sent me updated written instructions before the sitting and was very responsive to queries during my stay. Peter, Angela's kitteh, was an absolute pleasure to sit. He was open and friendly from the first moment I approached him and, within hours, was nestled into my shoulder and stayed there for an hour, keeping me warm while we both dozed sitting up on the couch (it was a long day for me!) before settling into his bed at the foot of the guest bed I slept in. Mercury and Bowie are beautiful creatures, and though understandably nervous around a newcomer, they seemed to become more comfortable approaching their food bowls whilst I stayed in the enclosure for some of the time of the five feeds I gave them during my stay. I didn't manage to get them to eat from my hand, but I didn't expect that to happen within such a short stay (though it didn't stop me trying!) Feeding them and securing their enclosure was straightforward, though I was nervous about the latter (that's more of an OCD thing on my part, though!) When I wasn't acting as Peter's comfortable seat, I enjoyed exploring the local area with my camera. Despite the squally weather some of the time I was there, the sun made many appearances, and I even got a bit of colour in my face, and my freckles came out as though it were summer already. Angela's home and the local area are lovely. Even for someone like me who doesn't drive, if you're comfortable with walking, it's relatively easy to get to, the mobile internet signal is quite good in the area to navigate your way, and the people you meet along the various tracks and trails are generally friendly and approachable if you were to get lost. If I'd been staying longer, it would also be a perfect base to visit other villages, towns and cities for day trips, as the train service seemed quite reliable. I used vouchers for my train travel and had already booked my tickets before applying, which meant my stay was a day longer than the sitting. I would happily have stayed a night in Manchester, but Angela generously let me stay the last night after she returned, which gave us the chance to meet in person.

Lovely holiday space for our rabbit with plenty of activities to keep a curious bunny entertained. We were provided with regular updates and a photo of how our pet was getting on. Our rabbit can be nervous in new spaces but he came straight out of his carrier and went exploring. Would highly recommend.

This was our first time leaving Nairn (our 2 1/2 year old Springer Spaniel). After reading lots of reviews and speaking to Aileen we decided Pawfect Holidog was right for us. We were incredibly anxious about leaving Nairn but Aileen had us round for a walk and visit to make sure he would be happy and fit in. During his stay we had regular updates and photos which was fabulous. We were able to enjoy our holiday in the full knowledge that he was being cared for in a loving safe environment. He clearly had a fabulous time with lots of lovely walks and attention and we can’t thank Aileen enough for looking after our boy so well.
My Labrador absolutely loved his recent stay at Pawfect Holidog. He is never been looked after by anyone other than our family and we needn't have worried. We were kept upto date and got daily pics of him enjoying his stay, which put us at ease, to enjoy our holiday. We will happily use Pawfect Holidog again.
Think twice before you decide to trust this person. I was looking for a good place to stay for my dog during our honeymoon as he is like A child to us and didn’t want him staying in the kennels. Came across this company and there was a few good reviews here so decided to give it a try. I took my dog to meet her dogs but it was a brief 10 minute interaction outside, I wasn’t offered to come inside or to have a longer settle session for my dog. We had to pay all the money in advance and sign terms and conditions that are clearly written the way to give a customer no rights. When it came to my dog’s stay she had another big dog there that as soon as my dog entered the house started aggressively barking as well as her dogs and my dog was really distressed. Quite rightly she said that my dog can’t stay there as We wouldn’t want him to but then when I asked for my money back (£270) she refused and quoted terms and conditions that she can cancel my dog stay due to his behaviour. My dog never did anything wrong, he was attacked as soon as he entered the house. This person never kept to the agreed terms in her paperwork stating that all dogs will be offered full or half day session to settle, if that was done we could know earlier that her dogs are aggressive towards mine and can’t get along, although it was the other dog that she was boarding at the time that was the biggest issue. My dog goes to group puppy playgrounds regularly and we never had any issues with him interacting with others and doesn’t have a drop of aggression in him so I feel we’ve been treated extremely unfair. I want to get my money back so will be pursuing it further through official channels as want to make sure nobody else gets taken advantage of. Clearly other people have great experiences with this person and I understand that dogs might just not get along but in this case it should be just the deposit she takes and the rest should be refunded!
Belle (who is a bit of a princess) was so well looked after. Plenty of contact and updates. Highly recommended.

