I had the most relaxing and enjoyable time looking after Tilly for Susan and Simon. I didn't meet them but Susan and I chatted via a Whatsapp video call prior to the sit and we kept in regular contact during my stay. Susan's daughter very kindly picked me up from the train station and showed me around. Tilly is a real sweetheart, super friendly and affectionate, we enjoyed many evenings snuggled up on the couch together and most nights snuggled up in bed together too! Susan and Simon's home is immaculate, in a quiet location and with a fabulous view over the hills. I did some wonderful walks on Dartmoor which can be accessed within a 10 minute walk from the house. With the bus that goes past the house I could travel to Plymouth, Totnes and also back to the train station. I thoroughly enjoyed my time with Tilly. Thank you Susan and Simon for hosting me.
It was a super lovely and relaxing sitting and experience! Esther and her family were very welcoming and hospitable. I arrived the night before because they leave early in the morning and we had a nice dinner together and some time to talk and get to know each other. The house was exactly like in the pictures in the announcement and Chase (the dog) and Fluffy (the hamster) are very lovely and easy to manage. Chase is probably one of the sweetest dog I've ever met: he is sweet, loves cuddles, very calm and easy...I miss him a lot <3 I love to work, relax and take some swim in the pool and some visit to Bracciano, the castle and the lake...the house is a little bit out from the village but calm and silence are really amazing. It was really a pleasure to take care of her house and animals and I really suggest to sit there. Thanks for all Sara
Jay and Jane were gracious and welcoming hosts. Their home is lovely with great views of the Columbia River. You can also walk into town (maybe 15 minutes), which I enjoy. Jay was informative but relaxed about the home. Kesey is a sweetheart! She’s very friendly and loving. We’d go for a nice walk or hike every morning, and then she’d pretty much sleep all day. She’s pretty good with commands and responded with treats every time. I hope to go back!
Honest feedback-- One of our favorite sits this year. Dachshunds hold a special place in our heart. Wilson and Hampton got into our hearts and there they will remain. Oh, and our first time with chickens. Now we want chickens of our own once we "settle down" in the next few years. I never knew chickens were so chill. An extremely comfortable bed and maybe the nicest modern bathroom we have experienced in our 28 sits for THS. Brian and Binny are newlyweds. There is a lot of love in that house. You can feel it. They we camping in Arizona while we stayed at their place in Austin, but they STILL managed to communicate with us. A very positive experience. We hope to get invited back one day.
We had a lovely time in Crowborough. Very comfortable house and Kathy and Bernie made us feel very welcome and gave good instructions beforehand and were available during the sit for any queries which was reassuring. We went on some great dog walks which both dogs loved but particularly Stanley who loves exploring. I would recommend this house sit if you have the opportunity. Various family members came to visit and all remarked on the lovely location. We will be returning!
Be prepared, it is a bumpy road out to the house off of the highway, however the views are worth it. The home is on expansive land, with open skies. Their pets are sweethearts, and you are likely to see birds, rabbits, and deer. Don and Diane left me detailed instructions, and were really nice when I had to call them for help. If you get a chance to go there I definitely recommend it!
