We couldn't be happier with the house and pet sit Joseph and Hannah did for us back in April/May. Up until their arrival, they were very communicative, approachable, curious, thoughtful and easy to chat with. They read all of our emails and notes about our home and our spoiled Boston Terrier, Newman. They asked questions that reassured us they were excited about the sit, but also wanted to be clear on expectations and do an amazing job. Joseph and Hannah arrived the day before we left and immediately made us feel at ease. We gave them a tour and then we all chatted and had dinner together. We were nervous to meet them, but within the first couple minutes we could tell they were professional, experienced, responsible, and serious animal lovers. We had a lovely evening getting to know one another, and it was love at first sight for them and Newman. They jumped right in to helping with the house and dog....eager to observe, learn, and be involved. Hannah was on the floor sitting and talking with Newman right away- it was like they were old friends:) Once we left for travel, Joseph and Hannah remained very communicative, sending text updates and photos of their excursions and cuddle-times with Newman. We were away for 6 weeks and were continuously impressed at how smooth the sit was going, and very relaxed and comfortable knowing our home and dog were in their hands. Joseph even set up a "observation bed" for Newman, so he could watch over his shoulder (or more accurately sleep) while he worked. We have a very spoiled and attention-demanding dog :)) We were quite detailed with the care-plan for Newman, and they followed it to a tee! This included always keeping Newman on a leash, making him homemade salmon treats daily, providing him with blankets/beds/cuddles all day long, and daily exercise- even in rain, hail, snow. In fact, we came home to find Newman healthier and more fit that before we left! We have been trying to keep up with their exercise program for him!! They also created the cutest video compilation of Newman from footage they gathered via videos, photos, and a doggy GoPro! Joseph and Hannah are such a lovely, thoughtful, responsible, and outstanding couple. We returned home to find our house SPOTLESS! They even left us groceries for dinner that night so we wouldn't have to run to the store after two long days of travel, as well as flowers and other little provisions. They made friends with our neighbours, and even partook in some social activities with them. It was nice to come home to hear our neighbours give glowing reviews and talk about how much they missed them. Newman looked for them for days, and we have kept in touch regularly since they returned home. We are so delighted, and feel fortunate, that we found Joseph and Hannah! While we are happy to hear about their upcoming travel plans, we can only hope they make their way back to Whistler soon to do another sit, or at least visit :))
I would highly recommend anyone accepting a sit for Harley and Lucy in the owners beautiful home. I will miss all of the wonderful kisses they gave me.
