Alison
Alison was amazing to work with! She was a great communicator, really understanding and she made me feel comfortable and at ease! This was my first time house sitting and she helped me feel really prepared to take care of her pets. Her home is so beautiful and she was so lovely to sit for.

Puća is such a sweet and smart kitty. He followed me around and loved to play. I really enjoyed my time in Nick and Laura's lovely home.

Sarah's home is very clean, well organized and beautiful. It is in one of the oldest and prettiest neighborhoods in Portland. The old growth trees are spectacular and a short walk up to Mt. Tabor provides amazing city views. Nice wide sidewalks and trees for shade make this a dog walking paradise. Some of the best restaurants in Portland are very close and it is a straight easy shot to downtown. The backyard gets gorgeous sunsets and is lovely place to relax or eat a meal. Sarah's home is beautifully decorated and offers the best of modern updates to an old home.

Annie is a very sweet dog and loves her walks. She is a little aggressive towards the cats but when spoken to sternly she curbed her behavior. I brought her to my house and she did great with my dog and didn't pay any attention to our cat. She loved riding in the car and exploring new sites and sounds in my neighborhood on a couple of occasions.

Pete and Ollie are super sweet cats. I felt bad that I never could give the cats the full attention they wanted and deserved because Annie would bark when I would go outside to spend time with them. The cats were hesitant to get too close to Annie since she could be aggressive towards them. It was nice when my partner would come over so we could spread the attention and Annie would not get jealous. Pete really wanted to come into the house so even though they are outdoor cats, the are super social. In other words, a single person can totally manage this sit but I was happy I had a partner in the evenings for the animals benefit.

Sarah was generous in treating us to some take-out meals in the neighborhood and offering us to enjoy food and drink in the refrigerator. She responded to all of my inquiries while they were on their vacation and I felt like she appreciated our efforts in caring for her outdoor plants, home and pets.

I would highly recommend this sit to someone who loves old homes/neighborhoods and the ability to walk/hike out the front door. The only things to note is they don't have a.c. so cooking in the summer could be challenging and the guest bedroom is in a daylight basement. It is very nice and stays cool in the summer but is on the darker side and could bother some people in the winter months.

Jane
Smudge is a gentle soul and an absolute poppet. We made a strong connection and I hope I will be able to renew that before too long.
Jane was very helpful before and during my visit, making sure I had a lot of support from neighbours and friends during my visit and it was great fun sending her WhatsApp messages from Smudge every day!
An added bonus was that Bury’s famous ‘Hidden Gardens’ Day happened while I was there, giving me a chance to explore the town and its exquisite gardens from an unusual perspective.
The house, and its magical garden which lights up with fairy lights in the evening, is in a perfect location, a short walk from the centre of town and there is so much of interest to see, including the Abbey, the Grade 1 listed theatre, Greene King Brewery and the Museum. It is easy to get to a number of National Trust properties and the mediaeval village of Lavenham by local buses, and a day visit to Cambridge is also possible by train.
