Jane and I enjoyed some eight months housesitting for Eke and Nikolaas and they could not have been more kinder and helpful, so a big thank you to them both ! The house is an old farmhouse wonderfully cool in the intense heat of the summer and set in a huge estate that encompasses a lake, fields pine trees and gardens with a stream. A wonderfully peaceful place to be, with woodpeckers galore darting about, birdsong and we also had a wonderful vegetable garden that gave us a great crop of tomatoes aubergines, courgettes chilli peppers and herbs ! as well as the lovely chickens that laid an extraordinary number of eggs. Nikolaas visited a couple of times and we hugely enjoyed his company. A great choice of place to be for any housesitter.
