Deborah
What an adventure! Deborah has a three-ring circus of kitties who will never leave you bored. Matchka is the ringmaster and thinks everything in the house revolves around her. She took awhile to get comfortable with me, but once she did, was sleeping in my bed under the covers and demanding multiple petting sessions per day. This came at a price though, which was that she decided the entire house would be her litter box. You'll want to watch out for these "surprises", have a nose for the unmistakable smells and be ready to clean up after her.

Jasmine was much more laid back and cuddled with me from the start. I think she became discouraged once Matchka hogged the spotlight, but would still come around for pets and cuddles.

Sport keeps to himself the most of the three but accepted my affections without a complaint, especially when I would sit in the sunroom off the master bedroom, where he likes to spend daylight hours. All three liked the guest bedroom (mine) at night.

The three are good at entertaining themselves. They run around A LOT and got in little skirmishes often (sometimes in the middle of the night), but never fought to the point of claws coming out. Sport and Matchka tend to be the instigators.

It's a very nice house filled with artwork from Debroah's world travels. She's a very generous and sociable host. It's Asheville, as familiar as I am with WNC I still discovered a few new hikes.

The sit was a month long and Matchka's one of the higher-maintenance kitties I've cared for, but it was worth it, and I hop to see Deborah and her clan again.

Joel
We had an unforgettable time with Charlie and Scout - regal, Italian greyhounds. They are both sweethearts - we often caught them both lounging in the sun, eager to play catch or snuggled up in their crates.

Both Joel and Alex welcomed us into their home - a dreamy oasis. We loved our time around the fire pit in the evenings and made the most of the many spaces available to work from home. Joel was easily contactable if ever questions arose and we wouldn’t hesitate to come back to spend more time with them all.

Thank you for welcoming us into your home and for trusting us with your girls! We left our sit feeling inspired and are grateful to have crossed paths.

Loved hanging out with sweet Nido and Aria for the month. Nido took a few days to warm up but ended up being the sweetest soul. I miss him! Amy and Jamey’s home was very comfortable in a beautiful neighborhood. They were phenomenal hosts! It was nice to have coffee out on the back terrace each morning. Loved going on walks to the local cafes and through all the pretty streets. Would highly recommend for any future sitters!

Candice
Our sit at Candice’s was so good. Phugly, Zecora and Zachary are real characters who kept us thoroughly entertained throughout our stay. They warmed up pretty quickly (after one day). We had some great outings with the dogs. Phugly is such a little cuddly happy-go-lucky honey and Zecora is a playful little Zoomster with a perfect touch of sass. Zachary is like part cat, part dog and part monkey 😂 and was such a hoot. Candice left the house immaculate for us which was SO nice to arrive to following long travels. Her house was super comfortable for our stay, with everything we needed. We had a wee tear leaving this little trio of buddies, as they really made an imprint on us. Would highly recommend looking after Candice’s fur babies for fellow sitters!

Susie
Beautiful house in the most beautiful setting! The dogs were so easy to look after. Both had wonderful characters, were very well-behaved, and were a pleasure to look after. Clear instructions were left for medication. There was a beautiful walk in the fields right next to the property. I was welcomed into the property, and the stay was very comfortable.

I was actually really sad saying goodbye to the dogs as they were so well-behaved and really made me smile.

5* Location and 5* Dogs - I would highly recommend a stay with Barley and Teasle!

NICOLE
We stayed at Nicole's for 3 weeks and really enjoyed the time spent looking after Diesel, Tripple, and Daytona. Nicole was there for the first night and gave us a thorough rundown of how to care for the pups. She was also nice and helpful, making sure we settled into the house, giving us a tour around town, and even taking us out to dinner at one of her favorite spots.

Daily responsibilities were pretty straightforward and standard. Feeding/walking in the mornings/evenings and playing with them throughout the day. Tripple loves playing fetch with his tire and finding it when hidden in plain sight. Diesel is smart and independent and always the most excited for the walk. Daytona is the princess--a gentle giant who loves and needs affection. The dogs are very well-behaved and understand a handful of useful commands. They're all a great mix of playful and relaxed.

Nicole has a very cool house in a nice neighborhood. Very beachy with a nice backyard for the dogs to run around in and a bit of a suntrap, so it's great for hanging outside on those windy but sunny days. The Blue Angels are stationed at the nearby airforce base, so you get an incredible show with them flying over the house during their training flights 2 days per week. We didn't have a car, but Nicole gave us 2 good quality bikes that we got around on the whole time. Close to winn dixie, publix, and a handful of other shops, so all the essentials are quick to get to. Also, the house is even closer to Big Lagoon state park, where we spent time biking/hiking/running the trails. The beach is close enough to cycle, but the bridge has absolutely no bike lane and is kind of long with a good deal of traffic. Pretty dangerous, so we opted to Uber. Some cool old Florida bars and restaurants in the area with live music and good Southern food.

Overall we really enjoyed our time watching Diesel, Tripple, and Daytona and recommend the sit for anyone who loves chill, well-behaved dogs in a nice area.
