Archie was definitely the star of this sit - a lovely older dog with lots of energy who has selective hearing if what he’s doing is more interesting than what I wouldn’t him to do. He walks very well on and off his lead and loves the car although he has to be lifted into it as he can’t quite make the leap. He eats well. He did have a slight bowel problem and we fed him chicken and rice which seemed to clear it up. He is a lovely patient dog who likes his own company as well as someone to play with. Happy in both scenarios. We met Daphne way back in November when she gave us a grand tour of her property and showed us where everything was. She was going away on a long sailing trip and we were taking over from other sitters so our handover as with them. The bedroom we were assigned was big and very comfortable with drawers and hanging space. The bathroom with shower was next door. The kitchen had everything we needed and the sitting room was very comfortable to sit in of an evening. The garden was huge, overlooking the river but gardeners came once a week to look after it. It rained a lot so we did not have to water anything. Braces Quay is at the end of a long unpaved road. We walked to the village and it took about half hour. The nearest supermarket is a ten minute drive away so I would say a car is good to have. As you can imagine the walking is extensive in the area and we walked almost everyday. We even had a day trip to the Isle of Wight and Archie had a long swim - he loves water (and mud). This was a great sit for us as we spend a lot of time outdoors and to have a dog who loved to walk was a huge plus. Thank you for having us, Daphne, and I hope you enjoyed your sailing trip as much as we enjoyed our stay in Braces Quay.
This stay is so beautiful! Henri is a wonderful pup, and Kernville is gorgeous. Lynn was very communicative and hospitable. Highly recommend!
I had such a wonderful time at Kate and Stefan’s San Diego apartment! Their place is welcoming, quiet and clean. Their Penny is an absolute doll! She is gentle, sweet, playful and is so good on a leash for walks with treats to keep her attention. And did I mention adorable? Her sweet face was fantastic company throughout my stay. I live local and did have a car which was great to get around, as many San Diego attractions are within a 15 minutes drive. Their place is very secure with a key fob to get into various amenities at the apartment as well as the garage. Kate, Stefan and I had an initial FaceTime to go over the apartment building layout, Penny’s needs, and any details about her schedule after my application, which I really appreciated. She was quick with texts and made it known she would be available in case I had any questions. I had such a wonderful time and would return in a heartbeat!