Hazel looked after our Springer Spaniel Lacey while we were away on holiday. We were nervous to leave her behind as Lacey can get overwhelmed with new places and dogs but she fit right in. Hazel made sure to update us with lots of photos multiple times a day which made us feel right at ease - we could see how much Lacey enjoyed her holiday (especially stealing Fara’s bed)! We will definitely use Hazel again in the future.
Our 12 year old rescue dog, Brooke, spent a couple of nights here in August 2024 and loved her stay. We were a little worried beforehand as Brooke has only ever stayed with family but, honestly, we shouldn't have been at all concerned. Hazel views each dog's stay as their holiday and makes sure that they are integrated into the home, have plenty of walks and attention. We got lots of updates and photos to show that Brooke had settled and was enjoying her stay. Brooke is already booked in for a couple of additional dates following a successful stay :)
This is the second time Yogi has stayed with Hazel and family and I honestly couldn’t recommend them enough. I have always felt so comfortable leaving our dog Yogi with them and look forward to the daily updates and photos. You can see truly how happy yogi is when he is there. Your dog will be treated like family at the bed and bone dog home boarding and we love that. We are so grateful to have such wonderful people look after our fur baby while we are away.
Hazel looked after our dogs while we were attending a wedding and they couldn’t have been looked after any better! She sent me loads of photos and pupdates over the weekend and I could see they were happy and comfortable. I would highly recommend using this business as your dogs will be in safe hands. Rocco and Freya, both Spaniels, had a fantastic time on holiday with Hazel, Malcolm and family. The whole experience went very smoothly from the initial meet and great, trial sleepover and holiday time. I could tell from the initial meeting that Hazel and Malcolm both love dogs and made such a fuss (and friends) with them very quickly. Hazel was great at keeping me up to date with all their adventures on their walks and chilling at their house on the couch! Really a home from home experience! They had a fab time and got on so well with their dog, Fara. I would fully recommend Hazel - 100% and Rocco and Freya are so looking forward to their next holiday. Thank you both so much, it allowed me to relax and enjoy my holiday!
We boarded our two golden retrievers in September and could not recommend highly enough ! Our dogs were loved and cared and it was a joy to be away knowing they were being so cared for. Hazel and Malc have such a well run professional caring business and I will be using their service again for sure
Phoebe came to stay with Hazel and family for 3 nights, it was her first time staying away without us so I was a bit nervous but was put at ease immediately, from the meet and greet beforehand, dropping her off and lots of lovely photos and updates over the time we were away! I will definitely use Bed and Bone again it’s so nice to know she is being well looked after in a lovely home environment, when we picked her up although she was very excited to see us it was also lovely to see her obvious affection for Hazel so a big thumbs up from Phoebe too.

