This was such a great sit! Mikey and Daisy are the sweetest and cutest! Amy made us feel very welcome in her gorgeous home and was easy to communicate with before/during/after. The neighborhood is in a great location that is easy to get into the city and mountains from. I would recommend having a car for this sit so you will be able to get around easily since it is a little far from the trains and grocery stores, etc. We would do this sit again in a heartbeat! Thanks for everything Amy, it was a purrfect Denver vacay!
stunning stylish home and gardens, charming owners and a super special dog called Myrtle - we thoroughly enjoyed our time together in this magical place. Abbi and Ian are a kind, gracious couple who took the time and trouble to meet beforehand and show us around, drew up several detailed maps for suggested country walks and left us a generous selection of hamper items to enjoy. The house itself is impressive and inviting; a quintessentially English country mansion yet full of life, colour, fun and class - very much a family home with a real sense of history and belonging to it and we felt very lucky to be looking after it. The gardens are extensive - both formal and relaxed and you can easily lose yourself in the space and tranquility of the setting but the real star of the show is Myrtle herself. Only 10 months old at the time of our sit, Myrtle showed a maturity beyond her age and is so calm, gentle, obedient and trusting that she makes the most delightful canine companion. Straight from the house (or a very short drive away) there are many lovely and varied countryside walks which we explored with Myrtle who is amazing off the lead as she never strays far from your side. Her recall and manners are impeccable and being an intelligent dog she is a very quick learner. On the lead she still pulls a little and can be anxious in unfamiliar situations but with time, patience and familiarity this will rapidly improve. With other dogs she has no issues at all and during the day she doesn’t ask for anything more than you can give her so is happy with a short walk or a longer expedition - never whining or barking for attention or playtime. At night she sleeps content in her bed and the happy home she is such a loving and loved part of…we miss Myrtle already and so hope to be able to take care of her again 🐾 Highly recommended 5* sit all round 🙏
I had a lovely time! The cats are easy to look after and all 3 are funny, affectionate and great to spend time with. The house has everything you might need and Eugenie left detailed instructions and was always available if I had any questions whilst they were away. I don't drive and this was the perfect location for somewhere that is easily accessible by public transport but also has lots of nice walks and nature on the doorstep. I'd love to go back...
We definitly enjoyed taking care of Hestu, Ponyo and Zuko! Hestu and Ponyo are friendly and cute and Zuko is not rude but too shy, as Laura said. The neighborhood is nice and safe. The apartment is near the train station of Mineola. Laura was very kind, communicative and she left everything ready for us even some welcome snacks and wine :) We highly recommend to stay at Laura's home if you come to NYC!
We had such a lovely stay in Geanina and Petre’s apartment and enjoyed every minute with Esther, Jazzy and Rollo. They have beautiful natures and really warmed up to us over the sit (as did we to them, we were very sad to say goodbye!). They were really great with our daughter (4) too. Geanina and Petre were so welcoming and made our stay very memorable. Would absolutely recommend and we still speak fondly often of our time on this house sit.
Meghan and Callan were both so friendly and communicative before and during this sit! It was great to get to know them both over dinner, and was especially helpful for Pepper who is pretty nervous around new people. But only a day or so later she had warmed up and enjoyed lots of pets and cuddles on the sofa. Wiley will warm up to you faster, but prefers pets and treats over cuddles. At the time of writing this, Meghan and Callan are moving to a new location, which is excellent because the busy street was noisy and did contribute to Pepper's anxiety. I think she will be much happier at her new location! I can at least say that everything was very well organized and clean! I had a very easy time finding everything I would need. Plus Meghan was sure to point everything out before leaving. Though we did have some more anxious days with Pepper, Meghan was quick to respond with tips and tricks to help her relax. I think these two will benefit most from a sitter with a calming presense. With a little patience, you will soon find them giving you the CUTEST morning greetings I have ever had! Their morning and night routines were my absolute favorite. If you've never "tucked in" a dog for the night, I highly recommend! They sleep in their own little beds on the floor rather than in the bed, but love to see you are there with them- so cute!
