Ailsa is such a lovely woman! So kind, warm and welcoming with us. Watson is a dream! Such a well behaved little man. We loved the positioning of the property, between the township and the beach, perfect the seeing the area. The house itself is so lovely and comfortable. Overall we were so happy with our weekend at Ailsa and Watson home, we would 100% recommend them to anyone.
Brendan and Michelle was very friendly and very accommodating and welcoming. The house was very nice and had everything we required. With beautiful local parks a short walking distance away. Spangle was nervous to begin with but soon warmed to us. We would 100% recommend and would be very happy to return.
This was a short notice sit for the family, whose sitters had had to cancel. We arrived a few hours before the family had to leave, so we were treated to a delicious lunch and given a comprehensive tour of the property with plenty of opportunity to go through the dogs’ routine. Stanley, (aka the ‘pirate puppy!) is still very much a baby and given a chance he’ll steal food, underwear and anything else he can get hold of, but we were warned of the issue and he’s so endearing you can forgive him anything! Rocket gets quite anxious in the car but we found that if they were walked before we set off he settled much more easily. Both dogs walked well on lead. They can be a little reactive with other dogs but only out of exuberance, as they’re very sweet-natured and not at all aggressive. Their home is spacious and well-equipped and in a lovely location. As we’re older sitters and I have joint problems we weren’t ideal sitters for two young and lively pups, but if you’re fairly fit and enjoy walking with delightful dogs in beautiful surroundings you will thoroughly enjoy meeting the family and looking after Rocket and Stan. If I didn’t have mobility issues I wouldn’t hesitate to go back.
We had a great time housesitting for Geordie and Judith. Their house is in a peaceful, quiet location surrounded by woodlands with lots of walking trails. It's about a 15 minute drive to the closest grocery store so we appreciated having access to Geordie's car. He was also kind enough to pick us up from Burlington. It was cold in December but the wood-burning stove made it super cosy. Phantom is a lovely dog, skittish at first (he clearly had a tough time before Geordie rescued him) but once he begins to trust you he becomes very affectionate. If you take him on long walks and give him treats (he loves that word!) and throw tennis balls for him, he'll be your best friend. Darwin is a chunky, sweet cat who loves cuddles and his food. It was a pleasure looking after the two of them. We only briefly met Lilly but she seems very sweet also.
