We sat briefly for Judy & Emil, but enjoyed our time immensely. The location is difficult to beat--north-central Austin, convenient to public transit and downtown, as well as a range of good shopping and restaurant options. Their bungalow is tastefully decorated with mementos and art objects, including Judy's own groovy, surrealistic painted glass pieces. They greeted us with fantastic soup (Emil is a retired chef), and we made good use of their well-appointed kitchen during our stay. We met Diva, their sweet Husky, and although she accompanied them on their trip this time we would have been happy to care for her. As she is getting on in years, she mainly appreciates lots of gentle affection; it is also critical to make sure she has enough water. We would highly recommend sitting for Judy & Emil; they are a hip, laid-back, warm couple who made sure we had access to everything we might need during the sit, and we are sure it would be a pleasure to care for Diva.
Laura and Russel were incredibly warm and welcoming hosts. They were accommodating and flexible, encouraging me to go enjoy the outdoors. They provided a comprehensive welcome guide that left no question unanswered, offering clear instructions for daily tasks. The location itself is this kind of beautiful blend of country feeling suburbia with city amenities nearby yet nature so close as well. KB2 is such an easygoing and affectionate cat. He takes a day or two to warm up but he really opens up after that. He was pretty easy and enjoyable to take care of.
We had a great 10 days with kitties Igor and Inga in their beautiful woodland home. Good communications with Tom before and during the sit. Completed Welcome guide and local information was appreciated. Tom and Barbara are lovely, warm, kind and generous hosts. We enjoyed getting to know them. Igor is affectionate and a fun, chatty character. Inga is also affectionate, on her terms. Inga liked a morning cuddle on the bed. Igor was receiving gel treatment for an allergy, he was co operative about it being put on. Their routine and feeding was easy to follow. They both came inside at night easily. They enjoyed an evening snuggle on the sofa. Tom and Barbara's home is spacious, traditional, and in a lovely woodland setting. Beautiful gardens and flowers and indoor plants. Lots of nature to enjoy. We saw deer, turtles and woodpeckers! The house is well equipped in all aspects for a very comfortable stay. Heat/air con system. We enjoyed the hot tub. The outdoor pool was closed during our stay. We loved the evenings on the balcony soaking up the ambience. We also enjoyed the gym equipment in the basement. The guest bed was comfortable, with lots of space for our clothing and a well equipped bathroom. The location has good access for Tysons Corner shopping, groceries etc. Attractions in DC are 30 minutes drive. We recommend Great Falls Park for hikes/walking. Highly recommended. Catherine and Rob
Dennis and Pete are such great hosts! We confirmed the sit months in advance and Dennis kept in touch with all of the happenings in Portland in anticipation of me coming. Dennis escorted me from the train station when I arrived. They even had a vegan meal prepared for me upon my arrival. We overlapped for 3 days before they departed for Mexico. Dennis gave me a walking tour of the area. They took me out for a happy hour at a neighborhood bar and introduced me to their neighbors. They did everything in their power to make me feel a home. The house is impeccably decorated. Dennis is an architect, but I’m sure he could try his hand at interior design as well. The house is centrally located in the Alphabet district within walking distance (or a very short MAX ride) from Downtown. You are also a short walk away from some other great restaurants, bars, and places to shop. I enjoyed my time taking care of Dennis and Pete’s home. I also really enjoyed getting to know them as well. I couldn’t recommend this sit enough.
Luana was such an amazing host. She is a very warm, kind and caring person and she invited me to come over the evening before she left, made me dinner and explained all the details about the sit. Eugene is one of the sweetest cats I have ever met. He sat next to me while I worked and slept with me. He is very easy going, loves belly rubs and being brushed and enjoys playing with his toys. This was an amazing sit and I very much hope I'll have a chance to be back!
I was by Marie-Claire with my daughter during ten days at the end of july. We took care of her two beautyful dogs, Jelly and Fig. Marie-Claire and Eddy and their children, that we met before their departure, were extremely friendly and welcoming. We were lucky enough to meet also their grand-mother who lives in the neighborhood and who was very helpfull and kind with us. Their house was very charming and very british and it was a real pleasure to spend time there and to take care of it (even more surprising was the wonderful garden !!!). Of course, we spent a lot of time with Jelly and Fig, and had a great time with them. They where super-lovely and affectioned and we will remember always the sweet evenings watching tv with them into our arms ❤❤❤ ! We would be happy to come back to see them!
