My sit for Jo and Peter was brilliant! I loved every second. Whilst Peter can not be left alone (ever) he is the most lovely natured dog. I set up shopping deliveries and took Peter with me on dog-friendly trips in the area. The house is a slice of paradise, a close walking distance to the stunning on-leash beach and a 10-minute drive to the off-leash beach. Jo was fabulous and we communicated over the weeks via pictures and messaging. The house was very calm and I relaxed and had a wonderful time. Morning coffee on the deck with the sun shining and birds singing was a joy. Jo's partner has beautiful houseplants which look amazing and add to the peaceful environment. I highly recommend this sit if you are wanting a time to relax in a beautiful environment with a great doggy companion, I bonded with Peter and hope I will be in the area & able to sit him again.
Michael and Pamela have a lovely cosy home which was immaculate and had everything I could need for my weeks sit. We had time to have a chat the night before they left for their trip which was great. Fluffy took a bit of time to warm to a new person in the house, but with a bit of patience (and Dreamies) we became good friends by the end of the sit. He would welcome me in the morning with meows and really enjoyed being brushed and having lots of attention. Bath itself is a beautiful place to visit with lots of nice walks and independent cafes to stop in and relax. I really recommend the free walking tour (which you can book through GuruWalk with Susan). Wonderful stay, thanks Michael and Pamela ☺️
Claire's communication was detailed and complete, but when I had a question, she got back to me right away with an answer. The house was clean and comfortable. It's located near shops, train station, and buses which was ideal for me as I travel by public transportation or by foot. I still find it hard to believe that Huxley has a vision impairment. He navigates his environment with complete ease and competence. And he was a close companion. Merlin is more reticent with his attention. but warmed up to me and even came into the living room at night and let me pet him. Thanks Claire for sharing your house and fur babies with me!
I had such a lovely time with Ella and Lottie!! They are such sweet labs. They both were so well behaved. Lottie loves to be pet and would spread out across my lap. They would both sit with me no matter where I went in the house. Ella stayed right by me on our walks. They love to go for walks; and there was a very nice group of fields close by that the girls were very familiar with. They had many other friends that walked there, so often Lottie would run and chase around with the dogs there. They are such loving dogs! Anne and Steve are both so nice! Anne invited me to stay the day before she left so I could get familiar with the girls and their routines. She went above and beyond to make sure that I was comfortable and had everything that I needed. She drove me to bath to make sure I got where I needed to go at the end of my sit. Anne really was an amazing host, and I am so thankful to have had the chance to get to know her! As for Trowbridge, Anne and Steve live in a very nice community. I felt very safe there going for long walks, and etc. I didn't have a car while I was there, but could easily walk to stores nearby. There is a bus from downtown, but I just walked. Trowbridge is near Bath, and the countryside is gorgeous there. Anne and Steve live in a beautiful house. I was so comfortable there! I would absolutely love to stay with the girls again!! Thanks Anne for everything!!!!
The only disappointing thing about this sit was that Jane & Andy returned to reclaim their pets and home! We would happily have stayed there forever. A well-appointed and very comfortable house in a beautiful part of Sheffield, with plenty of interesting independent shops, bars and cafes within easy walking distance, and the city centre easily reached by bus or bike. Then there’s the pets. Pepper and Minnie are the most perfect pets to look after. Obedient, affectionate and full of fun, they were so entertaining, not just to us, but to the many passers-by who smiled at them as they sat in the front window to watch the world go by. The dogs love a long walk, which is easy with the Peak District on the doorstep, but right opposite the house is a beautiful walk through Endcliffe Park and Whitley Woods up to Forge Dam. The dogs’ antics as they ran about or chased a ball were great entertainment. We had a wonderful time here and would sit for these lovely pets and their kind owners again in a heartbeat.
We loved house sitting for Rosemarie. She was a very friendly and gracious host. Her home was beautiful, immaculately clean, and provided all the amenities one could ask for. Her neighbourhood was very inviting and perfect for dog walking. Centerport is a lovely area with many things to do especially if you enjoy exploring around. There are great restaurants, historic points of interest, shopping, wineries, parks, and trails. The true joy of sitting for Rosemarie are her pets. Cinnamon, her cat, liked to nap most of the day but would come for cuddles and attention in the evening. Sassy and Ralph, her dogs, were total sweethearts. Sassy loved her walks and having a fenced backyard kept her happy being able to go in and out. Ralph has mobility issues and is mostly blind but he was always eager to join in. We improvised and were able to take Ralph on our walks with the use of a cart. We highly recommend Rosemarie as a host.