Can't recommend Hazel & Malcom enough. We have been delighted with the service from start to finish. We were nervous leaving Baillie to go on holiday as she suffers from seperatiom anxiety. It was very clear from the initial meet/walk, which was relaxed, friendly but professional, that our Baillie would be very well looked after in a very welcoming pet friendly family home. The regular updates and pictures were great to see while we were away helping us know how well Baillie was being looked after which allowed us to enjoy our holiday - it was clear she was having a great time too, long walks and full run of what truly became a home from home! Thanks again Hazel & Malcom for looking after our Baillie so well.
The Spinney is excellent, knowledgable staff and great set up. Our dog who is a bit nervous, thrives at the Spinney and when we get her back, she settles in at home like she hadn’t ever been away. Thanks to the team.
Went down on the off chance to see if we could get booked in on the dates we needed. As soon as we walked in we were greeted by a man called Gary who was probably the most pleasant and helpful person I’ve dealt with in a very long time. He was extremely helpful… patient… and very informative and had an answer for every question we had. And some very helpful suggestions with regards to booking in the future. The place itself was spectacular in my opinion. Very clean… modern and so welcoming. The other kennels we went to see just looked grim and over crowded compared to this place. We booked our dog in for a day visit straight away to see how things go but I have to say I was blown away by the facilities on offer and the attitude of the staff
Just picked up my furbaby Hugo ( frenchie )after his 3 night stay at The Spinney first time boarder. I would recommend the Spinney because of its location the facilities are spotless ...just before we were about to leave Hugo turned around ran to Gary for a last belly rub thats all the endorsement i needed to know he had been well looked after thanks guys .
My dog Sparky was in the Spinnery dog kennels on Monday all day and collected on the Tuesday morning.I was so worried about Sparky going in.The boys were so nice with Sparky and he settled in very good.I think he enjoyed his stay.He just loves cuddles.Sorry i couldn't remember your names.Thankyou so much as it was short notice.Will be back.Highly recommended.Thanks once again.Maureen McMurdo
Great setting. Kennels look out onto a nice courtyard and they have a safe area for walks with staff. Very professional people who clearly care about the animals in their care. Highly recommended.
I wouldn’t leave my dog anywhere else. She has stayed a few times now and this time was the longest - 2 weeks. When I picked her up today she was very happy and looked great as she’d had a bath. The guys are brilliant and give a good report about how your dog has been - very honest feedback. She is already booked in for 2 more stays next year - I book well in advance because if I couldn’t leave her at The Spinney I simply wouldn’t go on holiday. Would recommend them to anyone. Been taking my dogs to the Spinney for years and they are always very well looked after. The dogs pull me into the reception every time! They recently stayed for a week on the 1st of October and are booked in again for next year already. Great service with the staff always going the extra mile. Thanks again!
The thought of leaving the dog anywhere when we went away was awful. We'd heard a few good things from different people about The Spinney so decided to go with them. Thankfully they had availability or by this time in the day we'd have been cancelling our holiday!! They were genuinely brilliant. The staff and kennels! I wasn't convinced they'd be 'good enough' for our wee Frenchie, but I can confirm we have booked our next holiday and the dog is booked into The Spinney too!
We couldn't fault these guys when we took our very nervous dog to stay as a trial. I think i was the most nervous but the guys put my mind at ease. They really went out their way to make sure Freddie as relaxed time and it's clear they really care for every animal. We will be back in the New Year to get Freddie used to the kennels in the hope to board him while we are on holiday. I wouldn't use any other kennels as these guys do an amazing job.

Fabulous doggy day care. My dog, Noodle, went here for approx 6 years and loved every minute of it from the point I’d announce it was a Whoof Club day (whirling round in excitement with me struggling to get his harness on) until I came to collect him (with him more than once plunking himself under the table to not go home). Margaret and her team are fantastic- really care about the dogs and take excellent care of them.
Sending our dogs to Whoof Club was the best thing we ever done for them. They have so much fun with the staff and other dogs and it and it has had a great impact on their health and energy. The staff are all very passionate about the dogs and you know they are in good hands.
Two years ago our then 8 month old Jack has been frightened puppy with no social skills. Whoof club owner Margaret assessed him and allowed Jack to become a member of their friendly community. Since Jack has developed social skills, obedience and he loves the time spent there alongside with furry friends and Margaret, Elaine, Amanda and Louise. Top facility with even better lovely staff ❤️
Fred just loves spending time at The Whoof Club with all his doggy pals! He loves the hoomans who take such great care of all the dogs!! He often strikes this pose waiting for the Whoof Club van to come pick him up!
My puppy Lily had a assessment here and she had a great time she ran around playing with the other dogs the staff were friendly and after Lily was sleeping before I even finished reversing out of the car space while a smile on her face. I will be comfortable leaving Lily when she at the day care
