I had the pleasure of caring for Ellen and Loren's home for nearly a month and had an absolutely wonderful stay. Their home is lovely, fully equipped with everything needed for a comfortable stay, and I found it very easy to work remotely while there (with wifi and printer available). They have extensive trees and gardens around the house, and a highlight of the day was having tea outside on the patio and soaking in the peaceful environment. The plaza is a short walk down a beautiful arroyo trail, and it's no more than a few minutes via car to anywhere in the city. It's the perfect jumping off point for exploring all that Santa Fe has to offer. Loren and Ellen are very kind, hospitable and excellent communicators. They gave me a thorough transition to walk through everything before the sit, and left a comprehensive manual for the house which made it possible to reference everything from trash pickup days to watering instructions for the gardens. Ellen very smartly left little markers in all house plants indicating exactly how much water to give them, which made plant care very easy and fast. Any questions I had throughout the stay were quickly answered. Rena, the cat, is an absolute sweetheart. She was in my lap purring 2 minutes after I arrived, and I'm pretty sure she purrs about 18 hours a day! She is quite easy to care for, and spends a lot of time in the garden lounging, but she checks in frequently for some pats and love. Freddie, the fish, was such a delightful surprise! He has his own unique personality and happily greets you whenever you come over to the tank. He really enjoys conversation and human interaction. I became very attached to both Rena and Freddie during the course of my sit and would jump at the chance to care for them again in the future!
Paula’s house was well located for our walking weekend in the Peak District. Yildiz was easy to look after and slept most of the time. We had a bright guest room to sleep in and it was nice sitting outside in the sun early evenings. The bathroom has recently been refurbished and is pleasant. We had a little trouble with the tv but overcame it by using the HDMI cable to stream from our phone. Paula was available during the weekend by phone and responded promptly when we contacted her.
April, her husband and the girls are all very friendly and helpfull on what to do around Wellington. They leave a booklet of infos that is very nice and usefull! Nelson is just the greatest to spend Christmas time with, always willing to go for a walk or to play. He tends to try to eat stuff along the walk so you have to keep an eye on him but he listens pretty well even when unleached. The house is perfect, it's outside the city center but the view when walking Nelson is amazing and it's an easy little bus ride to the city. Thanks for trusting me on my first official sit!
Panya is a truly special and majestic creature, and I had such a great time hanging out with him :) Ursula and Farzam were super sweet and welcoming -- they made me feel at ease in their beautiful, well appointed home and gave me super clear instructions for everything that needed to be done. We had such a lovely time sitting for Coda, such a sweet natured, cuddly, gentle and well behaved dog. He is a total sweetheart and was such a pleasure! He travelled really well in the car so we were able to take him everywhere with us, making exploring the area so much fun. Simone and Ashley are very lovely, easy-going and kind, and made us feel very welcome in their home. It’s a fantastic location to explore North Devon, and Bideford itself is a really cute town, with a couple of dog friendly parks 5 minutes away from the house by foot and nice trails along the river.
